I love this book. I bought it a while ago but never used it. After the turbulent journey over the past two years I cracked it open. I used it daily in a group chat for myself, my sister and my best friend. Currently we are on day 60 and have 2 days left. This has been a great help as we are on a journey to a more positive mindset!

I’ve bought this for myself & later for my sister. This book is so necessary for people (mainly women) who have been through hardships or are currently going through hardship. I read one passage a day and if I want to contemplate a particular passage for much longer, I re-read it each day for a week until I’m ready to move on to the next passage. I feel the negative reviewers have issues with this book because they’re reading it one way; just reading the whole book through in one go. This isn’t that type of book. Yes, it’s a thin book, but every passage has a deeper meaning and someone would be remiss if they didn’t take the time to fully digest the different messages Alexandra is conveying.

Review: Wise words for the 21st-century wanderer. If you’ve ever felt lost or misunderstood, broken and shambled, dismissed and discarded, this book is for you. Elle writes from an informal perspective in parts of the book, while keeping a first person omniscient narrator as the book contains “notes to self”. Love poems like “One and the same” (35) and “Breathtaking” (37) emphasize the overwhelming pleasure one experiences with one’s true love, while “#anote2self” explains the process of forgiving the loved ones who have hurt you, in lieu of despair, in pursuit of acceptance and admiration of one’s self, “The beauty in all the hurt is the resilience of the heart – trust me, you will love again.” (29)
Words From A Wanderer targets no age group or ethnic culture, but targets the broken hearted in an attempt to let the reader know, that he/she is not alone in what they are feeling. It was the most touching book of poetry I’ve read recently. It is uplifting, emphatic of the culture of love/despair that has since flourished in our society, and eye-opening. Overall, a great read and a wonderful experience.

I just started this because I needed to take a moment to focus back on myself. I have been reading a page a day…that is the most effective way to read these daily reminders. Reading it straight through won’t have the same effect. Her words are powerful. I start each morning with a new page and it sets the tone for the day. Alex Elle’s words are a blessing. Anyone looking for assistance on their journey of self love, healing, strength and regaining your power , this is the book for you!

Let me first start out by saying that I love Alex!!! I first found out about her from Instagram and started to fall in love with her, her journey, and family. She has a beautiful soul and you will see that in her writings!
This book has helped me so much. Even though I wish it could have been a little longer, I would defitenly say that her words are powerful and she doesn’t have to say much to woo you. For people who don’t like reading short books, my advice is read a page a day and mediate on it to truly enjoy it.
She is a great writer and I plan on purchasing more books from her soon.

I found Alex Elle on Instagram and twitter from a natural hair blog. I always noticed her empowering words she would post; so of course when her book came out I knew I needed to buy it and support. This book has given me so much support and has inspired me to write as a form of expression. I had the opportunity to meet Alex a few weeks ago in Philadelphia and she signed my book. She is a wonderful woman and very down to earth. She was very appreciative for the support. This book has definitely brightened my mood on down days and has made good days even better. If you want something to carry around as an emotional «pick me up», or a spark of creativity, PURCHASE THIS BOOK.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter-in-law and I was embarrassed to give it to her. It’s essentially a poem, spread out over lots of pages with one or two lines per page. Really a waste of money and time.

Words From A Wanderer is a compilation of notes and poetry. This book was created with hopes of uplifting and encouraging readers in many ways.
“I started writing notes to myself because a little self-love can go a long way.»
So from the description this sounded like an incredibly timely and beautiful book, but I ended up pretty disappointed. The writing isn’t really poetic, rather quite simple. Also, a lot of the «notes to self» felt distant and not as personal as I was hoping.
But I managed to find a few gems with nice little illustrations to feature in this review:
Overall, this compilation was a pretty okay read — nothing bad, nothing spectacular — and it was something to add to my poetry shelf.

A short little book full of notes for one’s self and little poems. The writing was rather flat and simple, not poetic.
I know this book is supposed to be uplifting and empowering, but to me, it only felt like «been there, done that», nothing new that I haven’t read before, thought about or even told myself.
It was an okay read nonetheless, nothing out of ordinary.

The best book I have ever read.
I am currently in pieces right now, broken, I must say.
A recent lover bid goodbye
And all was left are tears uncried.
This book uplifted my entire being. It brought me to tears, not the sad tears but an overwhelming gratefulness kind of tears. I found a friend. I found a very good friend in a book. It is a good kind of friendship. And I intend to go back to the pages over and over again.

A peaceful book about different thoughts of Alexandra Elle, a wanderer, just like you and me.
And here goes below the best quotes of the book:
«Dear Self,
If you keep going backwards with the same people that God has intentionally removed from your life, you will continue to stay stuck. There is no joy in being confused and unhappy. Get rid of old bad habits and leave them where they belong. What is meant for you will be yours, learn to let go. Dysfunction isn’t love.
Sincerely,
Self»
«Dear Self,
Assumptions will ruin your beautiful mind. Be aware of what you’re entertaining, even in thought.»
«Hesitant Self,
Love your neighbor, even the ones who do not show you the same courtesy. You can’t expect to receive love if you’re selective and not really willing to give it. What you put into the world, you will indeed get back, even if it’s not from the person you’re expecting it to be.
Love,
Self»
«There is no layaway in love. You cannot beg and plead a person to give you what’s rightfully theirs, especially if they aren’t willing to share. If a man isn’t ready to love you, let him be. Despite how much you think you want or need someone else, you don’t. Prepare yourself so that when the right one comes along , you’re ready and able to love them with your whole heart and not just pieces of it.»
«Sometimes it’s not the physical person that I miss but the
energy we shared…»

This is such a beautiful book. I just read it all at once, not able to wait once I found out it was free here on goodreads. It switches back and forth from poems to ‘notes to self’ which is really cute. So inspiring and some parts really make you think.

Felt like I’m reading instagram quotes!!
The notes where very repetitive (the essence of the notes and the words that where used i.e. ‘worthy’ and ‘forgiveness’). It also felt like I was reading an old diary from when I was sixteen years old and we all know how cringeworthy that is…But nonetheless 2 stars for the self-love message!

a small book that’s worth a read.
narration of the author really is awesome.
simple writing style wonderfully crafted.
have a millions of stuffs for reflection though it’s only a 30 minutes read.
this book as a whole is some random thoughts, lovely poetries, sweet romantic self reflection , self love and lot more. And everything that’s shuffled over the few pages haphazardly with the scattered tiny designs make this book pretty.

I ended up reading this book because of all the quotes I saw on Tumblr from this book as well as the numerous positive reviews I’ve seen online.
I did like this book. There were multiple memorable quotes that stuck with me and that I related to.
I could relate to the authors journey — a sense of loving yourself and reassuring yourself… but because this book is a compilation of notes I felt that some of the messages were bitsy and incomplete. Perhaps if the author had grouped her notes and poems by category and given a little bit more of a contextual background rather than it being like a few pages out of her diary it could’ve been much better.
Unfortunately, personally I didn’t feel that this book was «life changing» but I can see how it has been for some — broadened their perspectives and touched them in some way. I also write poetry and written peices so much of what was written I relate to and am currently going through, so it was no new truths for me.

This was a lovely little book.
“I’ve been hurt so bad and I still love so hard. I admire my heart for that.”
“Love your neighbor. Even the ones who do not show you the same courtesy. You can’t expect to receive love if you’re selective and not really willing to give it. What you put into the world, you will indeed get back. Even if it’s not from the person you’re expecting it to be.”

There were some memorable quotes indeed, but as I reached the ending I was left with an incomplete feeling. The self-love quotes and poems were surely the most successful aspect of this book. I absolutely adore Alex, but I suppose I expected more. There were many quotes/poems that seemed hurried and underdeveloped. Overall, 3.5 stars. It just needs more substance.

The Little Book That Knows What It Is.
“This little book is a compilation of some comforting things I’ve had to tell myself to get through the toughest days of my life.” — Alexandra Elle [Note from her book]
You can read Words from a Wanderer in an hour or less read. This book contains little poems and notes for self-love, improvement, and healing. On Alexandra Elle website bio it reads: Her mission is to build community & self-care practices through literature & language… which is what you sense throughout reading Words from a Wanderer.
Two of my favorite poems/notes from the book:
“The heart is resilient and forgiving. It is the mind that causes us stress.»
Dear Self,
Continue to walk in your purpose. Allow God to guide your footsteps and positivity will lead your thoughts.
Love,
Self
“Raise your sons to respect women, your daughters to respect themselves and vice versa.
Raise your daughters to love their sisters so that one day they can work together without competition in mind.
Show your sons what love looks like. Allow them to cry and grow so they can blossom and become men who are not scared of emotions but compassionate toward the feelings of others.
Our children are sacred.
Try to set an amazing foundation for them the best way you know how.”

Screaming galaxies and dancing nebulae filled my eyes.
Their celestial quality subdued all.
But one brave old soul parked his Honda with a
grating whining belt.
The car’s engine stopped with a bone broken clack.
But the man’s words were like feathers gently gliding above my head, each spelling itself out in a sickening vision. Each letter fell, pieces of a cushion, down between my fingers.
A solemn void.
Finally he too understood;
it is my burden to wander.

Hell and Back: Devil Dance, PT 1. When you’ve lived in hell, life becomes a bit easier to stomach and a tad bit sweeter to swallow. The little things don’t wear you down as much and the burdens of daily struggles seem to be accomplished with ease. I’ve been to hell and back—it wasn’t as hot there as I had imagined. Maybe that was because my soul was already set on fire or my heart had been torched and scarred with burns by past lovers. I wasn’t sure why the temperature didn’t bother me. I walked around barefoot with the devil and wasn’t sure how I ended up hand in hand with him. On any account, it wasn’t on purpose He showed me around and we bartered my soul. I didn’t want to stay there but he wouldn’t let me go.

Dear Self, Please do not be foolish; people treat you how you allow them to. If you want different results stop settling with the same people and for the same things. If you want to see a change in your existence, be the change. Life isn’t as complicated as we make it and love isn’t as hard as we claim it is. If you want something, work for it. Be honest in your actions and give this world great reasons to love you. Smile at yourself every once in a while, just because. Continue being great, generous and grand. Love, Self Dear Self, You have been doubted, hated, talked about, made fun of, hurt, lied to, lied on, broken and at your wits end. With that being said, I commend you for the fact that you are still standing. Your courage speaks volumes! I know your struggle and the pain you’ve endured; you are more than a conqueror. I am proud to say that your heart belongs to me. Nothing can keep you down and no one can steal your joy. All of your storms have ended up blessing the sky with rainbows. Don’t give up, continue to stand tall and love yourself first. You are appreciated, Self 16

Some Timing Sometimes, I don’t think I am pretty but some days I smile when I pass the mirror. Sometimes, I don’t feel worthy but then I look at my ref lection and see my daughter, mother and grandmother — whom are worthy of all things; that in itself says a lot about me. Some days I don’t want anything to do with anyone but then I remember who’s been there for me when I’ve had no one. Sometimes shit sucks, other times, not so much. I’ve come to the conclusion that I need balance in my life so these “sometimey” feelings are welcomed to stay. If everything was all good all the time, I would be miserable and if everything was all bad, I’d feel the same. My ups and downs are reminiscent of yin and y ang; they need each other to help me get through the good and bad days.

#anote2self Loving Self, No matter how bad you want a person, if your hearts are in two different places, you’ll have to pass and move on. Love, Self
Generous Self, Yes, you are giving but do not give people the power to steal your peace. It belongs to you and no one should be able to run away with it. Love, Self
Hesitant Self, Love your neighbor, even the ones who do not show you the same courtesy. You can’t expect to receive love if you’re selective and not really willing to give it. What you put into the world, you will indeed get back, even if it’s not from the person you’re expecting it to be. Love, Self

I am a strong believer that enabling/putting up with mistreatment dictates how we may feel about ourselves. You have to a sk yourself, “What am I missing and/or seeking ?” You may love and want someone but who do you want and love more, them or yourself ? Letting go is sometimes essential in growing up. Learn to truly love yourself first; once that happens there will be no question about what’s for you and what’s not.
23
#anote2self Dear SelfThere’s a blessing in ever y breath you take. Even when it’s hard to breathe, you have yet to suffocate. I commend you for your endurance even when the air is thick—keep breathing, keep loving, keep going. Love, Self Dear Self, When you are truly stunning, gorgeous and beautiful, you won’t have to prove that to anyone visually. Love, Self
Dear Self, When you really love someone your heart might always beat for them. Just because that is so, it doesn’t mean that they will always dance for you. Keep in mind that you don’t have to stop the rhythm, just adjust the pace. Love, Self 24
Love yourself first. Buy your own f lowers, tell yourself how beautiful you are. Don’t expect anyone to love you more than you do. When you meet a partner, you shouldn’t have expectations of f lattery. The beautiful words and things will mean very little when you’re already showering yourself with them first. Expectations can ruin love when y ou’re seeking to fill a void.
25
#anote2self Dear Self, Your king is coming, please continue to be patient. You’ve kissed some frogs and you’ve learned some lessons. Now it’s time to prepare yourself and Queendom for the ONE who is worthy. I know you get lonely and worried but fear not, your love is being prepared carefully and especially for you. Love, Self
Dear Self, You will get what you genuinely bring to the table in a partnership. Bring love and communication to your table, bring humility to your table, bring honesty and trust and use respect as your table cloth. That’s the perfect table setting! And if your partner can cook, well, there ya go! Often times we are what we attract and if you don’t want messiness keep a clean house. Love, Self
26
#anote2self
Dear Self, Find peace in silence. Love, Self
27
#anote2self
Dear Self, I need you to learn how to forgive the ones who have wronged you. You say you do, you may even smile and wave but deep down you hoard hurt and distaste. It’s important that you start to see the value of forgiveness, not just for the sake of others but for your own. Being forgiving to those who you feel are “unworthy” does not make you weak. The ability to do so speaks to your heart and your character. Be wise and exude kindness despite if you feel as though someone is deserving or not. Your pride is bigger than you sometimes but that alone will continue to keep you guarded and unsatisfied. You cannot expect to be forgiven if you’re not willing to have a yielding love toward your neighbor. Love, Self
28
One day you will have to be OK with the fact that they are never coming back. There will come a time that you will stop counting the seconds, minutes, hours and days of their return. You won’t wait by the phone forever, knowing that it’s not go ing to ring and be the person you’re longing for. Eventually jumping when your phone buzzes with a text, that you want to be from them, will be a thing of the past—trust me, missing them will pass. The bad memories may even fade to black eventually. One day you will not hold a grudge for them breaking your heart and making you cry. You will laugh at the little stupid lies they told you when trying to pull the wool over your eyes. There will come a time when you don’t look at the relationship as a regret but as a l esson. You will stop holding them accountable for your misery and hurt and start smiling again. The beauty in all the hurt is the resilience of the heart—trust me, you will love again.
29
There is no layaway in love. You cannot beg and plead a person to give you what’s rightfully theirs, especially if they aren’t willing to share. If a man isn’t ready to love you, let him be. If a woman isn’t prepared to give you her all, let her go. Despite how much you think you want or need someone else, you don’t. Prepare yourself so that when the right one comes along, you’re ready and able to love them with your whole heart and not just pieces of it.
30
Comfort Zone I seek refuge in you like I do my blanket on cold winter nights and even though you keep me warm, I still haven’t a clue what love is like. We say it like we mean it but that’s a learned behavior and both of us know we can’t get too comfortable with being one another’s savior.
Practice makes “perfect” but love makes it worth it.
Descend He must’ve seen it falling… Thank God for him, he d idn’t let it hit the ground, he gently scooped it up and placed it back in my chest. I guess I lost it in the midst of all the heartache… I’m wondering if it fled because of the fear of breaking. He wouldn’t let it run away, unless it was with him.
31
Top 10 You don’t have to apologize for how you feel. Be true to who you are and honest to others. If you are leading people on then it’s time to let them go, be fair to the hearts you encounter. Commit if you can and love if you want. Do not make promises that you aren’t willin g to keep. All intentions aren’t good ones. Make sure you not only mean well but that you’re doing well. Think before you speak, it’s OK to talk to yourself first. If you’re not really ready to commit don’t force it. Try not to run from your fears, accept the challenge to face them. Life teaches lessons, pay attention.
32
Let Me Let me see you, come here. Let me hold your hand and marvel at one of God’s greatest creations. I’m trying not to be biased because I love you but y ou’re beautiful and I can’t help but stare Take your time with me. I am in no rush to pass the seconds that we spend because they turn into the minutes in which are ours to wallow in. Can you see me? My goose bumps will lead the way, close your eyes and enjoy this selfish pride that only surrenders selfless to you. Let me know you I will kneel humbly at your feet so that y ou know you can walk with me. A king needs his queen, neither of which is superior. Equally yoked—your rib, my backbone. You exhale as I inhale the greatness you choose to share with me.
33
Light A love so bright that it makes the sun and stars envy us.
34
One in the same I know why they love him because I once loved him too but to them he is their sunshine, with me, well, he just leaves me blue. They gawk at his charisma and charming good looks but to me he is a liar, a thief and a crook. I know they think his love will never ever end but when they cause him stress, he blindly f lees to me again. His colors are so radiant but his heart follows his wandering eyes— the trophies aren’t enough if the prize doesn’t shine. His spirit is polyamorous and that is something he cannot hide… One isn’t enough, especially when he’s done and had his fun— they might be his moon today but tomorrow I’ll be his sun.
35
Past Pleasures You used to bury your head near my clavicle and inhale—I made sure I smelled as sweet as sugar just for you. I often wonder if you long for my hands on the back of your neck or my fingertips whispering to earlobe. I miss you falling asleep in my lap, I could look at you all day. That closeness made me care so much more Your faux love was my favorite drug and now these occasional withdrawals suck. I think about you often but not enough to text and I wonder about your happiness but not enough to call and check. Forcing myself to remember has now become harder than encouraging my mind to forget
36
Breathtaking It doesn’t matter that he loves me hard enough to hurt me The strength of his grasp refuses to loosen and the truth is, I rather him not let me go. He’s the yes to my answers and the veins in which my blood f lows freely Memorized by those coffee brown eyes, his skin color reminds me of the sun’s glow. Sweet to the taste, he enables my lungs to inhale his naturally fragrant scent of sexy. His presence is a blessing that blesses me with more than ju st love but pure heaven sent passion and admiration for a soul as beautiful as his. Dreaming of the day that I can have his last name and use these hips to bear the seeds that he plants. The slightest glance of h im gives me chills and to know that he adores me more than more is mind boggling, heart stopping and wonderful. It doesn’t matter that he loves me hard enough to hurt me because he won’t The strength of his grasp tightens firmly around my torso as we lay there pacing one another’s breath with our bare chests—he breathes and I follow, matching his heart rate to a tee. I believe in love now, i t’s breathtaking, unmistakably amazing and soothing. My dreams came true when I met you.
37
Enthralled His intelligence is what wooed her in How he took interest in her art and not just her words. How he memorized her story and c ould tell it with his mouth closed, Hand in hers without a sound escaping his vocal cords, it was that kind of connection. He’s earned her memory so now she considers his feelings, remembers his actions and appreciates his effort She can tell he’s got that good brain and she l oves his beautiful mind.
Treasure Torture This isn’t infatuation for me. I am not sure what it is for him but I will not judge his heart-either way, either or. These feelings aren’t fleeting, they are steady and even… Something that I have never experienced when engulfed in the lust of others.
38
He encourages my thought process, he turns me up and on. I am pleased to say that he just might even enhance my ability to see love clearly. Miles apart but I don’t think light-years could keep me away, he does laps within my memory and I’d prefer if he’d stay. My heart wants him now or never but that’s because she’s new to this. I’ll treasure him although it tortures her to fathom someone else getting her first kiss.
Love isn’t supposed to hurt us, it’s meant to heal. You are worthy of the real thing. Find that mutual respect and adoration will follow suit.
Sometimes it’s not the physical person that I miss but the energy we shared…
39
Dear Future Lover, I’d like to meet you one day. I often wonder what it would feel like to lay with you, to inhale your comfort and intertwine in the happiness of our silence. Maybe I’ll get to kiss you and count the lines in your palm or miss you until I can’t take anymore of you being gone. I hope you think about me and wonder where I am, I’d love to meet you one day but until then, here I stand. Potentially Yours, Self
40
#anote2self Dear Self, If you ask and get no answer, sometimes the silence that bounces back is the loudest truth. Be app reciative and open hearted to any stillness you receive. Everything isn’t meant to be yours and everyone isn’t worthy enough to hold a place in your space. Quiet is Good, Self
Dear Self, Like the flowers in spring, I love how you always come back to life. No matter the struggle you make it through. What a journey, what a blessing. Grown Beautifully, Self
41
I’ve been hurt so bad and I still love so hard. I admire my heart for that.
42
43
Believe in something greater than yourself. Love a little harder. Learn something different. Let your feelings be. Embrace the changes. Cry when you want to. Sob when you have to. Share a smile with a stranger. Laugh until your tummy hurts and cheeks ache. Enjoy the moments of life even if they hurt. Allow your heart to mend. Be open to trusting again. Your happiness is in your hands.
The Lost Art C shaped, fingers linked, hearts humming from the rhythm of each beat. Hair tousled, legs linked, lips lingering on the back of my neck. Comforter half on, bodies half hot. The lost art of cuddli ng has me longing to paint a mural of this moment.
44
Staying broken never works because you will continue to cut yourself. I know what it feels like to be shattered but I am also familiar with the ama zing sensation of being pieced back together. Do not beat yourself up; you are indeed a llowed to fail before succeeding.
I am not a fan of insects but the butterflies he leaves behind are more than welcomed to stay inside and nestle in the pits of my belly.
Love without peace will leave you with nothing but chaos. A peaceful love cannot exist without balance and respect. Expect nothing and your spirit will accept all of the g oodness that’s meant for you in this life.
When you meet your match in someone, even if it’s not meant to be a romantic connection, keep them close. Everyone is not destined to be a part of your everyday but the ones who are should be cherished and aware of their place in your life.
45
Be yourself wholeheartedly. Speak the truth always. Keep your word and back what you say with actions.
Give love a chance. Don’t expect perfection because you won’t get it. Understand that there will be mistakes. Know what to hold onto and what to let go. Don’t bring tons of baggage to a new space and experience. Develop meaningf ul relationships with people you know are willing to match your effort. Ever yone is not out to hurt you—don’t miss out on a beautiful thing because you’re insecure. He isn’t him and she isn’t her. Allow pe ople to prove to you that they are in it for the long r un.
46
Vow I sit and watch him closely. I have a feeling that he thinks I am weird but that’s OK. His movements I have memorized and his smile warms my soul from the soles of my chucks. The warm sensation races up, up and away—past the heart that I love him with. He’s amazing. I wish I could part my lips to speak but most moments I cannot. He kisses me when he knows that love has got my tongue. His beauty leaves me muted and all I can do is stare at the one man who deserves more than my left hand.
47
Pouring Peace I had to learn to embrace the rain. I needed to realize that cloudy days were sometimes more than alright. Crying in the shower is where I felt most sane, most safe. The scorching hot water l eft welts on my brown skin but at least the dirty tears were given a place to be washed away. I was ashamed and hurting for so long. Hiding was my only option when the sunshine had taken heed to the horizon. I am OK now. The sunlight isn’t the only thing that makes me happy anymore now that I can endure my storms.
Love and Light, Alex Elle

If you follow her on social networks, there is absolutely no need to purchase the book. I am so mad I spent $10 on words that are already on her Instagram and Twitter account. While she is insightful, and beautifully expresses her ideas — 75% of the poems can be found on her social network accounts. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I started following the author on Instagram as a recommendation from a friend. Her posts are often very interesting. however, if you do follow her on her social networks, there isn’t much need to buy the book. Her posts are pretty much from the book. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the life lessons and was particularly impressed considering she is only 23 years old. The title, however, does not relate to the book. But if you’re into poetry, self-improvement, and love you’ll likely enjoy this.

With Elle’s romance communication wet to the dry bone and cute summers rolled back in picture forms Elle looks from divided texts like a secretive business human in this collection’s self-preparation writs and hot a half-wild imagination suits her weathered tastes, I’ve dedicated myself in reading thus far, and a week ago I was bedazzled from her womanly claims that she must be pregnant when it happens and that all intentions are bad according to Elle. On the store’s Unlimited Kindle App Elle’s black and white literature stands out applying shredded trees in a kind of saturated work of art, myself clicking away on my phone to go through note after note of Elle’s conditioned freedom, 2 ½ inch pages rolling near my phone face and beginning the stormy tales back to my enthused consciousness. Freedom can’t exist without abstraction. Words bright with the shining sights, Elle participates in her proclamations which can be mixed up with others’ and designate her shrouded character of daily quips, but Elle reels up with some horrific sensations instead of waiting quietly in the dust. Elle pinpoints during modes of relaxation at past references and intrinsic emotions; she can smile faster than she can write even if it pains her at precious moments. She closes her book and stands debating whether her elapsed history is a fork or a knife; she gets aroused on the idea of having plenty of children with a gross metaphor being “seeds,” even if her past experiences wash out one passion for another. In fact, she’s a lady with lots of shades of so many colors: what happened in the past might startle her now. Great numbers of passions in her falling mind keep her in imaginary company even if citizens don’t always abide to each other, making her doubt and refute those memes she inscribes, causing her to tank the long silent nights due to growing measures beside her bed teared up. When I talk about tears, think of tears instead of tears so your dreams don’t wake up too ravishingly when there’s danger at the door and a believer begs elusive pardons; when Doctor Elle says things can get worse from here, I think her deniable hopes churns the butter soft and sweet since her fantasized days of love slumbers. So by 2016 Autumn (an autumn after the millennium) on my tread of abstract literacy with a floating screen book over the fleshy digits as I handle it, Elle’s self-hospitality and cuddly notions invite her into more nosy affection to bring her spirit of mild despair toward guideful coming attractions of openness and comprehendible fatigue. Elle’s statements of vague wisdom go along like soaring bubbles as each poem or note is fairly fixed with Elle’s varying tones of voice; I get picturesque hints, Elle’s flowing vibes kind of scrambling until there’s more than enough knots in her delightful input. Or perhaps many boys loved her- after all, boys are chicks too. I may talk about Elle’s disoriented worlds of thought as her ladled passions burn up inside her mind with the momentary silence of doom, but she combats against it with a cute fever and determines relationships as clean before and after the messes. Elle moves closer to her passions to also get away from them as thirst bright creeps into my mouth sandwich behind wisdom teeth; I play with my mouth as a poet and ramble out her phrases “A Note2 Self- Dear Self” seeking psychological approval as much as I can imagine it. I sense distress of glee in her context of meaning when informal proportions to her natural exaggerations quite inform me of Elle’s enthusiasm over healing. Isn’t it significant that Elle puts one of Tolkien’s poems about the book’s front page, maybe aware that their talents aren’t in the easy reach of circles? She listens to the most sensational dreams when horror possibly exists in them in bits; then, as if it’s her forte, there’s dominating regression on her part and she starts to downplay storms, pregnancies, and selective circumstances. It’s not hard to create new ideas, but old ideas are sometimes pieces of cake which must constantly move around and fill up one’s senses. Elle’s gender of baby making is like this box that a female must think outside of once in a blue moon; sex even mentions a redheaded heart asking about a lazy guy, exclusive motions from the buildings keeping passions at their thrills. Poetry isn’t merely romantic; agony’s involved for numerous fish. Elle grooves low and silent at many epic points until female communication reaches this roar of the positive millennium: years of regret have dripped into the bucket she kicks while being alive, so dim circles come around her sanity. Obviously when there’s my feelings for her feelings philosophy becomes just gust one around poor barren shoes I own; the amen is already there, like a cat in a fair rather than a dog in a fight, and her passions have to mix up with her emotions so the lady can walk the plank and come out swimming. As Elle talks around without visits to obvious notions of passion, the enticing attitude over her literary temple opens up to giant rooms of her engrossed imagination although “Words from a Wanderer” isn’t extreme in external concepts; that’s to explain she probably wonders so much about herself that she doesn’t always know who she is: there’s theories about mannerisms that are commonplace for a woman’s identity, so there’s more information in the book about emotions than about actions. As a matter of fact, even her emotion info is based on generalizations instead of concrete problems. The poetic author leans over my psyche with condensed orations; still, Tolkien’s poem about “crownless kings” complements Alexandra Elle’s small bit of visionary conversation about “stormy sunshine.” The book doesn’t explicate the conundrums but shines upon them, Elle taking baby steps and adult strolls to illustrate encouraging romance over herself as a wild flower with seeds and popularity that’s at the tip of her tongue.

Very true and great inspiration for those who seem «lost» or «stuck»… Sometimes we think everyone is moving forward and we’re standing still. Alex breaks it down and let’s us know that it’s part of life and your journey. Poems made me laugh and some made me cry. Overall a great read!

It is a rather short book, but I still wholeheartedly believe that it is worth the purchase. I had read Alexandra Elle’s «Neon Soul» and I thoroughly enjoyed it, which is what sparked my interest in her other works. «Words from a Wanderer» reads day-by-day (hence the «62 days of self-affirming notes»). If you are looking for something to keep you occupied for large amounts of time, this might not be the kind of book worth looking into — and other reviews do bash it for being mediocre and not very imaginative, but some of these are deeper, even if they are on the shorter side. I also really enjoyed «Milk and Honey» by Rupi Kaur, «Whiskey, Words, and a Shovel I, II, and III» by R.H. Sin, etc., just to give you my taste in other books.

Powerful book! Wow. Elle’s book has revealed aspects of my life that I didn’t even realize were spiritually damaging to me: how easily/often I judge others, make assumptions, doubt myself. Ever since I bought this book two weeks ago, four other people in my close circle of friends/family have also gotten a copy and tell me how much it has helped them spiritually.
The writing is simple and to the point- so much so that you cannot deny its truth. You feel like you’re affirming these quotes to yourself in a mirror, hence the #anote2self theme. I feel like her quotes are truths I can’t escape, because she’s written and articulated them on the page- whether I want to accept them or not. This is definitely a must-read for anyone trying to manage this complex and often emotionally challenging thing called life.

For those complaining about short poems, this book does say «daily affirmation notes.» I enjoyed this book and how eloquently she says so much, with such few words. I often open a note, and try to affirm that into my day or write about it at night. It’s a great short read and a good gift book!

Before you buy this book… Be aware that it’s a self-published, instagram author…I didn’t look it up or put that together. Look up the author’s social media first, get a feel for her work; see if you enjoy what she’s about. It was not for me—I would have known if I checked out her work first and realized this was a self-published work.
Sorry, it was like reading my own journal, but worse.

I’m a picker at an the store warehouse and pulled this small paperback out of bin one day and decided to skim through it and fell in love. I love the life lessons and beings that I have anxiety I decided to purchase it for the motivation. I carry it with me where ever I go and read it whenever I need a quick pick- me- up. Although the paperback should be the price of the ‘kindle version’ I think it was totally worth it.

I am always interested to read about other people. The lives of others are forever interesting, and its amazing to see how many people deal with the same insecurities that you do.
Words from a Wanderer was an insight into someone else’s life and definitely made an impact on my outlook. The passages that were notes written to herself were so perfect. I highlighted the majority of them and will go back and read them for sure.
The passages fit the title of the book perfectly. The author has a wandering heart and records her loves, heartbreaks, and losses in the most beautiful light.
This book, while short, was exactly what I needed to read. I will read more from this author. I reccommend this to anyone looking for a quick, heartwarming read.

I read this in maybe 20 minutes or so. I found myself doing alot of highlighting! I like how the writer is not only writing advice to herself, but to the readers as well. I also enjoyed the fact that the writer included lost in love poems. Only complaint is I wish it were longer.

as a poet, i was a little disappointed in the repetitiveness of some of the poems. it was not what i expected, especially seeing how there was so much hype around it. this is a good book, it’s a «pick me up» type book. and it had some really good stuff in it. i just expected more.
