Cinema

1. Cinema has become one of the most popular kinds of art in the 20^th century. The invention of the photography in 1828 played a very important role in the development of the cinema. In 1895 the cinema was born. After the brothers Lumier had invented the cinematography, the cinema widely spread all over the world. The first movie theatres appeared in 1904. And in 1907 the literature works started to be widely used for the movie scripts. 

2. Nowadays science-fiction films are very popular. They create a dream world. They describe other planets and extraterrestrial living- beings (ETs). Some of these films impress with their plot, some with special effects. Love stories and comedies are good old genres of the movies. They are adored by everyone.  An adaptation is the film which is based on a novel. Cartoons are especially loved by kids. Documentaries are about real people and events. The most fascinating are about nature.

3. The movies are a powerful force in contemporary life. A great number of various types of films are released all over the world. Westerns are the films with cowboys, Indians , a lot of shooting and chasing. Action films are usually full of fighting, shooting and blood. There is also a hero who fights the enemies in some extraordinary circumstances. Horror films and thrillers are full of terrible characters, such as vampires, monsters and murderers. Only people with strong nerves can watch them.

4. I would like to say a few words about the people who make films. When a director has an idea of shooting a film, he finds a scriptwriter who writes a script. Then he has to find a producer who will be in charge of the finances and all the other numerous problems. Then the director invites some stars to take the main parts. If there are some tricks in the film, the stunt masters are necessary. Of course, there are a lot of extras who secretly dream of becoming stars.

The art director is responsible for the set and costumes. The sound technician chooses music and records the sound track for the film. The film is shot by the camera crew, supervised by the director of photography.

Каждый год в апреле в городе Ногинске
Московской области проходит Международный
детский конкурс английского языка “Good Luck”,
организаторами которого являются Международный
Центр творческой инициативы и Администрация
Ногинского района.

“Good Luck” – это культурно-образовательный
проект, в котором дети 10-11 лет проявляют свои
знания английского языка, литературы, истории и
демонстрируют свои творческие способности.

Конкурс проходит в несколько этапов. К его
финалу (а это красочное, великолепно
поставленное режиссёром шоу) допускаются 14
участников из числа победителей отборочных
туров. Тема конкурса объявляется за год, чтобы у
ребят было время подготовиться как следует и как
можно лучше проявить себя в отборочных турах, а,
если посчастливится, – то и в финальном шоу.
Попасть в финал не просто. В течение года будущие
участники совершенствуют свое мастерство в
исполнении танцев и песен, развивают навыки
монологической и диалогической речи на
английском языке, значительно пополняют свой
лексический запас, обогащают свои знания и
расширяют кругозор по теме предстоящего
конкурса.

Темы конкурса каждый год – разные: «Вокруг
света», «Морской мир», «Музыка», «Кино», «Театр»,
«В мире животных», и т.д.

Победители и призеры финального шоу
награждаются культурно-образовательной
поездкой в англоязычные страны.

В данной публикации привожу тест, который
составила и использовала для подготовки ребят к
этому конкурсу. Тест позволяет проверить у них
знание лексики по теме «Кино», грамматики, правил
чтения, умение строить вопросительные
предложения, языковую догадку, знание реалий
страны изучаемого языка.

В дальнейшем могу поделиться с коллегами
тестами и по другим темам.

Cinemas in London

One of the first cinema films was made by Edison ,but Edison, but the intervals between his photographic exposures were too short- about forty-eight photographs taken to the second. The human eye could not see them so fast and the movements therefore appeared very jerky. This made the eyes tired.

When Edison’s machine was brought to France to show films, it was seen there by Auguste and Louis Lumiere . These two brothers soon made a camera and projector that worked at about 16 photographs per second . This reduced the jerkiness very much, and in December 1895 the Lumiere brothers gave the worlds’s first real cinematograph show . Their film was called The Arrival of a Train at a Station. The film was so good that some of the audience almost expected the train to rush out at them from the screen.

In1903 one of Edison’s cameramen made a new long picture . It was called “ The Life of an American Fireman”. People liked it and asked for more ; and so more films of this kind were made.More cinemas were built.

These first films had no sound . When it was necessary , printed words were thrown on the screen to explain what was happening what people were saying .Usually music was played during the showing of a film . If the film was showing moonlight on the sea ,the music was gentle and sweet. If there was a fight or a storm ,the music was loud and noisy.
