This is the largest amount of forest funding ever pledged and it comes at a crucial time for the world’s rainforests. The new commitments have the potential to speed up necessary action from both governments and companies. We hope this funding will spur the political changes needed, with big money comes big opportunities, but also great responsibilities. There is not time for baby-steps. Funding should therefore only reward real and substantial action taken by rainforest countries and those who respect the rights of Indigenous people and local communities.

Definitions Of Jungle And Rainforest
One of the main reasons people confuse the words jungle and rainforest is that they both involve thick forests with millions of trees, plants, and animals. However, if you keenly focus on their definitions, you will realize some differences between the words jungle and rainforest. So, let us start by looking at the meanings of jungle and rainforest:
What Is The Definition Of A Jungle?
A jangle is an undeveloped humid forest primarily located in a tropical location that houses many wild animals and plants. Here is an example in a sentence, «Jane spent months in the jungle shooting her new movie.»
Another source defines a jungle as a wildland nearly impenetrable because of its dense vegetation, primarily found in tropical regions. In a sentence, «The crew had to chop down some trees to penetrate the jungle during their research.»
A jungle also refers to any confused mass of objects or items, like a jumble. An example in a sentence is, «My garage is a jungle of my kid’s old toys, cribs, and clothes.»
The informal meaning of a jungle is something that baffles or perplexes, like a maze. Let’s look at an example in a sentence, «I cannot understand the jungle of legal documents my lawyer sent to my email.»
Another source describes a jungle as a struggle, chaos, or violent scene. For example, in a sentence, «The neglected ward is a jungle for its residents.»
A jungle may also be a place or situation packed with ruthless competition. In a sentence, «I cannot survive the advertising jungle, and I will stick to the traditional media.» The word comes from the Sanskrit term «jangle,» which means «uncultivated land or desert.»
