I have been doing one word since 2014; you can read about my journey and words here. For this month of January, I have been using a 90 day devotional book, “One Word For Today: For Spirit Filled Living”.

This little devotional book brings you one word and one verse to reflect on each day. A short reading helps make for a practical application to one’s day.

Each day also includes a question to think on, a prayer, and an action step.

This month we used the book in a small group setting, selecting 30 selected words from the assortment presented. Each word and Scripture prompted good conversation and reflection.

It was a wonderful way to kick the new year off. Nothing too heavy or over complicated. Simply a Scripture verse and a word to keep our minds focused on the Lord.

This little book is perfect for both individual and groups. It provides a way to think and discuss one word, one Scripture and stay concentrated on the theme. It was enjoyed by us all.

‘Your right hand and strong arm…helped them.’

Did you hear about the frog that was running out of water, so he asked two birds to transport him to a nearby pond? He convinced each of them to carry one end of a stick in their beak while he bit down on the centre and held on. It was a sight to behold: two birds, one stick, and a frog in the middle. They were making progress until a cow in a pasture looked up, saw the trio passing overhead, and asked, ‘Who thought of that?’ At that point the frog couldn’t resist. Pride prevailed over prudence, and as he plummeted to earth, he yelled, ‘It was meeee…!’

Don’t make the same error. ‘Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall’ (Proverbs 16:18 NLT). Why are you good at doing what you do? For your own comfort? To save for your retirement? To bolster your self-esteem? No, these are all bonuses, not the main reason. You’re good at what you do – for God’s sake. It’s about Him, not you! Read and ponder these words in your heart: ‘Wealth and honour come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand…at your discretion people are made great and given strength’ (1 Chronicles 29:12 NLT).

Recalling the victories, blessings, and successes Israel had experienced, David reminds us: ‘They did not conquer…with their swords; it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory. It was your right hand and strong arm…that helped them, for you loved them’ (Psalm 44:3 NLT). Keep in mind that the blessings you enjoy every day are yours only because God favoured and smiled on you. That’s the truth!

Good Morning! God Loves YOU!! ❤️👍

Today’s ‘One Word’ Scripture
: Proverbs 3:5-8

TRUST’ in the Lord with all thine heart; an lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all they ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.  It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.  Proverbs 3:5-8

TRUST!

BRINGS ABOUT DIVINE DIRECTION!

‘OUR WISDOM’ IS FOOLISHNESS COMPAIRED TO GOD’S WISDOM.  WHEN WE ‘FEAR THE LORD’ WE OPEN UP A TREASURE CHEST OF KNOWLEDGE BEYOND OUR HUMAN KNOWLEDGE.

‘TRUST’ IS THE KEY TO THAT TREASURE CHEST!

Just yesterday, I was working on a lawn tool that was going ‘hay-wire’ that needed some repairs.  It was a ‘weed-Wacker’ that was not allowing the cord to come out of its hub.

After trying to fix it ‘my-way’ and struggling a bit, it was like the Lord showed me a tool in my tool box that would not be normally used for this type of repair.   I tried it, and ‘TRUSTED’ the ‘LOrd’s Tool’ and it worked perfectly!!

And, I finished the yard work with a repaired ‘Weed-Wacker! Nice 👦

Why do we struggle with trying ‘our own way’ in fixing things or correcting life’s problems when God’s Word says to

«TRUST HIM»?!!

TRUST HIM today and watch

your day turn out better than

you could have ever planned.

Remember, we have a choice:

1) Leaning on ‘our understanding’

or

2) TRUSTING the LORD in all our ways.

I choose #2.

Don’t YOu??

 😉
