Tekashi 69 challenges anybody to dare stop him from using the N-word because ‘it’s just vocabulary’

Tekashi 6ix 9ine, also known as Tekashi69, is defending his constant use of the N-word and challenges anyone to dare stop him.

The controversial rapper recently fired his entire team and cancelled his US tour after shots were fired during a music video shoot.

The 22-year-old appeared on the Breakfast Club Show on Power 105.1 FM to discuss his dramatic last few months – he also recently avoided jail time after being sentenced to four years of probation after a child sex case – when the topic of the offensive word came up.

Speaking to co-hosts Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee, the Stoopid rapper said: ‘Who gon stop me? Who?!’

The New York City artist, whose mother is Mexican American and father Puerto Rican, has been criticised for using the racial slur in his music videos, social media posts and interviews.

Charlemagne said: ‘Last time you were here – and I don’t have a problem with it – but people seem to have a problem with you saying n**** because they say a Mexican should not be saying the word.’

The artist replied confidently: ‘Who gon stop me. Who? I can see those comments all the time. Who? Why can’t I say it? I can say it, like. Who gon stop me?’

Charlemagne then asked Tekashi to explain what the N-word means to him.

The Bebe rapper said: ‘It’s the way I grew up, it’s my culture. I grew up in Bushwick, Brooklyn.’

‘It’s my vocabulary,’ he added. ‘It’s the way I talk. You know what I’m saying? It’s not like oh shit I’m not African-American, I’m not dark skin I can not say this, I can’t say it. You know what I’m saying? It’s just vocabulary’

Tekashi then went on to claim that in New York ‘all the Spanish kids used the word.’

‘Do not make it a “me” thing. I’m not Post Malone. I’m saying n****. Period,’ he said referring to the Caucasian rapper who was forced to apologise after a video of him using the N-word in 2015 surfaced last year.

The rapper – real name Daniel Hernandez – was recently handed a sentence by a Manhattan court, he must also complete 1000 hours of community service as well as avoid any involvement with gangs or any further arrests.

He is not required to register as a sex offender and must refrain from posting sexually explicit material or violent images of children or women.

In 2015, Hernandez admitted using a 13-year-old in a sexual act. He made the confession as part of a ‘youth offender’ plea deal and this case would be closed on good behaviour after two years.

Hernandez was then also required to carry out 300 hours of community service and complete his education (GED).

The rapper recently revealed that his album will be released on 23 November.

Tekashi 6ix9ine is defending his constant use of the N-word.

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has made one of the biggest comebacks no one ever saw coming in this life after he ratted out his fellow Nine Trey Bloods gang members. Following his criminally short stint behind bars and house arrest, he is once again shaking things up in New York and other places all over America, especially with the arrival of his album two days from now. The release of his album seemingly brought another drop, this one being a detailed interview with the New York Times.

6ix9ine touches on a lot of topics in the interview, and as the writer puts it, admits to all the bad he has done in the past. The truth is that the 24-year-old Queens man has never really held anything back, and his time in court definitely proved that; after all, why would he change his style now that he is an even bigger star than when he was arrested. His knack for spilling the beans is not the only thing the rapper is sticking with. Joe Coscarelli, the author of the NY Times interview, decided to query 6ix9ine’s stance on the “protests against racial discrimination and police brutality” currently taking place all over America.

The “Trollz” rapper said, “I feel like I got no say. It’s like, ‘Shut up, just make us laugh.’ I’m not an activist. People do that for the cameras.” A follow-up question asked if he would ever stop using the “N-word” since he is not black.

“No.” Came the decisive answer from 6ix9ine before explaining his reasons for being able to freely use the word. “Nobody’s going to make me stop saying [expletive]. I grew up in Bushwick, Brooklyn. All my friends are Black. Who’s going to stop me? If I felt it was wrong, I would stop, but it’s not wrong, my [expletive].”

The use of the N-word by non-black rappers has been well contested over the years, with many of them being ridiculed for not facing the same plights of blacks, therefore, not being qualified to share similar stories. What is your stance on non-black rappers using the N-word?

'Who Gon' Stop Me?' Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Says He's Fully Entitled To Use 'N***a'

You don’t get a pass.

«Bebe» rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is of the belief that he is fully entitled to free and flagrant use of «n***a.»

6ix9ine paid a visit toThe Breakfast Club. In addition to talking about his alleged lifestyle as a New York gangsta, he was questioned by host Charlamagne Tha God regarding the frequent use of «n***a» in his songs.

“Last time you were here – and I don’t have a problem with it – but people seem to have a problem with you saying n***a because they say a Mexican should not be saying the word,” Charlamagne asserted.

The Brooklyn-born rapper, who is Mexican-American and Puerto-Rican, immediately began defending his use of the word by questioning who would stop him from using it.

“Who gon’ stop me. Who? I can see those comments all the time. Who? Why can’t I say it? I can say it, like. Who gon’ stop me?” the artist asked.

“You know the distinction, so when you say it what does it mean to you?” Charlamagne responded.

The 22-year-old rapper argued that because he is from New York, using the expression is a part of his culture.

“It’s the way I grew up, it’s my culture. I grew up in Bushwick, Brooklyn,” he shared. “It’s my vocabulary.”

“It’s the way I talk. You know what I’m saying? It’s not like oh s**t I’m not African-American, I’m not dark skin I can not say this, I can’t say it,” the rapper continued. “You know what I’m saying? It’s just vocabulary.”

6ix9ine went on to say that many Hispanic kids use term and that he will continue to use the word because he is not the only non-Black person to do so.

“Do not make it a ‘me’ thing. I’m not Post Malone. I’m saying n***a. Period,” he said.

There has been a long history of controversy around white people using the n-word. Several months ago Kendrick Lamar addressed a fan who got a little too comfortable on stage and repeated the word from one of his songs.

Several weeks ago, Remy Ma received backlash after sharing her thoughts about white rapper Lil Xan’s use of the n-word.

“I don’t usually get offended, regardless of what your nationality is if I feel like you’re not using it as a racial slur,” she said.

During 6ix9ine’s Instagram live stream chat with Nicki Minaj, 6ix9ine referred to himself using the N-word.

Nicki tried to alert him that that’s not going to fly, but she didn’t outright say anything. Instead, she implies that he’s spinning out of control.

6ix9ine’s mother is from Mexico and his father is from Puerto Rico.

He’s out here flinging the N-word around amidst a civil rights movement. SMH.

It’s just different in New York, the hood of new York not time Square or the busy streets like 34th st, I’m talking about the hood way uptown. But I understand where you are coming from :cigney:

Nicki’s made more millions in her worst year than Cardi B in her prime with three number ones, a Grammy, giving ******s to DJ’s to play her ABC raps and so on. So yeah, she’s eating the whole female rap on the breakfast. Combined.

The fact that you talk about hits on a Britney forum is total dumb. Get it? :ehum:

My thoughts on this? I don’t have any. I thought white people are allowed to use the N word with a black people IF only that black person agrees with it. I’ve heard rumors about Ariana using the N word and some of her friends being ok with it. If this makes sense. At all. :awks:

      Jesy’s instagram live today:

      —-

Jesy Nelson, 31, said: «Bad Thing is the start of the album. I feel like this song is an indicator of what it’s going to sound like but it’s not all slow songs at all.
«I don’t want to give a release date yet as things move but I can say the album will 100% be this year. For sure, 100%.»
Jesy will drop the as of yet untitled album as an independent artist after splitting with Polydor in July last year.
She added: «I’m open to collaborations and it would be nice but right now I’ve not done any for the album.
«I’m already thinking about a second one.
«It’s so nice to do it all as an independent artist and how I envision it.
«I’ve been recording in my home studio and Zion [her new boyfriend] has been helping me.
«Next week I’m going to New York to write some more songs with Tayla Parx and I am shooting the next music video really soon.»
The clip will be shot by Charlie Sarsfield — the same director who headed up her hard hitting Bad Thing video.
The film like video highlights the all too real issue of domestic violence.
Jesy, who has teamed up with Women’s Aid for the release, said: «It’s not my personal story but so many women in my life have been through this.
It’s nice to make a video that will make an impact and raise awareness.
Even if it helps just one person. I just really wanted to raise awareness about it as I think it’s such an important topic and hardly anyone ever speaks about it.
There are so many people who go through it but they are too scared to talk about it.
Even though you may be in a situation like this, if you can find anyone that you trust then there is always someone out there that can help you. You’re not stuck in there.»
Speaking about working with the former X Factor winner, Women’s Aid said: «We thank Jesy for using the music video of Bad Thing to signpost support for women who may be affected by domestic abuse.
«The video shows her character not explicitly leaving at the end, and we know from our work that this is a reality for many women.”

The song is not necessarily the typical top radio hit. However, the song is fire… Nicki skated on da’ beat! Not everything is meant to break the charts. If they wanted a #1, they would’ve worked on Munch or In Ha Mood.

Tekashi 6ix9ine hit out at haters during his interview with The Breakfast Club

Tekashi 6ix9ine hit out at haters during his interview with The Breakfast Club.

During an interview with The Breakfast Club, rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine openly challenged people to make him stop saying the ‘N’ word

Just hours before he was reportedly been arrested & taken into custody on RICO charges, rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine joined The Breakfast Club for an awkward interview which saw the ‘FEFE’ star defend his use of the ‘N’ word.

> Tekashi 6ix9ine Just Savagely Fired His Entire Team & Cancelled His US Tour

Speaking to host’s Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee, Tekashi dismissed critics who have said he shouldn’t be using the ‘N’ word and openly called out anyone to make him stop.

Quizzing the rapper on his decision to use the word, Charlamagne The God said, «Last time you were here – and I don’t have a problem with it – but people seem to have a problem with you saying n**** because they say a Mexican should not be saying the word.»

But Tekashi 6ix9ine wasn’t having any of it and challenged people to stop him, stating «Who gon stop me. Who? I can see those comments all the time. Who? Why can’t I say it? I can say it, like. Who gon stop me?»

He went on to add, «It’s the way I grew up, it’s my culture. I grew up in Bushwick, Brooklyn. It’s my vocabulary, It’s the way I talk. You know what I’m saying? It’s not like oh shit I’m not African-American, I’m not dark skin I can not say this, I can’t say it. You know what I’m saying? It’s just vocabulary».

Following the interview, news emerged that Tekashi 6ix9ine had been arrested and taken into custody following an investigation by ATF, NYPD and Homeland Security. At the time, TMZ reported that Tekashi and three other men are facing «racketeering and firearms charges» and claim that 6ix9ine will «almost certainly» go to prison.

Jimmy Wopo recently took to social media to verbalize an observation that many have been making about Tekashi 6ix9ine’s use of the n-word. «No hate but dude 69 say n***a more than anybody — he ain’t got not one drop of black in him. S**tz wild fr,» Jimmy wrote.

Although the Pittsburg rapper didn’t seem offended by Tekashi 6ix9ine’s use of the word in his music, some fans are bothered by 6ix9ine’s using the racial slur. For some, there is no room for debate on their stance that use of the n-word cannot be justified under any circumstance.

Then there are those who object and feel as though reclaiming the word and using it as a term of endearment allows Black people to take the power out of it. But that whole discussion takes shape among people who identify as Black and are basically negotiating norms within the Black community.

Cardi B has received similar backlash for her use of the word. In her case, the defense from those who don’t see a problem with it have been two-fold. For one, she presents as an Afro-Latina woman, and secondly, she grew up in the Bronx among African-Americans.

Tekashi also grew up among a predominant mix of African-Americans and Latinos on the streets of Bushwick, Brooklyn. To many African-Americans and Latinos who grew up in New York City like he did, he «gets a pass.» But to many who don’t come from that particular experience, it is hard to reconcile how he’s gotten away with using the word.

By Lisa Snowden, Special to the AFRO

A few weeks ago my son, who recently turned 10, sat down next to me on the bed where I’d been working.

“Mommy, I want to be a Soundcloud rapper,” he said.

My husband and I closely monitor his internet usage (or at least we thought we did), but even so, my little boy and his eight-year-old sister have been walking around our house singing out loud the censored version of rapper Tekashi  6ix9ine’s hit “Gummo.” And I didn’t even know it.

Controversy seeking rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has topped the charts while being dogged by sexual abuse allegations. (Instagram)

Such is the power of the internet. Such is the power, it seems, of 6ix9ine.

If you spend any amount of time online, especially on social media, you’ve probably seen 6ix9ine. He’s a skinny, pale guy with a face full of tats, rainbow hair, and a rainbow grill to match. He’s perfectly meme-worthy.

“After you defeat all the Soundcloud rappers, you gotta face this n*gga as the final boss,” one such meme reads, with a picture of the21-year-old Brooklyn native laughing and holding a cigarette below.

The rapper has over four million followers on Instagram, and his videos rake up thousands of views. In Internet-world, he’s gold. Those eyes and ears have generated a more real-world level of success, too. In early March, “Gummo,” on which 6ix9ine flows on a somewhat lazy beat using a voice that sounds like he’s been smoking since elementary school, debuted in the top five on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart. “Pop these n*ggas like a wheelie n*gga, you a silly n*gga,” the rapper, who is definitely not Black, rhymes.

And beyond the debatably controversial death threats he makes in his songs (“whole squad full of f*cking killers, I’m a killer too,” he raps on “Billy”), there are darker dealings that have followed 6ix9ine over the course of his short career. Namely, a series of videos he recorded and posted online that involved a 13-year-old girl.

The website Jezebel published documents showing that the rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, pleaded guilty to one felony count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance. The girl is seen nude, performing a sex act on another man while 6ix9ine records, and, later, sitting on the rapper’s lap.

Writer Rich Juzwiak deftly unpacks any defense that Hernandez has made for the videos or his subsequent punishment. “6ix9ine is prone to pointing out repeatedly, despite entering a guilty plea to a felony, that he is a free man,” Juzwiak writes. “The answer is in his plea agreement. The document, dated October 20, 2015, states that his sentencing was to be adjourned for two years until October 20, 2017. (It has since been adjourned further and as of now is scheduled for January 30, 2018,”

In the meantime, the rapper was ordered to get his GED, undergo mental health treatment, and serve one year of interim probation, among other things.

None of this has stopped his success, and in this way, although his rise to fame feels very of-the-moment, his ability to stay relevant despite these allegations is a tale as old as time. Just look at R. Kelly, who very recently was accused of grooming a young woman for a cult and knowingly giving her an STD, in addition to the mountain of allegations involving his inappropriate relationships with young girls that has been growing for decades now.

Also not surprising: the way 6ix9ine has so ably been able to profit off of Black culture without being Black.

In his videos he is surrounded by Black people, none of whom seem to take issue with his very liberal use of the word “n*gga.” He’s taken part in the normal back-and-forth over who runs things that most rappers do, but he’s also been co-signed by some of the biggest ones.

“50 told me next time I say I’m the king of New York to say it LOUDER,” reads the caption on an Instagram photo of 6ix9ine and rapper 50 Cent.

In my day (the almost-40 mother of two writes), even Eminem faced backlash when an old recording caught him dropping the n-word in a rap.

Actually, there is very little about 6ix9ine, save those allegations, that seems controversial at all. He has rainbow hair, yes, but rap has come a long way from baggy jeans and Timberlands. Grills are the norm to the point that even Beyonce’ wears them.

According to court documents, 6ix9ine said that a lot of the things he does are just for shock value.

“The SCUMBAG persona is just for shock value. It started when I started making clothing with the words ‘HIV’ and ‘p*ssy’ on it. They got famous and went viral. Bam. Because ‘p*ssy’ and ‘HIV’ worked, the SCUMBAG69 hashtag would have the same shock value,” he’s quoted as saying.

He’s monetized that shock value in a way that, thanks to the internet, has never been done before.

both will get a pass.

I’ve been very loud about her behavior for years and every time I mostly received backlash, it toned down recently, but I still had an argument with someone here.

What I learned is that no matter what, she’ll get a pass because bops..

He’s Latino, but I’m sure you’re just trying to trap me and say «you think that’s better?». Your title is clickbait and she didn’t just sit there. She didn’t want him using the word and just because she didn’t pop off doesn’t mean she was okay with it.

Edit: He also said it in the song and she seemed to be perfectly fine with that coming out so.

she’s not ‘reeling him in’ for saying the N word, I believe it’s because they ‘only had 10 minutes’ and he was about to start **** talking her ex man.

it’s not against the law to say it, but if a white person says it, it’s considered extremely racist.

6ix9ine isn’t white, he’s Latino, Mexican I think. So really he shouldn’t either but it can be a bit complicated. It’s definitely something white people shouldn’t say.
