The default layout in Microsoft Word is to display one page at a time with a zoom level of 100 percent. If you need to compare pages side-by-side or just don’t like the single page view, you can create a double page layout instead. Changing the view layout doesn’t affect the layout during printing, so if you need a double page print layout — i.e., two pages on one sheet — you have to adjust another setting.
Onscreen Double Page Layout
-
Click the «View» tab in your Word document.
-
Click the «Two Pages» button in the «Zoom» section of the ribbon.
-
Scroll through your Word document until the desired pages appear in the double page layout view.
Printed Double Page Layout
-
Click the «File» menu in your Word document.
-
Click the «Print» tab on the left side. A preview of what the print will look like appears on the right.
-
Click the «1 Page Per Sheet» button to open a drop-down menu with more options. Click «2 Pages Per Sheet.»
-
Click «Print» to print the document in the double page layout.
I am preparing a document in Word which needs to include several worksheets from one Excel File. When I insert the object from create file it inserts the most recently opened worksheet. The problem arises when I attempt to update any links because they default back to the most recently opened sheet.
I saw another question similar to this which was answered, but the field code provided was incorrect. Can someone please help? I really just need to know where to input the sheet and cell range reference.
The code I’m using is
{ LINK Excel.Sheet.8 "C:\Users\username\Documents\SFA Project Statistics 10-31-16.xls" "" a f 0 p }
The sheet I’m using is Sheet8!A1I67

Yes. You can embed data from different workbooks and different worksheets in the same manner. Start off with your word document opened:
Open your excel sheet you wish to embed. I put some test data for my example. Select the region you wish to embed and press CTRL + C or right click and select copy:
Now select your word document and either press CTRL + V. The paste dialog comes up. Select to keep the link.
Now if the word document is closed and the excel section you copied, ever changes you will see this dialog when you open it up again:
Simply click Yes.
This same exact method works if you copy from multiple regions, from different workbooks, different worksheets, or the same.
This is done without VBA but Excel keeps the links stored behind the scenes.

On the View tab, click Arrange, and then click Split. If the window is wide enough, Word displays Split directly on the View tab. To adjust the relative sizes of the panes, move the mouse pointer to the dividing line, and when you see the split pointer, click and drag the dividing line to a new position.

I go through a lot of half-sheets of paper in my courses. On one side, students write what they found interesting in that day’s class and what questions they have about the course material. On the other side are instructions for small group discussion. I’ve been using some version of these forms for a couple years now, but they seem to be in a constant state of flux. That means frequent revisions. That’s fine. That means I type up what I want at the top of the page and then I copy and paste it underneath. Then I put my cursor between the two versions and repeatedly hit enter until it looks like it’s about half way. And I repeat the process on page two for the backside of the half-sheets.
Yesterday, as I was doing this, I thought, “It’s 2017. There has to be a better way than just eyeballing what looks like half way.”
And there is!
In Word, click on the “Layout” tab, click “Margins,” and select “Custom Margins.”
In the pop up window, in the “Pages” section, click the dropdown menu next to “Multiple pages” and select “2 pages per sheet.”
Word will now show you a half sheet. Type up what you want. Hit enter a few times to add a new page or go to the “Insert” tab and click on “Page Break.” Copy and paste what you have on your first half sheet onto the second page. Add another page and type up what you want on the back of your half sheet. Add one more page and copy/paste the backside to page four.
Now print! Half pages 1 and 2 will print on the front of the sheet; half pages 3 and 4 will print on the back of the sheet.
Isn’t that a whole lot easier?
