Romans 10 : 8 ” But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming..”
Do you study and meditate on the Word? Then the Word of Yahweh is not far. It’s near you and its in your mouth. It’s the Word of faith which you can use to effect changes in your life. You can use to heal your failures. You can use to bring life to the dead conditions of life. We are encouraged to have the Word richly in us. No born again should live outside the Word. Don’t live by the dictates of the evil world but rather by God’s Word.Every situation that has failed human solutions, can be resolved by the healing power of the Word. Speak it continuously until the situation is healed completely. But first you must have the Word richly in you(Col 3:16).
Speak that Word of God to bring healing to the situation and dont talk recklessly about your situation. Prov 12:18 “Speaking recklessly is like the thrusts of a sword, but the words of the wise bring healing.”
Speak pleasant and good Words and see your condition changing for better. Prov 16:24 “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”
Prov 4:20-22 ” My child, pay attention to my words; listen attentively to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight, guard them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and healing to one’s entire body.”
Send the Word to heal every condition even your finances. Psalm 107:20 ” He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
Matt 8:8 “But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Instead, just say the word and my servant will be healed.”
Confession
I have the Word of God in my mouth. I use the Word every day to change and heal every situation in my life. In Jesus name. Amen

Last night in our home meeting we were enjoying the fact that the Apostle Paul saw Christ everywhere in the Old Testament. Even in Deut. 30:12 where there was the re-speaking of the law and the question, “Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into heaven?” came up – even here, Paul saw Christ as the living Word of God!
This is what it means to read the Bible with the glasses of God’s economy on and to be on the central line of the Bible! Here is what Paul says in Rom. 10:6-8,
6. But the righteousness which is out of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into heaven?” that is, to bring Christ down;
7. Or, “Who will descend into the abyss?” that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.
8. But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of the faith which we proclaim.
Today this is even the more so, since through incarnation Christ descended from the heavens and through resurrection He ascended from the abyss. In His incarnation, Christ as the Word brought the infinite God into the finite man – He mingled the Triune God with the tripartite man, divinity with humanity, God with man (Matt. 1:20).
He became such a mingling of God and man so that He may accomplish an all-inclusive redemption on the cross and bring us back to God (1 Pet. 3:18). Then, He descended into death, into the abyss, Hades, and after three days, in His resurrection, He ascended into the heavens again!
Now all those who receive Him by believing into Him are justified by God and have the divine life! There is no point in asking – Who will ascend to the heavens? OR, Who will descend into the abyss? – since Christ, through His process of incarnation, human living, resurrection, and ascension – He descended, then He ascended, and now He is the life-giving Spirit!
He accomplished everything that is required by God’s righteousness, holiness, and glory – now we can come to Him to partake of Him! He is now the Spirit – even the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45) – ready and available for every human being to receive!
This Christ is now everywhere on earth as the Spirit, available to be received! Whoever receives Him by believing into Him is justified by God and receives His life!
Even more – Christ now is the living Word of God coming to us in the Spirit and as the Spirit. This is indicated that this Christ – whom no one needs to either bring down from the heavens or to resurrect from the abyss – is “the word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”!
Hallelujah, Christ in resurrection as the life-giving Spirit is the living Word of God! In resurrection, Christ is both the Word and the Spirit – He is the Spirit for us to touch and experience, and He is the Word for us to understand and enjoy!
He is so near to us – even in our mouth and in our heart! We can call on the name of the Lord with our mouth – and we receive His life! We can believe into the Lord with our heart – and we are justified! How amazing – God in Christ as the Spirit has accomplished everything and has done everything that is needed for Him to be available, at hand, and ready for man to receive and enjoy!
The Triune God became the Spirit – the air that we breathe – and the Word – which we speak! This Word is not just the written word – it is the spoken living word, that is, the living person of Christ Himself!
This is why we need to read the Word, enjoy the Word, be in the Word, be immersed into the Word, and be saturated with the Word, so that we may cooperate with the Lord to speak the Word! Praise the Lord – when we call on Him, we are saved; when we believe into Him, we are justified; and when we speak His Word, we are saved much more in His life!
[enjoyment from, the Conclusion of the New Testament, as quoted on, the Central Line of the Bible (HWMR); intro via, Christ the Living Word is in Our Mouth]
Thank You Lord for Your availability! We can take You in as the Spirit – You are the spiritual air for us to breathe in! We don’t need to DO something to improve or get to a certain performance… we can just Call On Your Name! We can just Say Amen to Your Word! We can pray over Your Word and take Your Word in – and we are saved! Lord, the word is in our mouth and in our heart! This is the Word of the faith – which we proclaim and believe!
«But the word of God is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.» — Deuteronomy 30 V 14
«For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.» — Hebrews 4 V12
God through Moses provided His commandments and laws to the people of Israel that they may obey and teach their children the things pleasing to God. The people of Israel had the privilege to dwell in the presence of God, hear His voice, and directly receive the holy commandments. Today, even we have the word of God given to us and preserved for centuries. The word of God is near us and it is the same word of Got that was near to the people of Israel. Spend some quality time with God daily in His word and meditate upon the truth that is revealed in the Holy word of God. Praise the Lord!
«And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.» — Jesus Christ
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
Does God still speak today? What does He sound like? What is He saying?
God is the very author of speech. In fact, He is continually speaking His words. Through His words, He is ever activating His will and revealing His Son, allowing us to know Him and make Him known.
God Spoke Us Into Being
Everything exists by the Spoken Word of God. By His voice, He continually makes His will known to everything and everyone.
Throughout the first chapter of Genesis, God is set on bringing forth creation. He desires it, He speaks it, and it is. God said, “let there be light,” and there was light. The sky, land, seas, vegetation, and living creatures were all created by the Spoken Word of God.
“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image… so God created man…’” (Genesis 1:26-27).
It was God’s will to give us life. What incredible power and what incredible love! The Scriptures say that God knew us before we were, and He spoke us into being.
“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” Psalm 139:16
«Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…» Jeremiah 1:5
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13
He saw our unformed bodies while we were still in our mother’s womb. He saw every moment of every day of the rest of our lives before we ever took our first breath. He set us apart for His purpose before we took our first step – all because He spoke it into being! God’s voice, His Spoken Word, gives us physical life and establishes the purpose for our lives. How great are the plans God speaks over those who are His!
Meet the Spoken Word — the Lord Jesus Christ
«We must be introduced to the Spoken Word of God; we must meet Him.»
In the passage above from Jeremiah, God gives us a taste of His will for His people; He desires that we would be set apart and appointed for His service. The New Testament reaffirms this:
“For this is the will of God, your sanctification.” (1 Thessalonians 4:3)
So how does God’s Spoken Word accomplish His will to sanctify us? Through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
What is God’s word saying to us in these Scriptures? We must be introduced to the Spoken Word of God; we must meet Him. His name is the Lord Jesus Christ. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Jesus Christ is the Word of God. The Bible, documenting and testifying to the Spoken Word of God, is not simply a book with words on pages; it is the manifested life of Christ and is revealed to us by the Spirit of God.
“For the word of God is alive and active.” (Hebrews 4:12)
Jesus is the Word of God
The Word of God is Jesus Christ. He is alive, He embodies the fullness of God, and He reveals God’s essence and character. Jesus is the Word of God activated. This is how we come to know the will of God and how we know God, Himself – by listening to and trusting the Spoken Word of God, by walking in obedience to the Father, through the Lord Jesus Christ.
“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” (1 Peter 1:23)
“He replied, «Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.» (Luke 11:28)
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
By trusting in the Word of God and following the example set by the Lord Jesus, we are promised the ability to do everything that Christ did and more. “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these.” (John 14:12).
Many children of God today never attain to this victorious life because, like the Israelites, when they hear His voice, they do not believe; as a result, their hearts are hardened. The word of God warns us to not walk in this way.
«Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.» (Hebrews 3:15)
Let us believe today and let the Word of God transform us! The same Spoken Word of God that raised the Lord Jesus from the dead has the power today to raise every dead heart and mind to life through Christ, empowering us to fulfill His promise… “and they will do even greater things than these.”
Living Out the Spoken Word
«We must simply and sincerely believe that what God has spoken is true.»
What does it mean to believe in the Word of God? First, we are commanded to speak His Word. “Let the one who has my word speak it faithfully.” Jeremiah 23:28-29. To speak the word faithfully means to follow the word faithfully. Our words, themselves, are powerless unless they are lived out. We must proclaim the faith we have in the power of God’s Word through our daily actions.
“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? …faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” (James 2:14,17)
We must simply and sincerely believe that what God has spoken is true. Then we will begin to speak it and live it as truth. This is faith in action. This activates the power of the Word of God within us. So whether we need freedom from sin or encouragement in our walk with Christ, it is found when we speak the Word over our hearts, our minds, and our circumstances and then walk it out.
Speaking the Word of God over ourselves more simply means to completely trust that what He says is true. No matter the circumstance or how we may feel, the beauty of God’s Word is that it is always true. When we trust in this truth above our situation, we exalt Jesus Christ, who is the Truth, as Lord of our lives. We hear it, think on it, practice it, and speak it.
When we believe God’s Word in this way, we cannot help but to talk about it… because it works! It’s real! It’s the answer in every situation! And it’s always victorious! And we come to know that God’s word to us is like a faithful friend that ‘sticks closer than a brother.’ Truly, this is how we begin to have a genuine relationship with the Word of God, who is Jesus Christ.
It is also through the Spoken Word that we defeat sin and come into true life. When we confront the sin, fear, or deceptions in our lives with the Spoken Word of God, we are activating the power of Christ, who is always victorious. We develop faith that what we think, speak, hear, and experience will be pure and in perfect unity with the will of God for our lives.
We are no longer “dead in our sin” and circumstances. We no longer trust in our emotions, knowledge, or past experiences in the world. We trust the Lord Jesus Christ as the True Word that brings life. Then as we make decisions from that place of trust in Him, it is no longer we who do it, but Christ who lives in us. This is where we find His power to say “no” to sin and ungodliness and live in the freedom God intended for us.
So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.” (Romans 6:11)
What Will You Speak?
“The tongue has the power of life and death….” Proverbs 18:21
«God searches today for one through whom He can show His magnificence.»
The Word tells us that we have the power of life and death in what we say. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life…” (John 14:6). To have the power of life in our tongue is to have Jesus. He is eternal life. The Word of God is the only lasting word that will make an impact for eternity… the only word of eternal hope and love we can pass on to our children, the only lasting legacy we can leave. All other words will fall to the ground, but the Word of God will live forever.
Romans 10:8 tells us that the word of God “is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming.” (Romans 10:8)
For the one who truly seeks to live this righteous life by faith, the Word of faith is near… it lives in his heart and flows from his mouth.
So then, let us cling to God’s Spoken Word, to the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us dedicate ourselves in faith to the powerful, transformed life for which we were set apart before the world began. May we speak God’s Word with confidence and maturity, not wasting what was entrusted to us on the idle things of this world!
“For every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:36-37).
When John the Baptist was asked, “Who are you?” his simple reply was «I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.” (John 1:23)
God searches today for one through whom He can show His magnificence. Will you be His voice today? What will you speak? May you be set apart this day for God. May His Spoken Word be activated in you, that you may bring forth the everlasting, transforming words of God.
Often when I’m reading an ebook I use the highlight feature to mark passages that I’d like to review again later. This helps me pay closer attention to what I’m reading. It’s also encouraging to look back later to see what first caught my eye.
Kevin DeYoung’s book Taking God At His Word was an exceptionally good read and I found myself highlighting often. So here are just 20 of the many quotes I noted.
- …the word of God is more than enough to accomplish the work of God in the people of God. There is no better way to understand and come to embrace a biblical doctrine of Scripture than to open the cage and let Scripture out.
- To deny, disregard, edit, alter, reject, or rule out anything in God’s word is to commit the sin of unbelief.
- Authority: The last word always goes to the word of God. We must never allow the teachings of science, of human experience, or of church councils to take precedence over Scripture.
- Necessity: General revelation is not enough to save us. We cannot know God savingly by means of personal experience and human reason. We need God’s word to tell us how to live, who Christ is, and how to be saved.
- God’s word is final; God’s word is understandable; God’s word is necessary; and God’s word is enough.
- We feel rather ho-hum about the New Testament’s description of heaven, but we are mesmerized by the accounts of school-age children who claim to have gone there and back.
- God has spoken by his Son, and this Son is superior to all persons, heavenly beings, institutions, rituals, and previous means of revelation and redemption. That’s the big idea in Hebrews 1:1–4 and throughout the book. Christ is superior to angels (chs. 1–2), to Moses (ch. 3), to Joshua (chs. 3–4), to Aaron (ch. 5), to Abraham (ch. 6), to Melchizedek (ch. 7), to the old covenant (ch. 8), to the tabernacle (ch. 9), to the high priest (ch. 10), to the treasures of this world (ch. 11), to Mount Sinai (ch. 12), and to the city we have here on earth (ch. 13). The Son is our Great Superlative, surpassing all others because in him we have the fullness and finality of God’s redemption and revelation.
- There are no words of God spoken to us at all today except the words of Scripture.
- First, with the sufficiency of Scripture we keep tradition in its place… No secondary, man-made text can replace or be allowed to subvert our allegiance to and knowledge of the Bible.
- …because Scripture is sufficient, we will not add to or subtract from the word of God.
- …since the Bible is sufficient, we can expect the word of God to be relevant to all of life.
- If we learn to read the Bible down (into our hearts), across (the plot line of Scripture), out (to the end of the story), and up (to the glory of God in the face of Christ), we will find that every bit of the Bible is profitable for us.
- To affirm the sufficiency of Scripture is not to suggest that the Bible tells us everything we want to know about everything, but it does tell us everything we need to know about what matters most. …the doctrine of the sufficiency of Scripture invites us to open our Bibles to hear the voice of God.
- The word of God is more than enough for the people of God to live their lives to the glory of God.
- The most important points in the Scriptures may not be understood perfectly, but they can be understood sufficiently.
- The word of God is near, not far, right in front of you, ready to be understood and obeyed.
- We commit ourselves to the authority of the word of God because the God whose word it is informs us that we can and tells us that we must.
- Our God speaks, and he speaks not simply to be heard and not merely to pass along information. He speaks so that we can begin to know the unknowable and fathom the unfathomable.
- If you are a Christian, by definition you ought to believe what Jesus teaches. He is the Son of God. He is our Savior and Lord. We must follow his example, obey his commands, and embrace whatever understanding of Scripture he taught and assumed. Surely this means we are wise to believe about the Scriptures whatever Jesus believed about the Scriptures.
- Scripture doesn’t tell us everything we may want to know about everything. But it tells us everything we need to know about the most important things. It gives us something the Internet, with all its terabytes of information, never could: wisdom. The purpose of Holy Scripture is not ultimately to make you smart, or make you relevant, or make you rich, or get you a job, or get you married, or take all your problems away, or tell you where to live. The aim is that you might be wise enough to put your faith in Christ and be saved.
