This is an extremely small sample of things a person can hear/say throughout their lifetime.
This led me to ask the question, “How many words does the average person say in their life”. I found an article (How Many Words Do We Speak in a Lifetime) that attempted to answer this. Here’s what it says…
After a little research it was revealed that in 1984, British writer, actor, broadcaster, self-professed Word Person and Scrabble fanatic, Gyles Brandreth, came up with one estimate…860,341,500 words spoken in a lifetime. Brandreth was so certain his estimate was correct that he included it as the subtitle for his book, The Joy of Lex: How to Have Fun with 860,341,500 Words.
Wow, that’s a lot of words! With all these words, what’s the most meaningful words you will ever hear? That’s a good question.
I believe the answer is found in Matthew 25,…Well done, thou good and faithful servant… (verse 21).
In this passage of scripture, Jesus is telling his followers a story about a master leaving his servants in charge as he goes on a journey. He gives three servants some money, put them in charge, and leaves.
When he comes back, two of the three servants have increased the amount of money that was given to them. The other was afraid, hid the money and earned no interest.
When the master saw what the first two did he was so happy he said,…Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord (verse 21).
They did so well, he entrusted them with more. And, they got to keep what they had already earned! Things didn’t go so well for the last servant, the one who earned nothing. Look at how the master responded to him. “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (verse 26; 28-30)
The one who earned nothing had what little he had taken from him and he was thrown out of his master’s presence.
What a story! Now, let’s see how it applies to us and the seven most meaningful words ever. Here we go. Jesus came to Earth. He was the example of how we are to live our lives. He went to the cross to pay a price we couldn’t pay. After three days, He rose from the grave. Then He ascended back to Heaven. But, He will come again to be with us forever. Will you be ready?
God has a plan for all of us and He’s gifted us with the abilities/personalities to do what He wants us to do. The main question is, “Are we doing it?”
We live our lives longing to hear words that inspire us, encourage us, and make us feel better about ourselves. But, in the grand scheme of things, those words are just words. They have little value on an eternal scale.
When everything is said and done the words I long to hear when I stand before my Master are those seven meaningful words…Well done, thou good and faithful servant…
How are you living your life in order to hear those seven meaningful words?

That’s right. It’s those three little letters that rhyme with fun: the word «run.»
If you don’t believe me, look it up. According to the big fat Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary, the word «run» has 179 meanings. That’s way more than «take» (124 meanings), «break» (122), «turn» (122), «set» (119), «go» (98), «play» (94), and every other word.
More From Runner’s World
There is of course meaning number one: «to go quickly by moving the legs more rapidly than at a walk and in such a manner that in each step all or both feet are off the ground.» But what about the other 178? Why, of all the words in the language, is «run» the most meaning-full?
It probably has a lot to do with spatial metaphors. According to Harvard word nerd, Stephen Pinker, people tend to describe events in terms of movement through space, even when the event isn’t actually located in space. We go crazy. We fall in love. We move a meeting from Monday to Tuesday. And when something moves through metaphoric space quickly (more rapidly than at a walk), it runs.
Rivers run. Candidates run. So do colors, computer programs, salmon, and stockings.
Then there are the idiomatic meanings. If you run across a woman who runs around, she might run out on her husband and run off with you–though in the long run, you’re likely to run out of gas, feel run down, and (dare I say?) get the runs.
So, dear readers, here is today’s game. Leave a comment that includes some form of the word «run.» Extra points for creativity.
Now let’s hear all those idioms (with an m!). I’ll go first…

Right now, the most meaningful word I can think of is «melt». It’s amazing how a word can adopt such individual meaning to anyone. What the agreed up on «According to Hoyle» definition is and what the word may mean to someone are completely different things.
To me the word has connotations of home, comfort, belonging, continuity. It is absolutely irreplaceable for me, and right now it has the deepest meaning of all of the words in our language. So where does it come from?
I once dated a woman who had a minor problem with touching. She didn’t terribly liked being touched, and even with her previous guy she kissed reluctantly or she hugged «at a distance». At the shoulders they’d be connected, but their bodies never really touched. At some point very early in our relationship she became very special to me, and I became very special to her.
When it came time to hold her against me, she started in her normal «distanced» position, but almost immediately she folded right into me as if she were melting. Very much like the 80’s song «I’ll stop the world and melt with you.» She just melted right into my arms, and it was such a warm, comforting feeling.
Something I’ll never forget, and I’ll never hear the word melt without thinking of her ever again.
