Good Afternoon, Everyone. In honor of MLK Day, I spent the morning with the Little Ones reflecting on what it means to give back. If we don’t teach our children from when they’re little, we’re destined to repeat too many of the mistakes of the past. And that’s my “political” take on today’s theme! Have a great day, Everyone. Do good for one another! 🙋🏻♀️
🦅 He always felt that his TRUSTY METHOD of ignoring the TOXIN spew that others offered was what made him worthy to be an EAGLE Scout…and keeping with that sentiment allowed him to never RUN OUT OF ESTEEM…🦅
👫🏻 He was her TRUSTY sidekick, an EAGLE of a man,
She believed in his METHOD to do good each time you can…
No credence to the TOXIN ways that drag one to go down
A smile goes a long way…not so much wearing a frown…
She knew the road she chose was right to lead her to her dream
And it would never entertain she RUN OUT OF ESTEEM…👫🏻
Learning numbers 1 to 20 can be a lot of fun for kids and beginner English language learners. In this fun numbers lesson plan, students will learn numbers 1 to 20 while singing songs and playing games. This lesson is suitable for kids and beginner ESL students who are learning numbers for the first time. This numbers lesson plan is complete with all the materials you need, including flashcards, PowerPoints, and games. See the box below for the materials you will need for this lesson.
Warm Up And Review
Before learning numbers 1 to 20, students will first review numbers 1 to 10. A great way to do this is to sing a fun numbers song. This song by Oxford University Press is a great song for reviewing numbers 1 to 10. Play the song and ask students to sing along. As they do, encourage students to dance to the song by holding up their hands and counting with their fingers as they sing.
Introduce Numbers 11 to 20
Next, it’s time to introduce numbers 11 to 20. Using this Numbers 1 to 20 PowerPoint, say each number in order and ask students to repeat after you several times. Next, ask students to try to say each number on their own. Once students have practiced enough, it’s time to play a fun game to practice some more.
Activity 1: What’s Missing Game
The same PPT that was mentioned earlier has a ready-made ‘What’s Missing?’ game at the end that you can use for this activity. Alternatively, you can play this game with number flashcards or by simply writing numbers on the board. To play, give students five seconds to try and memorize all the numbers. Then, tell students to close their eyes. While students are not looking, remove one of the numbers and then tell all students to open their eyes. Students must then shout out which number is missing as fast as they can.
This activity is a great way to review the numbers that they have just learned as it encourages them to memorize and recall the numbers in a fun and active way.
Activity 2: Number Race
This next activity is a fun race game that students can play in pairs or in small teams. To play, first provide each team/pair of students a set of these numbers 1 to 20 flashcards. You can print and cut out these flashcards before class, or ask students to do it during class if you have time.
Next, ask students to place the numbers face down on the desk and mix them all up. Now the game can begin. When the teacher shouts “Go!“, students should work with their partner/team to quickly turn over all the cards and then place them in the correct order from 1 to 20. The first team to finish wins.
Activity 3: Numbers Worksheet
Next, it’s time for a numbers worksheet to reinforce the new numbers that students have learned during the lesson. This numbers worksheet has the words for numbers 11 to 20 with the letters jumbled up. Students should first unscramble the word, then draw a line to the correct number, and then write the correct spelling of the number in the space provided.
Review
The final part of the lesson is ofcourse to review what students have learned. A great way to do this when teaching numbers 1 to 20 is to use the numbers flashcards from before and ask students to help you put them on the board in the correct order. Place the number 1 flashcards on the board, and then ask students what number comes next, and then place that number on the board. Continue like this until all numbers 1 to 20 at displayed on the board, and then ask students to count with you all the numbers one more time.
