The word of god is your life

And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life.. (Deuteronomy 32:46–47 KJV)

Grow to maturity

Today is the big day as we transition from the name Glory & Grace Daily to Deshen Daily devotionals. Let me take us back to the first Glory & Grace Daily devotional published March 3, 2016 titled “God’s Word is our life”. Yes, we will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary next month!

What is the most important reason we think is responsible for Christians neglecting to study or feed on the Word of God today? If you say “time constraints”, you are right! That is what many of us think but that is not true. I went into details about this in our book “The Devotional Life”. One of the most important reasons why believers do not pay attention to the Word is not time but perspective of what the Word means to them.

Moses told the Israelites that the words he was giving them are their life. Moses saw God’s Word as their life. The Israelites saw them as laws to keep. Many believers truly do not SEE why they should study the Bible. They see no relationship between meditating on the Word of God and their financial struggles, health problems, marital issues etc. The truth is our prior experiences usually support this. One believer once told me he read the Bible as he was told and it did not help his addiction. How sad!

I pray that the Lord will open your eyes of understanding and experience to step into realms of the Word of God as your life, seeing it affecting and changing every part of it.

MEDITATE

Be honest here: does the Word of God really benefit you or do you just read it because you have to?

APPLY THE WORD

Life will change for you when you come to the experience of the Word of God as your very life. Do not settle for the religion of it: reading, memorizing, studying, teaching or even quoting. Let it indeed be your life!

PRAY

Ask the Spirit to help you enter into the realm of the Word of God being your very life.

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

 John 6:63

Notice in the above scripture Jesus calls the very words that he speaks Spirit and Life!  In John 1:1-4 &14 the scriptures tell us “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men…And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father;) full of grace and truth.”

1 John 5:7 says: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

As the scriptures above tell us, Jesus is the word of God.  He is the word that created all of creation.  He was doing the same thing when He walked the earth that He was doing when He created it.  Look at Genesis 1: 1-2  “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light…”

There in Genesis, we have the Father, the Son (The Word) and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit hovered over the face of the waters but wasn’t put into action until the WORD of GOD was SPOKEN!  Not until GOD SAID, was anything created!  But then Light, Life and all that is, was created through the WORD OF GOD!

Jesus is teaching us that the same is true today about the Word of God.

In John 14:12 Jesus tells us: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father: And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

How will we then do the works that Jesus did? First, of course, we need the infilling of the Holy Spirit. All that Jesus did was by the anointing, the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling on the inside of Him.  This is available to every believer who asks.  This is the power, the anointing that the scriptures speak of in Ephesians 3:20, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

Therefore God will do exceedingly abundantly above what we can ask or think; how?  By the POWER THAT WORKS IN US!  How then do we release this power? What is the key to tapping into this great power house of God dwelling on the inside of us?  Let’s look at John 14:10.  Jesus says: “the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”

Jesus spoke only what He heard His Father say, then the Father did the works;  just like when they spoke the Universe into existence. It’s that living word of God that brought it forth!  Let’s also look at Matthew 8:5-10 to see how this power of God is released and how to get the same results that Jesus did:   “And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.  And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.  The Centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but SPEAK THE WORD ONLY, and my servant shall be healed.  For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.  When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”

The Centurion understood that the very words Jesus spoke had the authority to heal.  It’s the word of God that released the power.  Just as Jesus said the words that He speaks are Spirit and they are life.  The actual word of God is Spirit! That is why we call it the living word of God.  It is alive! When you speak the word of God you are speaking actual life and the spirit of God.  Proverbs 4:20-22 says: “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” That sounds very similar to what Jesus said in John 6:63. His word is Spirit and it is life.  It is the Spirit that quickeneth (gives life).  When you release the word of God, you are literally releasing the life giving Spirit of God and it will do exceedingly abundantly above what we can ask or think! There is POWER IN THE LIVING WORD OF GOD!

This is why it’s so important to pray the word of God over your situation, whatever it may be. In Ephesians 6:17 scripture tells us to take up “the sword of the Spirit, which is the WORD OF GOD”!  This is part of our battle armour.  All the rest of the armour listed in Ephesians 6 is for Defensive fighting, but the WORD IS OUR SWORD, it’s how we fight OFFENSIVELY.  Find the promise of God concerning whatever you need in the scriptures and then speak it out with Authority, in Faith, knowing that it will not return void!  As Isaiah 55:10-11 says: “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower: and bread to the eater.  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

God’s word will work all the time.  We have been given the authority to use it. Trust that it will work on your behalf! Just as the Centurion had complete trust in that life giving word that Jesus spoke.  The word of God is what dispatches the heavenly angels.  As Psalm 103:20 says: “Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his WORD.”

Jesus again demonstrates the power of the word, and saying what He hears the Father say, when He speaks to the fig tree.  He curses the fig tree by speaking to it.  He spoke to a tree and cursed it out loud.  Indeed the tree responded by dying from the roots up.   Jesus explains the authority we have with the word of God when he says  in Mark 11:22-24  “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he SAITH.”

When we pray the word of God we get results! When we say only what we hear the Father say to us in our spirit, then God will do the works.  Be sensitive to tune into what God is telling you to say and what not to say.  God has given us the authority to get His kind of results.  In Luke 10:19 (NLTV) Jesus says: ”Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them.  Nothing will injure you.”

The authority that Jesus has over the enemy, He has given to us.  We use that authority by saying and doing what God tells us to do.  Pray the promises of God in the word of God over your situation in faith!  Then stand back and watch as God does the works and does exceedingly abundantly above all you could ask or think! John 1:12; “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name…”

Jeremiah 23:29

“Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?”

Psalm 50:23

Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.”

Psalm 107:20

“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

Ephesians 6:12-17

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…

The gift of life has been freely and graciously offered to fallen mankind. Through Christ we may become partakers of the divine nature and obtain the gift of eternal life.

It has been abundantly provided for all who will come and receive it through God’s appointed means.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.

This message is for the world. It was the will of God that none should perish, but that all should have eternal life through faith in the sacrifice of Christ.

All who look unto Jesus, believing in Him as their personal Savior, shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Christ is our sacrifice, substitute, surety, and divine intercessor. He is made unto us righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30.

The crowning glory of life results from a connection with Christ.

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth… he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things. For in him we live, and move, and have our being; For we are also his offspring. Acts 17:24, 28.

Christ came that He might re-create the image of God in mankind. Therefore, whoever turns people away from Christ is turning them away from the source of true development.

Thus, he or she is defrauding them of the hope, purpose and glory of life.

You have only one life to live. In it, you have the privilege of preparing for an unending life.

Seek immortality and the crown of life. Then the eternal treasures will be yours and an inheritance in the kingdom which God hath promised to those that love Him. James 2:5.

None of us liveth to himself. Your life is twined with all others in the common web of humanity. You are to be laborers together with God for the salvation of those who perish in degradation and woe.

Creation of mankind

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:1-4.

Man and woman were the crowning act of God’s creation. They were made in the image of God and designed to be a counterpart of God.

When Christ had made man, though, the human form was perfect in all its arrangements, it was without life. Then God breathed into that form the breath of life and man became a:

  • living
  • knowing
  • loving
  • reasoning
  • intelligent being, able to render service of love, appreciating their Maker’s character .

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7.

All parts of the human organism were put in action. The heart, arteries, veins, tongue, hands, feet, senses, and perceptions of the mind began their work, and were placed under law.

Through Jesus Christ a personal God created man and woman and endowed them with intelligence and power of choice.

Moreover, God designed that humans, the crowning work of His creation, should express His thought and reveal His glory in their characters.

We are to praise and glorify God, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14.

Sin separated humans and their Maker. No one has seen God at any time, except as He is manifested through Christ.

I and My Father are one. John 10:30.

No man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him. Matthew 11:27.

Redemption of humanity

In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7.

All things come of Thee, and of Thine own have we given Thee. 1 Chronicles 29:14.

All things are God’s by creation and redemption. All the blessings of this life and of the life to come are delivered to us stamped with the cross of Calvary.

Therefore, it is a false charge that God is a hard master, reaping where He has not sown.

Jesus said of the Old Testament Scriptures: They are they which testify of me. John 5:39.

This is the World’s Redeemer, in whom our hopes of eternal life are centered. Furthermore, the whole Bible tells of Christ.

From the first record of creation – for without him was not anything made that was made, John 1:3, to the closing promise – Behold I come quickly, Revelation 22:12, we are reading of His works and listening to His voice.

He came out of the tomb and proclaimed: I am the Resurrection and the Life. John 11:25.

As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12.

Jesus paid the redemption price for every son and daughter of Adam. Moreover, He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25.

God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16.

These words are to be understood, believed, and lived. They will give us spiritual life. Christ’s teachings are to be brought into the daily experience.

Illustration -In this life only - background - blossom tree - text - Bible verse - 1 Corinthians 15 verse 19

God’s Word is spirit and life

The life of God was manifested in the flesh and was the living word. Jesus said: The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. John 6:63. Feed upon God’s Word, search it and dig deep for knowledge and understanding.

You receive the life of the Vine as receiving His Word.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24.

The conversion of the soul is in a way a resurrection from the dead. It is like a re-creation to those, who, through the transforming power of the grace of God have passed from death unto life.

Christ’s listeners did not believe His words. They said in their hearts – this is impossible. Jesus discerned their doubt and added:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live. John 5:25.

Furthermore, you are buried with Christ in baptism as an emblem of His death. You are raised from the water as an emblem of His resurrection.

Thus, you are to live as new-born souls, that you may be raised at the last great day. You are to live in newness of life.

For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:3, 4

Show us a sign

What sign showest Thou then, that we may see, and believe Thee? what dost Thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. John 6:30, 31.

The Jews honored and praised Moses as the giver of the manna. Thus they glorified the human instrument, and lost sight of Christ by whom the work had been accomplished.

They also murmured against Moses. Furthermore, they doubted and denied his divine mission. In the same spirit their children rejected the One who bore the message of God to themselves.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven. John 6:32.

It was Christ Himself who had led the Hebrews through the wilderness, and fed them daily with the bread from heaven. That food was a type of the real bread from heaven.

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:33, 35.

The figure which Christ used was a familiar one to the Jews. By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Moses had said:

That he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. Deuteronomy 8:3.

Thus he teaching of the prophets made plain the deep spiritual lesson in the miracle of the loaves.

As from that bread they had received physical strength and refreshment, so from Christ they might receive spiritual strength unto eternal life.

He that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But He added: Ye also have seen Me, and believe not. John 6:35, 36.

The science of salvation

It will quicken the mind and uplift the soul as no other study can.

The excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. Ecclesiastes 7:12.

The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63.

This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3.

The creative energy that called the worlds into existence is in the Word of God. This Word imparts power and begets life. Every command is a promise.

As accepted by the will and received into the soul, it brings with it the life of the Infinite One. It transforms the nature and re-creates the soul in the image of God.

Furthermore, the life thus imparted is in like manner sustained.

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4.

Mind and soul are built up by that upon which they feed. It is up to us to determine upon what they will be fed. It is within the power of everyone to choose the topics that will occupy the thoughts and shape the character.

Of every human being privileged with access to the Scriptures, God said:

I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing. Hosea 8:12.

Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3.

We live Christ’s life

Christ in His humanity wrought out a perfect character. Moreover, He offers to impart this character to us. This robe has in it not one thread of human origin.

All our righteousness are as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6.

Everything that we of ourselves can do is defiled by sin. Differently, the Son of God was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. Sin is defined to be the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:5, 4.

For Christ was obedient to every requirement of the law.

I delight to do Thy will, O My God; yea, Thy law is within My heart. Psalm 40:8.

Jesus said to His disciples: I have kept My Father’s commandments. John 15:10.

By His perfect obedience He has made it possible for every human being to obey God’s commandments.

When we submit ourselves to Christ:

  • our heart is united with His heart
  • the will is merged in His will
  • our mind becomes one with His mind
  • the thoughts are brought into subjection to Him
  • we live His life.

This is what it means to be clothed with the garment of His righteousness.

As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. John 1:12.

This power is not in the human being. It is the power of God. When a soul receives Christ, he or she receives power to live the life of Christ.

God’s Law is a transcript of His own character, and it is the standard of all character. The life of Christ on earth was a perfect expression of His law.

When those who claim to be children of God become Christlike in character, they will be obedient to all God’s commandments.

The source of strength and life

One’s mind turns away from Christ when it dwells upon self. It is Satan’s effort to keep the attention diverted from the Savior. He constantly brings up to us:

  • the pleasures of the world
  • life’s cares
  • perplexities and sorrows
  • the faults of others
  • our own faults and imperfections
  • anxiety and fear as to whether we shall be saved

Thus he prevents the communion of our souls with Christ. All this turns us away from the Source of our strength.

Jesus said: Abide in Me, … for without Me ye can do nothing. John 15:4, 5. Furthermore, He invited us: Come unto Me, … and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him. Psalm 37:7.

And Isaiah gives the assurance: In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. Isaiah 30:15.

Therefore, trust in God. Talk and think of Jesus. Let self be lost in Him.

Put away all doubt. Dismiss your fears. Obtain the experience that Paul had when he exclaimed:

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20.

Rest in God. He is able to keep that which you have committed to Him. 2 Timothy 1:12. If you will leave yourself in His hands, He will bring you off more than conqueror through Him that has loved you. Romans 8:37.

We are safe as looking unto Jesus. Nothing can pluck us out of His hand. In constantly beholding Him, we are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Illustration - background - forest - light - text - Bible verse - In him was life, John 1 verse - In him was life

You shell live by Him

Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. John 6:54-57.

Christ explained the meaning of His words.

It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63.

It is in eating the words of Christ that we eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of God. In obedience to His word, we become partakers of His divine nature in the same way in which we are composed of the food we eat.

Those who eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of God become one in spiritual life with Christ. No human being can be nourished by the food which another eats. They must eat for themselves.

God has sent His Son to communicate His own life to humanity. Christ declared:

I live by the Father, My life and His being one.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. John 1:18.

For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself. John 5:26.

The head of every man is Christ, as the head of Christ is God.

And ye are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s. 1 Corinthians 3:23.

God is love

He has shown that love in the gift of Christ.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17.

Nevertheless, the love of God does not lead Him to excuse sin. He did not excuse it in Satan, Adam or in Cain.

He will not excuse it in any other person. Moreover, He will not overlook our sins or defects of character. He expects us to overcome in His name and live the way He did in human flesh.

You will find help in Christ to form a strong, symmetrical and beautiful character. God has given us His best gift to uplift, ennoble and fit us for His kingdom.

The life of Christ in you produces the same fruits as in Him. Living in, adhering to, supported by, and drawing nourishment from Christ, you bear fruit after His likeness.

Christ took a human nature upon Him. Thus, He bound humanity to Himself by a tie of love that can never be broken by any power, but the choice of humans themselves.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come; Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38, 39.

Surrender everything to Christ, and let your life be hid with Christ in God. Then you will be a power for good.

Born again

The power of Christ alone can work the transformation in heart and mind that all must experience who would partake with Him of the new life in the kingdom of heaven.

Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3.

The religion that comes from God is the only religion that can lead to God. In order to serve Him aright, we must be born of the Divine Spirit.

This will purify the heart and renew the mind, and give us a new capacity for knowing and loving God. It will give us willing obedience to all His requirements. This is a true worship.

The character is transformed by divine work. For the Lord said:

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you. Ezekiel 36:26.

This is a death to self and sin, and a new life altogether. Paul said: I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me. Galatians 2:20.

How shall we know that we are in Christ?

We may know it by the character of our fruit. The fruit borne on the Christian tree is holiness of heart. Furthermore it is a wholeness to Christ. Thus Christians will:

  • have God constantly in their thoughts
  • love those for whom Christ has died
  • follow Christ in the path of self-denial
  • their life will be ascribe with the love of Jesus
  • delight more in contemplation of the love of God than in anything the world can offer.

There can be only love, thankfulness and praise when the heart is renewed by the Divine Spirit. Thus consecration to God is maintained, because Jesus is within, the hope of glory.

If we are one with Christ, we shall be Christlike. This is the great power of God. And yet we are commanded:

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good-pleasure. Philippians 2:12, 13.

Christ will enable you to live the new life

An entire change may be made in your life through the right exercise of the will. By yielding up your will to Christ, you ally yourself with the power that is above all principalities and powers.

You have confessed your sins and put them away in heart. You have resolved to give yourself to God. Now go and ask Him to wash away your sins and give you a new heart.

Then believe that He does this because He has promised. This is the lesson which Jesus taught while He was on earth. We must believe that we do receive the gift which God promises us. Than it is ours.

Jesus healed the people of their diseases when they had faith in His power.

He helped them in the things which they could see, thus inspiring them with confidence in Him concerning things which they could not see. Thus leading them to believe in His power to forgive sins.

That ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith He to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. Matthew 9:6.

Furthermore, John said: These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name. John 20:31.

You will have strength from above to hold you steadfast, and thus through constant surrender to God you will be enabled to live the new life, even the life of faith.

He has made a way of escape

Firstly, Christ:

  • lived on earth amid trials and temptations such as we have to meet
  • lived a sinless life
  • died for us, and He offers to take our sins and give us His righteousness.

For His sake you are accounted righteous if you accept Him as your Savior. Thus Christ’s character stands in place of your character, and you are accepted before God just as if you had not sinned.

Secondly, Christ changes the heart.

He abides in your heart by faith. You are to maintain this connection with Christ by faith and the continual surrender of your will to Him.

Thus, as long as you do this, He will work in you to will and to do according to His good pleasure.

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:12, 13.

So you may say:

The life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20.

Jesus said to His disciples:

It is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. Matthew 10:20.

Then with Christ working in you, you will manifest the same spirit and do the same good works – works of righteousness and obedience.

Your sanctification is the will of God

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication; That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour. 1 Thessalonians 4:3, 4.

The sanctification of God’s people is the object in all His dealings with them. He has chosen them from eternity to be holy.

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 1 Thessalonians 4:7.

We are sanctified through obedience to the truth and a personal surrender. Moreover, we can  honor God only as we conform to His image and be controlled by His Spirit.

Then, as witnesses for our Savior, we may make known what divine grace has done for us.

True sanctification is the result of constantly dying to sin and constantly living for Christ. It comes through the working out of the principle of love.

God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16.

The life of those in whose heart Christ abides will reveal practical godliness. Their character will be purified and elevated. Their believe will blend with works of righteousness.

Moreover, they will know the meaning of self-sacrifice.

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Matthew 16:24.

As long as Satan reigns in this world, we have self to subdue and sins to overcome.

Furthermore, as long as our life last, there will be no point which we can reach and say: I have fully attained. Sanctification is the result of lifelong obedience.

Live the life of faith

God does not ask you to feel that Jesus is your Savior, but to believe that He died for you. Moreover, that His blood now cleanses you from all sin.

As the serpent was lifted up in the wilderness that the dying might look and live, so Christ was lifted up, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Look to the uplifted Savior with saving faith. Believe He saves you. It is so, not because you feel it, but because God has promised, no matter how terrible your sins may have been.

God had provided a remedy that can not fail.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Acts 16:31.

Do not be among the number to whom the Savior said: Ye will not come to Me, that ye might have life. John 5:40.

He longed to save them! For while we were yet sinners – not waiting for us to make ourselves good – Christ died for us. Romans 5:8.

Believe now that God loves you, for He has declared it.

God so loved the world, that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.

This is your answer to Satan when telling you that you are lost.

As you turn your eyes to Jesus: Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world. John 1:29. Thus the controversy with the enemy will be ended. You can hold him off by declaring that:

Christ was wounded for my transgressions. He was bruised for my iniquities. The chastisement of my peace was upon Him, and with His stripes I am healed. Isaiah 53:5.

Whatsoever is not of faith is sin

Come to God in faith and humility. Plead with Him and lay your burden at His feet, saying:

I know whom I have believed. 2 Timothy 1:12.

The Lord is “able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Ephesians 3:20.

Our faithless hearts may be quickened into sensibility and life as we pray and preach in faith, and say: The life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God.

Follow in the footsteps of the Son of God, for his promise is: He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12.

According to the seed sown will be the harvest. If you talk of Heaven and the eternal reward, your way will become lighter. Thus your faith will grow, because it is exercised.

Fasten your eyes upon Jesus. Thus by beholding you will become assimilated to His image.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18.

The spirit of Christ’s self-sacrificing love is the spirit that pervades Heaven. Is the source of its blessedness. Moreover, it must be our spirit, if we would be fitted to join the society of the angelic host.

Selfishness will be overcome if the love of Christ fills our hearts and controls our lives. It will be our pleasure to minister to others and to do the will of God, whom we hope soon to see.

Eternal life

The gift of eternal life is promised on condition of saving faith in Christ.

The will of God is revealed in His written word. Moreover, the Bible defines the whole duty of His children.

Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13.

The whole duty of mankind was summed up by Jesus’ answer to the lawyer who asked Him:

Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? Luke 10:25.

He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.

He said unto him, Thou hast answered right; this do, and thou shalt live. Luke 10:26-28.

We might ask: What shall we do to inherit eternal life? And the answer would be: Keep the commandments of God. Who is it that lives up to this requirement?

The Bible contains the science of salvation for all those who will hear and do the words of Christ. Furthermore, the gift of the Holy Spirit is given as drawing power in the work of mankind’s salvation.

While probation lasts, we must make the most of our opportunities in seeking the Lord, and the promise is given: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. James 4:8.

The covenant made from eternity

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

according as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:

having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will. Ephesians 1:3-5.

The covenant was made before the foundations of the earth were laid. Thus all who through the abundant grace of Christ become holy in character, should be the children of God.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3.

Read and study the Scriptures diligently. In them ye think ye have eternal life, Christ said, and they are they which testify of Me.” John 5:39. It means everything to us to have an experiential and individual knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ, whom He hath sent.

Immortal glory and eternal life is the reward that our Redeemer offers to those who will be obedient to Him.

He has made it possible for them to perfect Christian character through His name and to overcome on their own account as He overcame in their behalf.

Christ has given them an example in His own life, showing them how they may overcome.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23.

The claims of God are equally binding upon all. Those who choose to neglect the Christ’s salvation offered to them freely are earning their wages. They are sowing to the flesh and will of the flesh reap corruption. Galatians 6:8.

Immortality is promised on condition of obedience

In the midst of Eden grew the tree of life. Its fruit had the power of perpetuating life. Had Adam and Eve remained obedient to God, they would have continued to enjoy free access to this tree and would have lived forever.

After they sinned, they were cut off from partaking of the tree of life and became subject to death.

Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. Genesis 3:19

Adam could not transmit to his posterity that which he did not possess. Thus there could have been no hope for the fallen race, had not God by the sacrifice of His Son, brought immortality within their reach.

While death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned, Christ hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. Romans 5:12; 2 Timothy 1:10.

And only through Christ can immortality be obtained.

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life. John 3:36.

There is not an immortal sinner

Satan only promised Adam and Eve life in disobedience. He lied to them – Ye shall not surely die. It was the opposite to the word of God: The soul that sinneth, it shall die. Ezekiel 18:20.

Cherubim and a flaming sword kept the way of the tree of life. Genesis 3:24. Thus no one of the family of Adam has been permitted to pass that barrier and partake of the life-giving fruit.

Those who flatter themselves that God is too merciful to execute justice upon the sinner, have only to look to the cross of Calvary. Christ the sinless became sin for mankind and bore the guilt of transgression. All this sacrifice was made that sinners might be redeemed.

I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son. Revelation 21:6, 7.

We must resist and overcome sin in order to inherit all things.

God will render to every man according to his deeds: Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile; Romans 2:7, 9, 10

While life is the inheritance of the righteous, death is the portion of the wicked.

Moses declared to Israel: I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil. Deuteronomy 30:15.

The death referred to in these scriptures is not that pronounced upon Adam, for all mankind suffer the penalty of his transgression. It is the second death that is placed in contrast with everlasting life.

Eternal torment doctrine

It is one of the false doctrines that make up the wine of the abomination of Babylon. The doctrine that the wicked dead are tormented with fire and brimstone in an eternally burning hell is not the teaching of the Book of God.

As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die? Ezekiel 33:11.

Another people who don’t accept the doctrine of eternal torment are driven to the opposite error. They see that the Scriptures represent God as a being of love and compassion. Thus they cannot believe in eternal torment.

But holding that the soul is naturally immortal, they believe that all mankind will finally be saved. They regard the threatening of the Bible as to frighten people into obedience, and not to be literally fulfilled.

Thus the sinner can live in selfish pleasure, disregarding the law of God, and yet expect to be finally received into His favor. Such a doctrine presumes upon God’s mercy, but ignores His justice.

Moreover, it pleases the carnal heart and encourages the wicked in their iniquity.

Consciousness in death

For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6.

The grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee; they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day. Isaiah 38:18, 19.

The Bible also clearly teaches that the dead do not go immediately to Heaven. They are represented as sleeping until the resurrection. 1 Thessalonians 4:14; Job 14:10-12.

When they arise from the tomb, their first glad thought will be echoed in the triumphal shout: O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 1 Corinthians 15:52-55.

Conclusion

There is no part of the human being of which Christ is not to be all and in all. He is our life. Personal contact with Him builds the soul up, supplying its ever-recurring needs.

Every human being who lays hold of Jesus Christ by faith is capable of the highest achievements. Thus if obedient and faithful, he or she will have life that measures with the life of God and live through eternal ages.

Christ and humanity become one, so that the Spirit and character of Christ are represented in His followers daily. By faith He becomes unto the believer righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63.

In giving His flesh and His blood for the life of the world, Christ gives eternal life to all who will receive it in faith.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. John 6:47

I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:51.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. John 6:53.

There is no growth where there is no life. Where there is no life, there is no fruit.

I am the vine, ye are the branches. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me. John 15:5, 4.

In this vine is all spiritual life. From Christ’s fullness alone we can obtain nourishment unto eternal life.

Those who now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Romans 6:24.

Bible verse of the day

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

The first thing each and every Christian must fully realize is that the Holy Bible is truly the inspired and infallible Word of God.

There are many liberal Christians who are starting to question the validity and authenticity of the Bible. I will not use this article to debate the origins of the Bible, all of the authors who wrote the books, and how the different translations came into being. There are plenty of good books at your local Christian bookstore that deal with this topic very extensively.

After studying the Bible in its complete entirety – there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that all of the Bible is God-breathed – that all of it has come directly to us from God the Father through the Holy Spirit.

For those of you who believe in the literal interpretation of the Bible, and that all of it has truly come to us from God the Father.

I will use this article to give you some extremely powerful verses from Scripture to show you that not only did all of the Bible come direct to us from God the Father through the Holy Spirit to all of the authors who wrote all 66 books of the Bible – but I will also give you some powerful verses from the Bible showing you how powerful the actual words of the Bible really are, and how they can also help to change and transform you into the kind of person that God really wants you to become in Him.

The actual words of the Bible are anointed by the Holy Spirit Himself – and they have the full ability to completely change and transform you if you are willing to work with the divine truths that are contained in the actual words.

Jesus says in the Bible that you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. However, you first have to know what the real truth is before the truth can start to work to set you free.

This is why Kind David said we must meditate on the words of the Bible – so we can find out what their true meaning is and how all of these divine truths can apply to our daily lives. Meditating on the Bible means to think about, to chew on, to try and figure out the meaning of all of the different verses in the Bible.

Though the Book is long, God has made it as simple and easy as He possibly could. Think about this. There is only one Bible. In one Book, God has given us everything we need to know about Himself, His Son Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the basics of our salvation through His Son Jesus, how He wants us to live this life, the things that He wants us doing, and the things that He does not want us to be doing.

In this one Book are all the ways and commandments of our Lord, along with all the information we are ever going to need on what is awaiting all of us on the other side when we die and cross over – heaven for the saved and hell for the unsaved.

I believe the number one reason God created the human race was for intimate fellowship. Even to the amazement of the angels in heaven, God seems to have some type of special longing and love for the human race.

The fact that God would send His one and only Son Jesus down to our earth in the flesh to go through the worst form of physical death at the time He came, all just to bring us back to Himself, really does show us how much God really does love all of us.

The Bible tells us that the love that God has for all of us is like a “consuming fire.” These two words are showing us a love that is of maximum intensity. With this kind of intense, passionate love that God has for all of us, I believe He is trying to tell all of us one main thing – and that one main thing is that He is looking to enter into a one-on-one, personal, love relationship with each one of us.

Think about this – that the one and only all-powerful God of the entire universe is looking to make a direct, personal connection with you on an individual and unique basis.

If you really step back and look at the big picture and all the things that we see in this life – what is the one thing that most of us long for in this life? What is the one thing that will make you cry when you see this portrayed on the movie screens?

It is the longing for a true soul mate. It is the longing for a pure, true, and unconditional love from a person of the opposite sex. There is nothing that can satisfy the deeper longings of your soul the way that true love can. However, there is just one small catch with this scenario. Even though some of you may have found your true soul mates in this life, there is still one more thing that has not been met.

No matter how perfect you think your mate may be – your mate is still not perfect like God is, since the Bible tells us that all men and women have sinned and have fallen way short of the glory of our God. What this means is that no matter how good of a love relationship you may have with your mate, that person is still not capable of giving you a perfect love because that person is not perfect in their very nature and personality.

Thus, every single one of us still has that little hole in our soul that just cannot seem to be filled with anything else in our lives.

No matter how much money we have, no matter how many material possessions we have, and no matter how many loving children we have – there is still something missing and none of these things can completely fill that little hole that is in all of our souls.

God has purposely left a vacuum, a hole, and a void in each one of our souls when He created us. And the only thing that can fill this hole and void is God the Father Himself, His Son Jesus Christ, and His Holy Spirit.

There is absolutely nothing else on this earth that can fill that empty void. People are literally chasing after the wind trying to find anything and everything to fill that void – and no matter how many lovers they have, no matter how many marriages they enter into, and no matter how many toys they buy with the money they have – nothing they chase after in this life will fill that hole in their souls.

The only thing that will fill that hole in your soul is finding, and then entering into a true, personal, love relationship with God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. There is nothing else that will fill that void!

Since God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are totally perfect in Their actual natures and have no dark side to Their personalities, then They, and only They, are the only Ones who are capable of giving you a perfect, pure, and unconditional love that no one else can give you in this life.

This is why the Bible tells us that we will find a peace that will pass all human understanding once we have accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior and have become truly born again. That peace we will find is the result of finding the one true Person who can fill that empty void that is on the inside of each and everyone of us – and that one Person is God Almighty Himself.

However, once you have found God through accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, there is now something you must do. You must now grow in the knowledge of God and grow in the personal relationship that He wants to establish with you.

And how do you start to grow in the personal relationship He wants to establish with you and grow in the knowledge that He wants you to have about Him? By diving head first into the Bible!

When two lovers first meet and fall in love with one another, the first thing they naturally and instinctively want to do is to learn as much as they can about one another.

How can you truly fall in love with another person unless you first seek to know everything you can about your lover, their past, where they have been, what they have been through, who are all of their friends and family, etc. Once you really fall into true love with someone, you will have a major hunger and desire to find out as much as you can about them and their past.

It’s the exact same way in our relationship with God. God obviously knows everything about each one of us since He is all-knowing, but we do not know everything about Him, His Son, or His Spirit. So the only possible way that we can learn all about God is to read and study from the Bible, since the Bible is the only Book that we have down here on this earth that will give us detailed information as to who the Three of Them really are.

If a true, born-again, Spirit-filled Christian is really in love with God, and really wants to deepen the personal relationship they have now established with Him – then the first thing that person will really want to do is to get into the Bible so that they can find out everything they possibly can about this awesome God of ours.

The more knowledge you gain about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit from studying the Bible – the stronger and deeper your personal relationship will become with the Three of Them.

As you will see in the Scripture verses listed below, there are several other incredible things that will start to occur in your life if you seek to study the Bible with the intentions on wanting to learn more about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in order to deepen your personal relationship Them.

I will break these Scripture verses down under their appropriate captions below so you can see how powerful the Word of God really is, and how it can help change and transform the quality of your life if you are willing to study, learn, and seek to apply the divine truths that are in this incredible Book.

Study these verses very, very carefully. These verses are showing you how powerful and anointed the Bible really is. Since all of the Bible comes direct to us from God the Father, you can completely trust and rely on that what you will read from the Bible will be 100% pure, solid, God-truth.

1. All of Scripture is Given to Us By Inspiration From God the Father

These first two verses will specifically tell us, without any other possible interpretation, that all of the Bible has been given to us by “inspiration of God” through holy men who were “moved by the Holy Spirit” to write what they wrote!

In other words – all of the words in the Bible have come direct to us from God the Father through the Holy Spirit. The specific authors of the Bible then wrote under the guidance, inspiration, and illumination of the Holy Spirit.

This is why you can completely trust that what you will read from the Bible will be 100% pure, solid, God-truth! There is no other book on our earth that contains direct words from God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ other than the Holy Bible. God Himself has personally arranged that all of the revelation that He wants us to have in this life about Himself, His Son Jesus, and His Holy Spirit would all be contained in this one incredible Book.

Here are the two specific verses giving us this incredible revelation:

  • All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • “… knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:20)

The first verse specifically tells us that all of Scripture, not just some or part of it, comes direct to us by inspiration from God the Father. The second verse then takes it one step further and tells us that the holy men of God who wrote the Bible, all wrote under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit Himself. It also says that no part of Scripture was of any private interpretation of these authors.

The first verse also lays out the groundwork as to what the Bible is going to be used for – for establishing solid Christian doctrine in the real truths of God, and for instruction in the knowledge and ways of God so that we may all be made complete and thoroughly equipped to go to work for God in the calling that He has set up for each one of our lives.

These two specific verses are powerful, foundational verses in which our study of Scripture has to be based on. If you do not believe that all of the Bible is truly the inspired and infallible Word of God – then the Holy Spirit is not going to move on you to start to really work the truths that are contained in the Bible to change, mold, and transform you into the kind of person that God wants you to become in Him.

Bottom line – if you want the divine truths that are contained in the Bible to really be able to change and transform you – then you will have to believe that all of the Bible comes direct to us from God the Father through the Holy Spirit. If you do not, then the Bible will have little or no transforming effect on you and your life.

2. The Word of God is Living and Powerful

As you will see in the following verses, the words that are contained in the Bible are living, powerful, and sharper than any two edge sword we can make on this earth.

In other words, the words in the Bible have God’s supernatural power and life in them. They are literally anointed by the power of the Holy Spirit Himself. This is why the words and the truths contained in the Bible have the supernatural ability to change and transform you into the kind of person that God wants you to become in Him.

That is why Jesus told the apostles to “feed” His sheep. When you read and study the Bible for increased learning, you are feeding yourself with direct anointed words from God Almighty Himself.

Many Christians who do not regularly feed off the Bible have no idea on what they are really missing out on. The Words that are in the Bible are pure, solid, spiritual food that have the supernatural ability to feed your mind, soul, and spirit. Nothing else will feed your inner man like reading from the Bible will.

Just like our human physical bodies need physical food to be able to survive – so does our mind, soul, and spirit. The food that we feed our physical bodies will not nourish our mind, soul, and spirits.

The only thing that can spiritually feed and nourish us on the inside are true, solid, spiritual truths. And the only true, solid, spiritual truths that can feed us to cause any kind of true spiritual growth to occur in this life are divine truths that come direct from God the Father and Jesus Christ.

There are no other spiritual truths from any other sources that we can feed off of that will cause any kind of true spiritual growth to occur in this life.

Any other source is just dead meat. It has no supernatural life or ability to change us because it is not coming direct from God the Father and thus has no anointing on it.

All other false religions and New Age type thinking have no supernatural ability to change and spiritually transform you in this life. Only the divine truths that are contained in the Bible have this supernatural ability.

Now here are 9 major power verses showing you how much supernatural life and power there really is in the Word of God.

  • For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
  • So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
  • Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:29)
  • “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63)
  • “This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life.” (Psalm 119:50)
  • Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart …” (Jeremiah 15:16)
  • How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103)
  • But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4)
  • “… as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” (1 Peter 2:2)

Notice all of the food analogies that God is using to compare His Word with. What He is trying to tell us is that when you are studying the words that are contained in the Bible for increased learning – you are spiritually feeding yourself with supernatural nutrition!

I believe that all of the above Scripture verses are trying to tell us one main thing – that the Word of God is living, powerful, and real spiritual food for the soul and spirit of every person who is willing to feed off of it.

3. The Word of God is Pure, Solid Truth

If the Bible is telling us that all of Scripture is coming direct to us from God the Father through the Holy Spirit – then the next thing that the Bible will be telling us is that all of the words that are coming direct to us from God the Father are 100% pure, solid truth.

If God is all-perfect and all-powerful, then this means His intelligence and knowledge on all things is all-perfect. And if His knowledge on all things is all-perfect, then this means that all of the words that He is conveying to us in the Bible can be counted on as being perfect words, thereby giving us perfect knowledge.

This means that all of the Bible can be counted on as being 100% pure, solid, God-truth with no errors and mistakes. The Bible tells us that all humans will only know in part with what knowledge we are able to gain down here on this earth. Thus every book you read from human authors will never be totally perfect in the knowledge that the author is trying to transmit to you.

However, since all of the Bible is coming direct to us from God Almighty Himself – then the Bible is the only Book that we have down here on this earth that is totally and completely perfect in the knowledge that it is trying to transmit to us.

This is why the Bible has the ability to change your life. No other book on this earth has the amount of wisdom and knowledge that this Book has – and this is all because this knowledge and wisdom is coming direct to us from God the Father Himself.

Now here are 4 very good verses from Scripture that are specifically telling us that every word that proceeds from the mouth of God is 100% pure, solid truth.

  • Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar.” (Proverbs 30:5)
  • The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” (Psalm 12:6)
  • For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.” (Psalm 33:4)
  • Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” (John 17:17)

Notice the first verse says that the words that come from God are “pure” words. The last verse then says that all of God’s words are “truth.” Put these two verses together and you get that all of the words that come from God are “pure truth.”

Pure means 100% pure – which means that all of God’s words are pure, solid truth with no errors or mistakes. This is why the Word of God is also called infallible and inerrant. If the Bible says that a thing is so – then it is so – end of discussion. You can literally bank your life on it!

4. The Word of God Can Sanctify You

If all of the words of the Bible are 100% pure, solid truth – then this means that all of the words in the Bible have the supernatural ability to sanctify you, especially since all of the Bible has the anointing of the Holy Spirit Himself on the entire Book.

God’s ultimate and highest aim for all of us after we become saved and born again is to sanctify us, to transform us, to mold and shape us into the express image of His Son Jesus. It is the job of the Holy Spirit to start this molding, transforming, and sanctifying work in us after we get saved.

However, the Holy Spirit needs something to work with in order to get this transformation process kicked into full gear – and that something is knowledge. God wants you to have full knowledge on exactly what it is He wants to change about you before He really starts to move you into this sanctification process with Him.

And where do you get the knowledge that will get God to start this sanctification process within you? From the Bible! There is no other book that we can learn and study from that will give us the direct knowledge that we will need from God the Father to get Him to start this sanctification process within us.

It’s the Word and the Spirit working together in a believer’s life that will get God to start working full force in their life so He can change them into the kind of person He really wants them to become in Him.

Here are several powerful verses from Scripture specifically telling us all of this. The first two verses will tell you that God can literally sanctify you by His Word.

  • Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” (John 17:17)
  •  ” … that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:26)
  • How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me Your statutes.” (Psalm 119:9-12)
  • You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” (John 15:3)
  • ” … and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” (James 1:21)
  • “For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13)

Notice the last verse says that the Word of God can “effectively work in you.” This means when you start reading and studying the Bible in order to gain more knowledge about God – it will start to effectively work in you so you can start to change into the person God will want you to become in Him.

Just think of the power this Book has to dramatically change and transform the quality of your entire life. True inner happiness and fulfillment can only be found on the inside of your being, not on the outside with material things and possessions.

Hollywood is living proof that money, fame, and notoriety will not buy you true inner happiness. There are many in Hollywood who truly have what they think is “all” – yet they are miserable, unhappy, depressed, and go from one shrink to another – all in an effort to try and find what is still missing in their lives and why they cannot seem to find true inner happiness with all of the earthly wealth they have accumulated.

The only way to find true inner happiness in this life is to become saved and born again through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ – and then enter into a dynamic personal relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. From there, you are to start seeking after the knowledge about God and all of His ways by studying and reading the Bible on your own.

The personal relationship you will establish with God, and the knowledge that you will gain about God from reading and studying from the Bible is what will dramatically transform the quality of your life down here on this earth. Nothing else on this earth will do that for you!

5. The Word of God Will Give You Knowledge and Wisdom

The Bible tells us that we are to grow in the knowledge and ways of God. And the number one way in which we will grow in the knowledge of God is by reading and studying from the Bible.

There is no other way! If you do not seek to learn more about the Lord by studying from the Bible, then your spiritual growth in the Lord will stagnate and you will stop growing in Him.

There are no shortcuts to true spiritual growth in the Lord. You have to pay your dues, and those dues are that you have to gain and increase in knowledge about God and all of His ways before the Holy Spirit will start you on the road to true spiritual growth. And the only Book that will give you the knowledge that will cause true spiritual growth to occur in this life is the Bible.

And not only has God given us everything that we will ever need in this one Book – but He has also given us His Holy Spirit, whose main job is to “teach us all things” and to “guide us into all truth.”

Several verses I will list below will tell you that the Holy Spirit Himself will be the One who will personally open up the meaning of Scripture for you so that you can see the knowledge that God the Father is trying to transmit to you through this Holy Book!

This is a direct supernatural work that can be done for you by the Holy Spirit if you are willing to go into a seeking mode with Him when you study the Bible.

Here are several good verses telling us that the Word of God can impart true knowledge and wisdom to us, and that God does want us growing in the knowledge of Him, His Son, and His Holy Spirit.

  • “… but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18)
  • And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.” (Luke 24:45)
  • “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you.” (John 14:26)
  • “However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth …” (John 16:13)
  • Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31)
  • Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another …” (Colossians 3:16)
  • Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path … The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple … Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me.” (Psalm 119:105, 130, 133)
  • My son, give attention to My words; incline your ear to My sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:20)

All of the above verses are showing us how powerful the words that are coming direct from God and Jesus really are. The Word of God can truly change your life for the better – but only if you are willing to spend some good quality time seeking to understand what is in this most incredible Book.

6. The Word of God Will Stand Forever

The last thing you will really need to grasp on the power of the Word of God is that the Word of God will last and stand forever – both in this life and the next life to come, which will be heaven.

Here are 3 very good verses from Scripture telling us that the Word of God is not chained and that it will endure to all generations – both in this life and the next life to come, which means forever!

  •  “… for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained.” (2 Timothy 2:9)
  •  “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations …” (Psalm 119:89)
  • “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)

Not only will your study of Scripture profit you in this life, but it will also profit you in the next life to come – which will be heaven.

I personally believe that we still continue to study the Bible even when we all enter into heaven. I do not believe any one human can truly master the Bible in this lifetime. There is simply way too much knowledge, wisdom, and revelation that is contained in this one Book for any one human to be able to fully grasp all of it in this lifetime.

I believe that the Bible is like a treasure chest that has no bottom to it. And to think that all of this knowledge is contained in just one Book! Only a true God of the entire universe could have put this much knowledge and revelation into one Book.

Conclusion

I will leave you with one last thought. Each Christian must make their own personal decision on this. Once you have become saved and born again by accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior – you now have one of two choices to make.

You can either choose to press in and start seeking after God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit by spending regular quality time in the Bible to learn as much as you can about the Three of Them – or you can just leave well enough alone, figure you have as much of God as you will ever need in this life, and go on your merry way living for the world and the things of this world – never increasing your knowledge base about the Lord, and never really growing in the knowledge of God and all of His ways.

I am afraid most Christians in this day and age are taking the latter approach. Most Christians have either never read the Bible in its complete entirety, or have read very little of it in their own personal walks with the Lord.

This is one of the main reasons we have started up this website – to try and show everyone how much working knowledge there really is in the Bible, and how this knowledge can dramatically change and transform the quality of your life.

As I have shown you with all of the above Scripture verses, the Word of God is:

  • Inspired, Infallible, and Inerrant
  • Living, Powerful, and Anointed
  • Pure, Solid Truth
  • Sharper than Any Two-Edged Sword
  • Can Spiritually Nourish Your Mind, Soul and Spirit
  • Has the Ability to Sanctify and Cleanse You
  • Has the Ability to Teach You, Guide You, and Direct Your Steps in this Life
  • And Will Last and Stand Forever – Both in this Life and the Next Life to Come

What more can you ask for in one Book? Bottom line – there is simply no other book on our earth that has this amount of unlimited knowledge direct from God Himself. And it is all there for the taking for anyone who wants to dive in and take the journey.
