Baby bears called cubs. Cubs usually stay with their mother for two and a half years, sometimes three. Their survival depends entirely on the she-bear: on her ability to hunt and fish, as well as on her ability to transfer her knowledge to cubs. And if the mother has well educated her children, they will grow strong, healthy and smart.
And they will conceive their offspring, and they will grow it. Everything will be repeated again. If a person leaves at least a little bit of a place to live for a bear tribe.
The mating season lasts from late May to early July. It is interesting that the cubs (from one to four) are born in January-February, that is, while the bear is in hibernation. Babies are born blind, without wool and teeth, weighing just over half a kilogram, but grow quickly on the nutritious milk of the 20 percent fat content of the still dormant mother.
For a few months of such feeding, the cubs are completely transformed, they come out of the dens already shaggy and quick. True, they are still very dependent. Mortality among the cubs of the first year of life is very high. The reason for this is the famine and attacks of other predators. If the bear cub has lagged behind the bear, it becomes an easy prey for wolves, lynxes and eagles.
