Proclaiming the Gospel

We do believe in the importance of Good News of salvation which is given to every human being through the Lord Jesus Christ. The gospel is proclaimed not only through words, but also through the lifestyle of every believer. We see it as our duty to preserve the power, purity, significance and soundness of the Gospel.

Faith teaching

For believers in Christ something bigger is important than just intellectual agreement with certain dogmas and principles of christian faith teaching. We believe that a christian must have personal faith in the written Word of God, he must try to live according to his faith and build live relationships with the Lord

Life in Spirit

The nature of the Lord is unchangeable and He still works in christians’ lives the same way as in the times of apostles. The guidance and leadership He provides through the Spirit who gives us power and grace for life and ministry, strengthens us in our infirmities, guides and leads us, sanctifies and comforts, heals and transforms.

Mission

We devote ourselves to the involvement and fulfillment of the Great Commandment of Jesus Christ, which is spoken to us in the Bible in Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-18. We believe it is important to support missions, run humanitarian and social work, plant churches in our countries as well as abroad.

Unity

We devote ourselves to the involvement and fulfillment of the Great Commandment of Jesus Christ, which is spoken to us in the Bible in Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-18. We believe it is important to support missions, run humanitarian and social work, plant churches in our countries as well as abroad.

Word of Life Focuses on Kids:

‘The kids are the leaders of tomorrow’ is a popular statement used all around the world which inspires kids to take on responsibility.  Kids really are the leaders of tomorrow literally, but no one ever became a prominent individual by proclaiming the words alone.  It is the duty of society (mostly the pioneers of society) to build strong traits that will replicate a responsible individual in the future.  Hence, the Word of Life camp in Panama focuses on its kids.

Word of Life Camp in Panama is bringing this sentiment to fruition.  The camp is attended annually by over 1,500 young people.  Utilizing bible clubs, drama presentations, children’s shows, sports marathons and other evangelistic outreaches, the Word of Life camp is making active and bold steps affecting the lives of thousands of kids one by one. Panama is a small country where Word of Life Camp takes a religious route in touching the lives of the young people in the country.  We all know about the good virtues true religion teaches us, but that is just a portion of the benefits from Word of Life Panama.  The program allows young ones a chance at acquiring life-changing scholarships that pairs faith with work, which is how the world moves forward.

Mirko and Traci Delibasich

The camp was started by a young couple: Mirko and Traci Delibasich.  Together they forged forward on faith to create a camp that puts God first and teaches these biblical principles to the camp kids.  Traci Cotton Delibasich grew up in Panama, where she met her future husband Mirko at another Word of Life ministry.  After the two of them married, they headed back to Panama and purchased 59 acres to start the camp.  Miracle after miracle happened for this camp.  All of the buildings and grounds had been constructed from ground up mostly by volunteers and with funds provided by donors.  When the need arose for a swimming pool, one philanthropist donated $50K just weeks after the request was made to have a pool installed.

Originally containing nine provinces, Word of Life has added a 10th province, Panama Oeste in between the city and the camp.  Word of Life Panama eventually intends to spread out into every province of Panama.

1643998_1406506878.3558_app-300x199 Word of Life PanamaIn structures like this, it is crucial to have capable hands and leaders at hand to call upon to help mold the younger generation. Word of Life Panama has the luxury of 21 capable members on staff to call upon.  Churches from many different countries have sent volunteers from their own respective fellowships to help out the camp.  Volunteers are more than happy to go for a week or more and spend time with the other staff members in helping maintain and ready the facilities for a new camp year to start.

Word of Life Ministries is based out of New York.   Jack Wyrtzen, the founder of Word of Life International Fellowship stated, “It is the responsibility of every generation to reach their own generation for Christ.”  Word of Life strives to put these words into action in Panama.   There are various camps throughout the year. Their discipleship training school is from Sept. 5th – May 15th.  The students are comprised of local Panamanian high school graduates and American high school graduates.  These students not only train in missions but also will learn a second language, either English or Spanish.  Word of Life Panama camp season is held during January and February.  Students are involved in working at the camp either as counselors or in another area.  Through the internship, the hope is to train up additional Panamanian youth as well as international youth to carry forth the ministry in Panama or elsewhere.

Word of Life Panama 2017 Annual Calendar is as follows:

Many orphans have been given an opportunity to go to this camp.   These are the future camp counselors of tomorrow.  This is largely due to people and groups donating to their website:  https://give.wol.org/location/panama  To sponsor a child for a week to stay at the camp, it is just $75 which covers a bed, meals and all the activities.   Some have been able to donate more for a child, and anyone can do so with a note as for what the money is to be spent.

Donor gives orphan computer

Pictured here are a donor and an orphan who received a computer from that donor’s direct donation.  Since then, that young man has been able to produce his own music and EPs.  Everyone is welcome to help shape the future of the kids who attend Word of Life Panama camp.  Joining hands in giving back is fulfilling: Panama Bible Clubs Project, Panama Bible Institute Scholarship Project, Panama Camp Scholarship Project, Panama Contribution and Panama Special Project are just a few of the projects that are needing more and more help.

“…Holding fast the word of life that I have not run in vain, nor laboured in vain…”

Word of Life Canada is part of a worldwide organization that ministers to young people and families, reaching them with the life-changing gospel of Christ and helping them to grow in their spiritual walk.

“It is the responsibility of every generation to reach their generation for Christ.” – Jack Wyrtzen

The story of Word of Life starts with the vision of Jack Wyrtzen, who believed, “it is the responsibility of every generation to reach their generation for Christ.”  Jack founded Word of Life Fellowship in 1940 as an outgrowth of a Bible study. Over the next 75 years, Word of Life added camps, conference centers, bible institutes, and church youth ministries.

Click on the boxes below to read more about our statement of faith

We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, without error in its originality, and the final authority in matters of faith and practice.

2 TIMOTHY 3:16
2 PETER 1:21

We believe in one God, Creator and one who sustains the universe, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

MATTHEW 28:19
2 CORINTHIANS 13:14

We believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, His divinity, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His exaltation at the right hand of God, His personal, imminent and premillennial return.

ISAIAH 7:14; JOHN 20:20; PHILIPPIANS 2: 9
1 THESSALONIANS 4.13-18, 5.9 TITUS 3:4
HEBREWS 4.15; 1 PETER 2:24

We believe that all have sinned and are therefore guilty before God and His condemnation.

ROMANS 3: 9-23

We believe that all those who by faith receive Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit. They are therefore children of God, eternally saved. The Holy Spirit dwells in every believer to illuminate him, guide him and make him able to live, testify and serve.

JOHN 10: 27-30, 14: 16,17
1 CORINTHIANS 6: 19,20 1 PETER 1:22, 23

We believe that God gives spiritual gifts to every believer for the edification of the body of Christ; However, we believe that some of these gifts of the Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and miraculous healings, were evidently reserved for the primitive church. We believe that God hears the prayers of his people, responding to their needs as it seems good to him.

ACTS 2: 10,19
1 CORINTHIANS 12:11; 13: 8-13; 14:22

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; In the eternal happiness of the redeemed in glory, in the judgment and in the conscious and eternal punishment of the unjust in hell.

MATTHEW 7:23, 25:41
1 CORINTHIANS 15: 42-58
REVELATION 20: 5, 6 LUKE 16: 23-26

We believe that every believer is called to live a life of separation from the world, with his practices and with his covenants, all in his personal life as well as in his public or ecclesiastical life.

People standing in a dessert

The Cross Cultural Internship sends students to Word of Life mission fields around the world, giving them the opportunity to serve as a missionary while working toward a college degree at a discounted price. This two year internship consists of intense training, support raising, and service in one of 81 countries where Word of Life ministers. You’ll learn how to build a support team, navigate culture shock, possibly learn a second language, and minister alongside full-time missionaries. No matter what your future holds, spending two years serving cross culturally will be an incredible way to gain experience and skills that God can use for the rest of your life!

PLACEMENT & TRAINING

Placement

We work with you as prospective interns and WOL fields to determine the best place for you to serve. Life experience, ministry skills and desires, spiritual gifts, and educational goals are all considered as we make these decisions. Oftentimes interns will start their two year internship at a regional hub for a few months before heading to their permanent destination. In each case, our goal is to give each intern the best chance to learn, serve, and grow while also helping the ministries of our international fields.

Training

Training starts in August of any given year and consists of a week of preparation for support raising and other topics that future missionaries must be grounded in. Then, interns will spend the rest of the fall season at home building a support team while receiving coaching from experienced missionaries as they navigate the journey of getting to full support. A final week of training takes place in January where interns receive instruction on culture and language dynamics, ministry and discipleship, and cultivating a servant’s heart. Our goal is at the conclusion of the week of January training, interns are fully funded and ready to be launched out to their mission field.

You’ll receive training and resources on how to raise support, and we’ll be right here with you each step of the way!

EDUCATION

All CCI interns are required to pursue a degree during your internship (exceptions may apply). We have partnered with several Christian universities, including Davis College, Liberty University, Clarks Summit University, and Calvary University, to offer significant discounts as you pursue further education – up to 50% off!
