From MicroWiki, the free micronational encyclopædia

Well, welcome to this word from the founder (the whole existence of which is sort of absurd, but it’s just one entry, so forgive me..)

I created this Wiki a long time ago — more than a year now — as part of a small micronational hype in Maryland, USA and mainly for personal use, and left it for dead when I returned to Germany, my home country. Apparently, things have worked out well for it and it’s not only alive, but growing fast. I must say that everyone who contributed to this deserves all praise — you, ladies and gentlemen, and an especial note here is also deserved by the Portuguese community who amazingly created their own wiki — have done a deed I thought to be impossible.

I am truly amazed by the great spirit and energy everyone has invested in «MicroWiki», and somehow regret that I haven’t been here to see it grow up to this point. After all, the world of micronations is threatened by only one major danger: inconsistency and inactivity. Someone once said that as long as something happens — whether bad or good — a community can not die — and this is something all micronational founders should remember to keep their nations alive.

In any case, you came here to read about micronations, not some pointless babble from someone who incidentally was the first one to request the creation of a micronational wiki. I will do my best to keep this wiki clean from now on and may it grow — towards the next 100 entries!

Sincerely,

Education is the most precious thing that a child can be given. Education defines a person – who she is going to be, what she is going to be like and how she is going to live her life. Therefore, tertiary education, the final phase of formal education, plays the most critical role. This is where young people are given their final preparation for the adult world – one is full of opportunities but also full of many challenges.

It is with this understanding in mind that we at Erican College endeavour to offer tertiary education that is inspiring, practical and results-driven. Our mission is very simple – to churn out graduates who are sought-after, capable, creative and ambitious. We want to ensure that our graduates are the absolute bests in their chosen fields. To accomplish this, we collaborate with reputable universities from around the world to offer our students solid international pathways. We also work with employers, both locally as well as overseas, to ensure that our students have access to solid, quality employment opportunities upon graduation.

Most significantly, we have pioneered a success-themed tertiary concept, the first of its kind in Asia. We have developed a comprehensive programme with a duration of 2 years – called the Erican Success Programme. This programme is compulsory for all Erican students, regardless of the disciplines they are currently pursuing. Our rationale is simple – success qualities and strategies are universal. Sound technical knowledge and insights within an industry coupled with sound success strategies and wisdom are the winning formula for our career-minded graduates.

I sincerely hope that you will choose to embark on this exciting academic journey with Erican College. We are excited to be able to play our role in helping you to achieve whatever it is you set your mind to achieve.

Yes, you can!

A Word From the Founder: Earlier this year I decided it was time to focus on a vision I’ve had for years: owning my own business doing something that made a difference in the lives of others.

This wasn’t a decision made easily or quickly. Whether or not I realized it, I’d been preparing myself for this change for years, with the most concentrated preparation happening the last several months with meaningful focus on my purpose and vision. And guess what? I found it.

Why Leader’s Voice?

I started Leader’s Voice to help professional women move up in their career by owning their voice in a more powerful way. I do this through executive coaching, group coaching, and workshops. There’s a clear need in today’s business world for women to move up and in to leadership positions. Women’s voices are powerful, insightful, and valuable, and do contribute in meaningful ways in business and in life. Yet many women aren’t quite sure what their voice even is or how to be heard. And I can relate.

Voice hasn’t always been my strong suit. Lack of attention as a shy child from a family of seven children. Ignored by my peers as an overweight teen. Appreciated, but rarely respected and listened to in my professional career.

Overcoming each of these challenges has helped shape the person I am today as founder and executive coach of Leader’s Voice.

I identified three traits of my personality that I could own and use to give me my edge: character, confidence, and competence.

Character

Though shy as a child, I was always kind. Kind people are eternal optimists, choosing to love even when it may be difficult. This character trait is as much a part of me as my physical traits and has carried me through life.

Confidence

I made a choice in my late teen years to overcome my weight issue through physical work and determination. Since then, I’ve taken on marathons, a figure competition, CrossFit, and becoming a yoga instructor. The key to growing my confidence was consistently making and exceeding goals. As a bonus, my physical transformation helped to push my confidence to great heights!

Competence

Kicking off my career in home construction seemed a likely fit, as I was raised building homes with my dad, a general contractor. I was optimistic I would excel. What I hadn’t anticipated was the challenges I would face as a female in a male-dominated industry.

Reaching the director status in my corporate job wasn’t easy. My credibility was often questioned. I was mistakenly pegged as the secretary or assistant on the job site. I’d been interrupted, dismissed, and overlooked when I spoke up in meetings.

As a young professional, I struggled with my response to those situations. I hadn’t learned to speak up. I hadn’t yet found my voice.

So I sought a better approach. I used my three strengths to contribute to my team in valuable ways, remained positive despite challenges, and observed and engaged in strong leadership.

The result? I excelled in my career. I myself became a strong, capable, and respected leader. All of that led to my professional climb from manager to senior manager to director.

But I hadn’t peaked yet!

Reaching director status changed the game. I had to develop my Leader Voice in order to be heard, get my ideas out, and be taken seriously.

Voice is at the center of everything that leads to career success. Voice is what helps you ask for things you need and get them; negotiate conflict with positive results for all involved; and say what needs to be said, be heard, and be taken seriously.

Today, it’s my mission to help women develop their unique Leader Voice, and that’s why I’m here. I’m beyond excited to embark on this journey and look forward to fulfilling my mission.

If I could find my voice, I can help women find theirs.

“And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them and blessed them.” Mark 10:16

Thanks for visiting our website.

The vision for ROCK International was birthed in Cairo, Egypt, in 2006 while working among street children. Needing a platform from which to strategically work to bless these precious kids, I considered joining other organizations, but three things burdened my heart.

First, I didn’t want to spend ten years working behind a desk, rather than being out with the children God had placed on my heart. Second, knowing that people give sacrificially, I wanted 100% of their gifts to be invested into projects that bless kids and not into the salaries of workers. (To this day, no North American workers receive salaries from ROCK. They receive support through other channels.) Third, my prayer was that our mission would touch the physical for the sake of the eternal and not be merely a social-work organization. In everything we do, our heartbeat is to share the love and good news of Jesus Christ.

The world doesn’t need more organizations, but rather, individuals who actually believe that Jesus meant what He said. At ROCK International, our heart is to be the “lap of Jesus” (as seen in Mark 10:16) to children who are victims of abuse, danger, disaster, and neglect. ROCK exists to provide relief, opportunity and care for kids and to bless them and their communities for time and eternity by developing and distributing resources which declare God’s story and message clearly, captivatingly, and chronologically (Luke 24:27).

We do not view ourselves as parachurch. Instead, we are a tool used by local churches and individual believers to access, minister to, and equip youth in nations around the world. ROCK International is not denominationally-based, but Gospel-based with a desire to see the body of Christ be ONE just as Jesus prayed before going to the cross (John 17:21).

Thank you for your prayers for these precious children and those working among them. Let us not pray to God out of desperation, but rather let us recognize that we are always in desperate need of Him. Let us acknowledge that without God, we can do nothing. Your prayers are vital.

Your Partner in the Gospel,
Nathan

— Nate Bramsen continues to serve with ROCK International as Executive Director. In 2018, he married Priyanka Mathews (now Bramsen) of Houston, TX, and today carries out a global itinerant speaking schedule, internet ministries, and helps oversee international missional endeavors. He and Priyanka share a vision to see this younger generation mobilized among the unreached. He is the author of What If Jesus Meant What He Said? which is a call to today’s youth to be unconditional followers of Jesus Christ.
