We live in the
century of high speeds and technologies. Sometimes we are so tired of our
office duties that we want to have a rest and to spend a weekend in the open air somewhere in the
forest.
People living in cities and towns would like to be closer
to nature, so they are fond of spending their spare time in the country.
To find a beautiful place in the forest or to put up a tent on the bank of the
river, to make a fire — it is a real pleasure.
Some people, who can afford it, prefer to have a rest
abroad. The whole world is open now. The limits and frontiers of the previous
period do not exist any more. So many people, so many hobbies. If you have
chosen a hobby according to your character and taste — you are lucky
because life becomes more interesting and exciting. Hobbies like tastes differ.
The most popular hobbies are collecting post-cards,
coins and books. Some people are interested in music. They collect records
and tape recordings or CDs, newspaper and magazine articles about their
idols. Others like photography.
Nowadays many new hobbies have appeared. Many grown-ups
and children are fond of playing computer games. My friend has a computer at
home and he prefers to spend his free time playing computer games.
As for me, I have little spare time on weekdays, but on
Sundays I try to spend my free time taking pictures and jogging. I am fond of
making pictures of nature, my friends and relatives. They say that I am keen on photography.
My relatives also have their own hobbies. My
mother likes to bake cakes and pies. She is also good at knitting. Before going to bed
she prefers to read. She has a lot of work to do, but she can always find some time for
the things she enjoys. My father likes to fish. It is his favorite recreation. My
grandmother and grandfather say that tastes and ideals change with years. When they
were young they were fond of more active hobbies but now they prefer to read
books and watch TV. As for my sister she is fond of learning English. She dreams of
being a teacher. Sometimes my sister and I go to see our friends or walk with them
in the park, especially when the weather is fine. I think it is important to have an
active rest after hard mental work,

Education is very important in our life.
An educated person
is one who knows a lot about many things. He always tries to learn,
find out, and discover
more about the world around him. He gets
knowledge at school, from books,
magazines, from TV educational programs.
The role of foreign languages is also
increasing
today. Thanks to the knowledge of foreign languages one can read
books, magazines in the original,
talk to foreigners,
translate various technical articles. Moreover, joint
ventures which have recently appeared
in our country need specialists with profound
knowledge of foreign languages like
English, German or French.
To know foreign languages is necessary for
every educated person, for good specialists. Our country is
transferring to a market economy. Research and innovations should
improve living, working conditions
of our people. That is why it is so important to
be persistent in studies.
English is the world’s top tongue. Today,
nearly 600 million people around the world use the English language.
It’s spoken as a mother tongue in Great Britain, the USA, Canada,
Australia, New Zealand. The present-day world status of English is
the result of two factors: the expansion
of British colonial power, which peaked
towards the end of the 19th century, and the
emergence of the United States as the
leading economic power of the 20th century.
There are many different reasons why people study
foreign languages, English in particular. Here are some of them: ·
to travel abroad;
· to get good job; to have something
to do in your spare time; · to be
better educated; · to be familiar with
social and cultural life in other
countries; to be able to participate in
conversations with people from
English-speaking countries. English is the language of international
air traffic control, and is currently developing its role in
international maritime, policing, and emergency services. English is
the chief language of international
business and academic conferences, and
the leading language of
international tourism. English is the main language of popular music,
advertising,
satellite broadcasting,
home computers, and video games. A foreign language is not just a
subject learnt in the classrooms. It’s something which is used in
real life situations.
Why is English useful for international communication? For one
thing, many books and papers in special fields are in English. As a
result, specialists in these fields often learn English. Specialists
from different countries can use their English for international
communication. English is truly a world language.
I’m convinced if
we are working in any brunch of science we must read books and
magazines in other languages. Learning foreign languages opens
up opportunities and careers. Knowing
foreign languages can help us to find a job in such fields as science
and technology, foreign trade and banking, international
transportation communication, teaching librarian science and others.
A more general aim is to broaden the
mind and
to broaden your circle of friends.
The role of English in personal development will be very important.
It develops our memory. People can travel abroad. It enlarges
knowledge and understanding of the world. It is the language of sport
and beauty.
Learning any foreign language includes the
acquaintance with the unknown culture,
traditions and way of life of different people. Of course signing
the international contracts and
treaties with foreign countries can not be without English.
As for me, I think that to know a foreign language
is absolutely necessary for all educated people and modern
specialists. Everything depends on our
own efforts.

- to lay a woman on the gynecologic chair in a typical position;
- to call for a doctor or a laboratory assistant urgently;
- to try to calm a woman down;
- to lay an ice pack on a woman’s abdomen;
- to measure a blood pressure and to take the pulse;
- to type a blood sample;
- to put on the gloves;
- to wash a woman with a solution of phuracilin and to dry the genitals;
- in case of strong bleeding to introduce intravenously 10 ml 10% sodium chloride;
- to prepare the instruments for the endometrectomy and to lay a sterile table;
- to perform all the doctor’s prescriptions;
- after all the prescriptions have been done to soak the used instruments and bandaging material in the solution of chloramines for an hour;
- to put off the gloves and wash your hands.

- Уложить женщину на гинекологическое кресло в типичном положении;
- Срочно вызвать врача или лаборанта;
- Попытаться успокоить женщину;
- Положить на живот женщине пакет со льдом;
- Измерить артериальное давление и измерить пульс;
- Набрать образец крови;
- Надеть перчатки;
- Обмыть женщину раствором фурацилина и высушить гениталии;
- При сильном кровотечении ввести внутривенно 10 мл 10% натрия хлорида;
- Подготовить инструменты для эндометрэктомии и накрыть стерильный стол;
- Выполнять все предписания врача;
- После выполнения всех предписаний замочить использованные инструменты и перевязочный материал в растворе хлораминов на час;
- Снять перчатки и вымыть руки.
