Hello everyone,
I’m looking for a way to
say that a city has a considerable number of trees and vegetation
(for example tree-lined streets, squares with trees and some other vegetation, etc). It’s a normal city, but one that has a good number of trees and vegetation. I’ve found the adjective »leafy», which means according to Oxford: »(approving) (of a place) having a lot of trees and plants».
My question
: Does »leafy’‘ sound natural/correct in the examples that I made up below?
a. The city of Small Hills is pretty leafy.
b. I lived in Anapolis, and it isn’t a leafy city.
In Portuguese, we use the equivalent expression when we are talking about the environment in a specific area.
Thank you in advance!

In AmE, I’ve never heard «leafy» used in this context, and it doesn’t sound idiomatic to me.
People may use the term «green» — «Our city is one of the greenest in the state.» However, this can have a larger meaning beyond just «having lots of plant life», also including sustainability practices, embracing «clean» energy, etc., so it may be misunderstood depending on the context.
I would be inclined to say something like, «The city of Small Hills has a lot of greenery.»

Thank you very much.
For my (b) example above, could I say »I lived in Anapolis, and it doesn’t have much greenery.» ?
Thank you in advance!

The definition of leafy in Lexico (Oxford Dictionaries) has a sample sentence describing the «leafy suburbs» but I think it’s perhaps a bit of a stretch to apply it to a whole city.

Donny, would you use »greenery» in my post #3?
Thank you in advance!

That sounds fine to me.

a sample sentence describing the «leafy suburbs»
That’s exactly the way it’s used in my experience, as an adjective in more extended descriptions. It’s not used directly to describe something as leafy or not leafy.
‘(approving) (of a place)
This is key. It’s used as part of positive descriptions.
«When I was ten we moved from the barren desert of northern Nevada to the leafy suburbs of Washington DC and my life changed completely.»
Leafy in that context suggests the idea of pleasantness. Especially compared to a barren desert. It’s not about the trees themselves, it’s about the atmosphere they create or are a part of.
If you see leafy in a description, that suggests it’s an idyllic place to live (at least in theory).

When «leafy» is used to describe a neighbourhood, it often implies «wealthy», or at least «comfortable». Areas that have lots of trees but where the houses are not so attractive or well-kept are not often called leafy.
Here is a previous thread on the word.

Экваториальный Климат
Сильный дождь характеризует климат тропических лесов. В этом климате не существуют разных времён года. Сезон дождей длится круглый год, и дождь идёт почти каждый день.
