Games to learn German free

Games can be a great way of reinforcing the language for young learners of German. Interactive games introduce excitment and competition into the learning mix which can particularly suit some boys who are resistant to other learning (or teaching) methods.

Our German games are designed to be both simple to understand and quick to play. They are suitable for both children and adults and are designed to be played by individual players learning or revising German. The games are primarily based on matching items of vocabulary to our specially drawn topic pictures — this is done in a variety of ways in the different games. We also have a hangman game that encourages the learner with their German spelling (in addition to a pure spelling game).

All our games are available online and are free to use with all our topics — that is over 1000 vital items of German that are at the core of any beginning German course. Our games are accompanied by German lessons and tests to provide a vital free resource for German learners with limited (or no) budget. The details for each game are given on their own pages.

How to use our German Games

Click on the name of a game to go to that game page with the topic you have selected. On the game page there are instructions on how to play the game in addition to a chance to change the topic you want to play with.

All our German games are quick to play and easy to understand. You need to have seen the language you are going to play with before you play the games, either at school or using our own German tutorials. There is help available for all games by clicking the question mark button on the left of the interface.

Win 4 cells in a row by matching the cell’s picture to the correct item of vocabulary in the list. A quick game you can work through in a minute — also good for hearing the audio for all the vocabulary in the topic.

Use your keyboard arrow keys or tap your tablet screen to control the frog and catch the flies. Avoid the birds! Answer the questions to win points — you have 5 seconds only… Scoring is based on speed and the number of correct answers. Fast game, can be paused!

2. Finden Sie heraus, welche Buchstaben in dem versteckten Wort sind

   Wenn irgendwelche Buchstaben gelb markiert sind, bedeutet dies, dass dieser Buchstabe in dem verborgenen Wort enthalten ist, aber nicht mit der genauen Position in diesem Wort übereinstimmt. Wenn ein Buchstabe grün markiert ist, befindet er sich in diesem Wort und an der genauen Stelle. Bleibt der Buchstabe grau, dann ist er nicht im versteckten Wort.
   

3. Versuchen Sie, das versteckte Wort zu erraten

   Versuchen Sie es mit einem anderen Wort, oder lassen Sie es uns wissen, wenn Sie der Meinung sind, dass das Wort richtig ist.

   Wenn Sie denken, dass das versteckte Wort falsch oder falsch ist, lassen Sie es uns wissen, wenn Sie der Meinung sind, dass das Wort richtig ist. Wir werden dies auf jeden Fall so schnell wie möglich beheben.

6. Wie ändere ich den eingegebenen Buchstaben?
