Тема словообразование в английском – очень сложная, поэтому практиковаться нужно много. Всем известно, что задания на словообразования есть в ЕГЭ. Не будем откладывать и выполним упражнения на словообразование в английском.

Задания на словообразование. Word building exercises.

Упражнение 1. Раскройте скобки. Образуйте существительные.

Готовимся к ОГЭ-словообразование

Сегодня продолжаем разговор о письменной части ОГЭ «Грамматика и лексика» и остановимся на задании, посвященном словообразованию. В общем государственном экзамене эта часть немного легче аналогичных заданий в ЕГЭ, так что все, что написано в этой статье, будет верно и для готовящихся к ЕГЭ.

Итак, задания 27 — 32 направлены на знание словообразующих приставок и суффиксов, а также кучи слов.

Оно является проблемным, потому что:

  1. Очень маленький процент учащихся 9 класса знает всю необходимую лексику для сдачи ОГЭ.
  2. Еще меньший процент имеет какое-то представление о словообразовании при помощи приставок или суффиксов кроме интуитивного.

Ученикам рекомендую следующий алгоритм действий:

  1. Прочитать все предложение и внимательно посмотреть, что окружает пропуск. На основании окружения делать выводы о принадлежности к части речи.
  2. Желательно еще его перевести, чтобы быть точно уверенным в части речи и смысле слова (он может оказаться прямо противоположным, то есть вам потребуется отрицательная приставка или суффикс).
  3. Думать над выбором суффикса, если нужное слово неизвестно.

СОВЕТЫ

Как понять, что за часть речи перед нами? По подсказкам в предложении и местоположению пропущенного слова.

Рассмотрим подсказки, которые помогут нам сделать вывод о нужной части речи!

Существительное:

  1. В самом начале предложения перед сказуемым (________ is a sign of bad character. RUDE)
  2. После прилагательного (She has a very pleasant ________. PERSONAL)
  3. После существительного в притяжательном падеже (This is everyone’s _____________. RESPONSIBLE)
  4. После артикля (I love autumn because of the _________ of its coour. RICH).
  5. После предлога (People complain about the lack of ____________. CREATIVE)
  6. После местоимения (I love her _________. BEAUTIFUL)
  7. После числительного (There were more than 1000 _________. COMPETE)

Плюс надо понять, в единственном или множественном числе стоит существительное. Это можно понять по артиклю или форме глагола.

Глагол

  1. После существительного в роли подлежащего (Travel _______ the mind. BROAD)
  2. В начале повелительного предложения (Let’s _________ and make a conclusion. SUMMARY)
  3. После вспомогательного глагола (We will _______ all your dreams. REAL)
  4. После частицы to (We are going to _________ it.  FULFILLMENT)

Прилагательное

  1. Перед существительным и обычно после артикля (It was a _______ road. DIFFICULTY) или после другого прилагательного (My brother likes wearing big ______ trousers. BAG) или после предлога (Everything is ready for __________ elections. PRESIDENT)
  2. Как составное именное сказуемое после глагола-связки быть (It was absoutely _______. TASTE) или после другого глагола (The food looks __________. TASTE)

Наречие

  1. После глагола (We arrived ________ on the shore. SAFE)
  2. В начале предложения как вводное слово (____________, we were lost. OBVIOUS)

Ну, и после выполнения следует проверить правильнописание всех вставленных слов. А также помнить, что в экзаменационный бланк все они будут записываться ЗАГЛАВНЫМИ буквами.

Пример

Наша любимая демоверсия, разбираем:

  1. People travel a lot nowadays. Planes are considered to be the most __________________ means of transport but for some people airports can be a nightmare.
    COMFORT
    Перед пропуском стоит the most — показатель превосходной степени прилагательного, после него — существительное means, значит из существительного comfort нужно сделать прилагательное comfortable (очень легкое, ученик его должен знать).
  2. There are __________________ queues when you check in and you waste lots of time if your flight is delayed.
    END
    Перед пропуском стоит вводная конструкция there are, после — существительное queues (понять, что это существительное, можно по окончанию s и позиции в предложении), значит в пропуске должно быть прилагательное. «Endful? Endable?», думает ученик. Что-то не то. Надо переводить предложение, для уверенности. Отлично, если он знает, что такое waste lots of time, а если нет — можно догадаться о смысле из слов lots of time. Прилагательное должно иметь отрицательный смысл, а за него отвечает суффикс -less — endless.
  3. However, there are some airports where you can __________________ enjoy yourself.
    ACTUAL
    Перед пропуском — модальный глагол can, после него — снова глагол enjoy. Что может идти между? Правильно, наречие, которое всегда сопутствует глаголам. Сделать наречие элементарно — надо добавить к прилагательному суффикс -ly: actually.
  4. For example, you’ll never be bored at Hong Kong’s international airport. There are thousands of people from __________________ countries here but the passengers never experience any problems because everything is well organised.
    DIFFER
    Перед пропуском стоит предлог, после — существительное, перед нами — снова прилагательное, причем очень легкое: different.
  5. There are attendants in red coats, who help you to get from one place to another. It’s very good for people with no sense of __________________. DIRECT
    Снова легко — перед пропуском предлог, однозначно существительное: direction.
  6. The attendants are always very polite and __________________.
    HELP
    В этом предложении есть подсказка — союз and, показывающий на однородные члены предложения. Polite — прилагательное, значит нам нужно еще одно прилагательное: helpful.

Как же продуктивно готовится?

Заводим отдельную тетрадь или выделяем несколько страниц  под заголовком «Словообразование» и последовательно выписываем туда:

а) приставки

б) суффиксы существительных

в) суффиксы прилагательных

г) суффиксы глаголов

д) суффиксы наречий,
принимая во внимание особенности правописания и запоминая их общее значение.

А еще лучше сделать сводную таблицу по каждой части речи и консультироваться с ней при выполнении схожих заданий. Например, такие таблицы.

4. Использование латинских  и греческих приставок и суффиксов для словообразования

Некоторые латинские и греческие приставки дают нам слова с числами:

В данной части от вас требуется определить часть речи, необходимую для заполнения пропуска в тексте,

и

преобразовать данное в задании слово в однокоренное,

или,

добавив приставку, изменить значение слова на прямо противоположное.

в задании требуется преобразовать слова, напечатанные заглавными буквами в конце строк так, чтобы они грамматически и лексически соответствовали содержанию текста.

Пропуск в предложении

должен быть заполнен прилагательным т.к.

  • С помощью the most образуется превосходная степень сравнения длинных прилагательных
  • Пропуск стоит перед существительными means of transport

А значит, существительное COMFORT следует преобразовать в прилагательное comfortable с помощью суффикса –able.

Зная правильный порядок слов английского предложения

мы понимаем, что после подлежащего  the attendants и сказуемого  are стоят два прилагательных, соединенных союзом and.

Существительное/глагол help преобразуем в прилагательное helpful помощью суффикса –ful.

ВЫВОДЫ:

Очень важно определить часть речи, которая должна стоять на месте пропуска.

В связи с разнообразием суффиксов для образования различных частей речи, одним из самых продуктивных способов подготовки к данной части раздела “Грамматика и лексика” будет ведение своего рода словаря в табличной форме по частям речи.

В интернете есть очень полезный ресурс, который, по сути, и является тем самым словарем — Word Family Framework, в поисковой строке которого, набрав нужное слово, вы получите список однокоренных слов.

Тренировочные упражнения по словообразованию английского языка

Знание правил словообразования в английском языке и умение применять данные правила может значительно упростить процесс овладения английском языком.

Приведем конкретный пример: sad – печальный, sadly – печально. Наречия в английском языке образуются при помощи суффикса -ly, добавляемого к прилагательному. Если вы знаете, что slow по-английски означает “медленный”, то как будет “медленно”? Конечно же, slowly. Догадаться о верном ответе вам помогло знание правила словообразования.

Суффиксы существительного

Задание 1. Измените слова так, чтобы они грамматически и лексически соответствовали содержанию предложения.

Уточнение. Слово «лексически» означает, что к слову нужно добавить суффикс или префикс. Слово «грамматически» означает, что к преобразованному слову, возможно, нужно добавить окончание.

СЛОВООБРАЗОВАНИЕ КАК СЛОЖНЫЙ ЭЛЕМЕНТ АНГЛИЙСКОГО ЯЗЫКА (WORD-BUILDING)

В ходе обучения иностранному языку, в частности, английскому, у студентов возникает масса вопросов при переводе слов той или иной части речи. В связи с этим необходимо остановиться на основных способах словообразования в английском языке.

В современном английском языке имеется несколько способов словообразования:

1) конверсия ( образование новых слов без изменения их написания и произношения )

2) словосложение ( образование нового слова путем сложения двух слов в одно )

3) изменение ударения в слове (и получение нового слова другой части речи ).

4) аффиксация ( прибавление к корню суффикса или префикса )

Конверсия как способ словообразования. Словосложение. Изменение ударения.

Иногда слово может менять свое значение и выполнять новую синтаксическую функцию в предложении, не изменяя при этом написания и произношения ( конверсия ). Наиболее распространенным является образование глаголов от существительных: master (хозяин) — to master (управлять), house (дом) — to house (размещать), water (вода) — to water (поливать). Но глаголы могут быть образованы и от прилагательных: empty (пустой) — to empty (опустошать) white (белый) — to white (белить).

Словосложение — это объединение полнозначных слов или их основ в сложное слово. Вновь образованное сложное слово пишется слитно или через дефис: airfield — аэродром (air — воздух, field — поле), air-base — авиабаза (air — воздух, base — база), airman — авиатор (air — воздух, man — мужчина), schoolday — школьный день (school — школа, day — день), birthplace — место рождения (birth — рождение, place — место).

Сложные слова могут состоять из двух существительных, первое из которых приобретает значение прилагательного. В этом случае слова пишутся отдельно. Например: service dress — форменная одежда, одежда для службы (service — служба, dress — платье), shop window — витрина (shop — магазин, window — окно), skim milk — снятое молоко (to skim — снимать (накипь и т.д.), milk — молоко ).

Многие существительные совпадают по форме с глаголами, но отличаются ударением . Как правило, в существительных ударение падает на первый слог, а в соответствующих глаголах — на второй: ex port (экспорт) — to ex port (экспортировать) pre sent (подарок) — to pre sent (дарить).

Словообразование с помощью аффиксации.

Образование новых слов может происходить при помощи присоединения к основе слова суффиксов или префиксов (приставок). Префиксы присоединяются к корню слова в начале, а суффиксы — в конце. Слова, образованные с помощью префиксов или суффиксов, в отличие от простых слов, называются производными.

Самым продуктивным является этот вид словообразования. В ходе обучения английскому языку уделяется большое внимание этому способу словосложения.

Префиксы, как и суффиксы, могут присоединяться к различным частям речи, изменяя при этом значение основы слова, например: happy (счастливый) — unhappy (несчастный) — happiness (счастье) — happily (счастливо); help (помощь) — helper (помощник) — helpful (полезный) — helpless (беспомощный).

Наиболее употребительные приставки (префиксы) и их значения:

1. Префикс со значением “снова”, “заново”, “вновь”, “пере”:

to construct (строить) — to reconstruct (перестроить), to read (читать) — to reread (перечитать), to write (писать) — to rewrite (переписать)

2. Префиксы, которые придают слову противоположное значение или обозначают противоположное действие :

un- dis- de- anti- counter-

to dress (одеваться) — to undress (раздеваться), to tie (связывать) — to untie (развязывать)

to appear (появляться) — to disappear (исчезать)

formation (формирование) — deformation (деформация)

fascist (фашист) — anti-fascist (антифашист)

attack (атака) — counterattack (контратака)

to contradict (противоречить, возражать)
