В документах MS Word (.doc, .docx) не отображаются формулы и картинки, вместо них пустая рамка.
Открыл файл на другом ПК, все формулы отображаются. Значит дело в настройках офиса на конкретном компьютере.
Решение
1. Запустить MS Office 2007/2010 и открыть «Параметры Word»

i have had this problem since i got the pc brand new
i make a word document and ad a photo in the document.
if i scroll down before or after i save it or any other time i look at the
document the pictures disappears.
if i minimize the document and restore it. poof there it is but if i scroll
up or down they are gone.

Saved document
as .docx. 3/4 of document shows inserted jpg images. Bottom half shows blank
space where images used to be. I can click and a quick something flashes where
the image should be. Picture tools — format shows there is an image as it shows
the height and width when I click in the area but goes away when I click out of
the area. Bottom 1/3 of Word 2016 document shows spaces where images used to be
but now not displayed. I made sure the placeholders option was not
checked in Advanced under Options. Any ideas greatly appreciated.<o:p></o:p>

Found the answer. I was in Web Layout mode and when I changed to Read or Print layout, all the images appeared.

Pictures disappeared from MS Word document
I have recently had a new hard drive installed, and all documents, pictures etc have been transferred over from my old drive. I was using Microsoft Word 10. Everything transferred okay, but on going into a word document previously created the pictures have disappeared — is there a solution. thank you

What document format is used? Is it .odt (best) or .doc?
As possibly the folder format differs on the new computer, you may need to reinsert the pictures.

Also, if the pictures were embedded in the document file they should still be there; if they were linked, their position relative to the transferred file is a key factor.

thank you all for your replies. firstly where the pictures should be, between the words, there is a blank space. on opening up an old word document it is now saved with the extension .docx

For the record, it happened to me in 2006 with MS Word and a .doc file. That was the reason why I decided to switch to OpenOffice(.org) because of the documented file format (.odt from the ODF standard).
If the file size is small, then all the pics have been lost.
In the properties of the files, are there any links to the pics (if they were not embedded)?
LibreOffice 7.4 on Xubuntu 22.10 and 7.4 portable on Windows 10

After pasting a picture in Word it disappears from view, but is still there.
If I close the document and reopen it will appear. This doesn’t happen all
the time.
