[MC Goya & Fernando]
Ey, Fernando
Si
When I see those Wrath & Grace and the Lampmode rappers, I wanna crush them with my rhymes
Yes, yo, yo, yo, that’s Shai Linne over there!
[MC Goya & shai linne]
Excuse me, are you Shai Linne?
You can just call me Shai, man
OK, Shai Man
Uh, I want you to hear my rap
Uh.. uh..
They call me MC Goya, check it out
Turn my headphone up
You’re not wearin’ any headphones
Ey, Shai Linne, lemme rap
Jo, check it out, one-two
I wrote this rhyme while eatin’ supper late
Jou’re a lower-case MC, but I spell mine with upper-case
If I was a DJ, I wouldn’t play his song
This is off the head like a kufi when jou leave Islam
See, I knew I was the best from the start
I do excellent art, that’s what sets me apart
Everything about Goya is excellent
My flows are excellent, my nose is excellent, and my toes are excellent
All Christian rap is whack except for me and my crew
I’m so dope, I’ll make the world think Christianity’s cool
My words are an ornament, I haven’t lost a tournament
I won this battle hands down like I forgot deodorant
Jou know I’m blessed, you never see raps like these
If jou were a book, jou would be Second Maccabees
Jou been defeated, so this round is lousy
Even my girl can beat you, Ronda Rousey
Call me Carlos Spurgeon, you can’t stop me-
Whoa, actually, I need to stop you, bro, hah
Thanks for doin’ that man, but why’s it so boastful?
Gwha? Fernando, what he say to me? I’m just spittin’ bars
But you a Christian, right?
Yes..
Scripture says not to boast, you know, all glory to God
Bro, that’s like what I did, you know
I say He made me excellent, you know
Ha, ha, oh, ok
Ye, so you know, I’m just humble, because I’m givin’ glory to the One who made me dope, you know
You know what I’m sayin’?
Ha, right, I-I got you
Yo, I gotta bounce, yo, it’s nice to meet you, fam

For many rappers, we often wonder what the hell to rap about. Sometimes we have an ingenious topic and it just flows out of us. But other times we need some inspiration. So I had a thought, what if we rapped about what people are actually looking for us to rap about?
Sure rap is an expression of our lives, thoughts, opinions and a total expression of who we are. However Google is a powerful ally based on the fact that Google is essentially our audience. And they are telling us what topics they want to rap about.
So I did some research and figured out the top 192 topics to rap about. These are topics that people on Google are searching for EVERY MONTH. This is a list that I plan on updating as the trends adjust but a lot of these are generic topics to start your track off with.
I think this is a great to get the juices flowing, but also an indication of what people are looking to listen to in hip hop. The most.
The first thing I did was narrow down the top nine. Here they are.
- School 5,400/Month
- Love 5,400/Month
- Life 1,900/Month
- Depression
- Fake friends 390/Month
- Food 1,600/Month
- Heartbreak 320/Month
- Money 1,300/Month
- Racism 880/Month
School – 5,400 Searched Per Month
Raps about school are the most searched at about 5,000+ searches per month. That is a crazy potential for you to get your music out in front of this audience. Not to mention almost everyone has been to school and has an opinion on it.
The advantage here is that there are differing opinions and whole lot of stress people go through when attending school. Pro tip is to combine school with another popular topic in this list.
Love – 5,400 Searches Per Month
This is no surprise to me really. With so much of our mind taken up by the opposite sex, it’s pretty self explanatory. It doesn’t mean you need to drop a ridiculous love story that’s super sappy. But it means that you can talk about love and people will want to listen.
This is never a bad thing. Also you can put this into your description of the song on Soundcloud or YouTube and expect for people to show up and listen to your content because you are maximizing your search engine optimization.
Life – 1,900 Searches Per Month
This is a super broad and generic category. As everyone has different life experiences. But that is also what makes it so unique. Everyone has different life experiences. The key to making a rap about life is to be vulnerable and also not to make your words boring.
If you want to rap about life, consider making your raps less obvious. Like if you wanted to say “I hate my job”. Consider trying something different like “The sound of the clock ticking makes me rage in my cubicle”.
Depression
Here is a great topic that a lot of people can relate with. Even if you’ve never been through it before you can always have a unique opinion or angle on the matter. Even if it’s super opposed to people with depression. If it rattles some cages, even better. Rap is about getting your message out there. Either to help people, or to educate so they might not make the most mistakes.
Fake Friends – 390 Searches Per Month
So this is not as popular as a topic with 390 searches on Google. But that being said, that’s still a lot of potential people listening to your music. Consider that Youtube shows up at the top of the search engine results very often and this could be a great way to get some steady listens to your music.
Food – 1,600 Searches Per Month
So Mac Lethal got millions of views on his fast rap about pancakes. This is a strategy that can be done for any food that you want to rap about. If you really don’t feel like you can get some emotion behind food or pancakes, consider making it a metaphor for something else in your life. You eat food what you are what you eat. So if you eat trash then maybe you feel like trash. There are a ton of ways to flip this around into an interesting topic to rap about.
Or maybe food is a problem in your life. Maybe you eat a lot or eat too little and are skinny. These are also topics that can be related to fairly easily as well.
Heartbreak – 320 Searches Per Month
Heartbreak is a topic that a lot of people can relate too. Whether that’s overcoming heartbreak or being in the rut you get stuck in after you go through it. I think almost everyone on this earth can relate to this topic and it resonates with a lot of people. If you are worried because most of your fans are males, then just don’t make it sappy and you shouldn’t have a problem connecting with them. Either way be true to who you are and give your honest opinion about the topic at hand.
I highly recommend writing out a story, idea, concept for the whole track in paragraph form first. So you have a basic song structure to follow and understand. Obviously this will change as you go but it’s great to get the ideas down and look at them
Money – 1,300 Searches Per Month
This is a common one you hear about in the top 40 charts. Although money can be an interesting topic in a lot of ways. There are more ways than you think that money can be related. For example you could talk about banks, entrepreneurship or even how little money you have. You can talk about your struggles with money, or your triumphs.
Racism – 880 Searches Per Month
Joyner Lucas already freaking killed this topic with a viral video about racism. But that being said everyone is always looking for more opinions to relate too. Or even interesting takes on current trends and issues in the world. This is a searched one because there are opposing sides and people enjoy listening to controversy.
I hope these gave you some idea of what you can rap about. Because sure, you should express YOURSELF. But if you don’t have a direction then people are not going to be able to connect. It’s like starting a business and selling everything under the sun. Noone will know what you bring to the table.
