The instruction to evacuate will be broadcasted immidiately. And we do hope you all will be reasonable enough to follow it. II. Read the text and answer the questions
The most famous lifesaver in history saved thousands of lives and many ships. He first appeared at the end of the nineteenth century. For more than twenty years he guided ships through dangerous waters. He could not read or write and he had no training. The sailors called him Jack and he was a dolphin. Near the coast of New Zealand there is a dangerous passage called French Pass. It had a bad reputation until Jack arrived. For over twenty years Jack met passing ships. He swam near the ship but when it reached the passage he swam in front of the ship until it was on the other side of French Pass. In 1903 a passenger on board the «Penguin” drank too much and fired a gun at Jack. The sailors were angry and wanted to throw him into the sea, but the captain stopped them. Everybody thought Jack was dead, but he was not. True, he never met the «Penguin” again. One day the ship hit the rocks in the Pass and was lost. Jack probably died of old age in 1912 but he wasn’t forgotten. There is a statue erected to his memory on the beach of Wellington .

Аудирование и онлайн диктанты для 4-6 класса по английскому языку
Потренируйтесь в понимании текстов на слух и попробуйте правильно писать отдельные слова и предложения под диктовку в потоке речи. Задания несложные, для всех желающих проверить себя на уровне elementary.

Прослушайте текст на английском языке, который является примером рассказа человека о себе, и выполните ряд заданий на проверку понимания.
1. Упражнение на вставку пропущенных слов. Впечатываем слова и цифры буквами в пустые окошки. Нажимаем Check для самопроверки.
2. По стрелке выше или ниже первого задания переходим ко второму. Это задание типа TRUE/FALSE. Впечатываем только первые буквы T или F.
3. Здесь вы увидите текст, который был дан для прослушивания. В нем пропущены некоторые предлоги. Нужно заполнить ими все пропуски и проверить себя.

Аудирование: European dishes
Это небольшое тренировочное аудирование с элементом игры. Если вы уже имеете представление о теме, нетрудно будет понять текст на английском языке о популярных блюдах шести европейских стран. Заодно повторите, как пишутся названия этих государств и как выглядят их флаги.
*В тексте упоминается Англия, а так как она является частью Соединенного королевства, то на слайдах представлен флаг UK.
Предлагается два варианта выполнения задания (можно воспользоваться только вторым):
1. Нажимаем на кнопку «Guess» и без прослушивания текста выбираем те блюда, которые на ваш взгляд, популярны в той стране, которая отмечена на слайде. Их может быть одно, два или три. Если появится ошибка, придется просто перейти на следующий слайд. Когда все действия будут завершены, возвращаемся в начало и переходим к аудированию по второму варианту.
2. Щелкаем по кнопке «Play« и слушаем аудиозапись. Стараемся запомнить всю нужную информацию. Затем проверяем себя, последовательно нажимая на изображения флагов.

Они предназначены для самостоятельного выполнения. Аудио тексты озвучены носителями языка, прилагаются скрипты. Запись включается прямо на слайде. Можно ставить её на паузу и повторять неоднократно. Hi, many thanks for inviting me. I’ve been a TV news presenter for four years now. I did a couple of other jobs after university, first in radio in my home city and then as a journalist on a magazine. I enjoyed both jobs very much.
I present the five o’clock evening news. There’s a lot of preparation to do before I start. First I get the newspapers and go through each one carefully. That way I understand what’s in the news reports I have to present that day. Then I have meetings with the editor of the news programme in the TV studio.
After that I have to spend a bit of time choosing the right jacket to put on! I think it’s really important, because that’s what you see when I’m sitting at my desk, reading the news. But at least I don’t need to worry about my trousers or my shoes as no-one gets to look at those!
What do I find particularly difficult? Well, I sometimes say things wrongly! I don’t often make mistakes with the names of cities or countries, whatever the language, but it’s names of people which I sometimes find a real challenge to get exactly right!
Now, I can’t choose what news to present of course! But I do have my favourite topic. I really enjoy business, so reading news about that is always interesting to me. For some of my colleagues, the most interesting subject is politics or even fashion. We’re all different!
What about the future? I’ve been told I could make a good actor. I’ve never been attracted by that, though. As a teenager, I always dreamt of becoming a producer. I still think it would be exciting if I get the chance. Maybe I’ll do that one day.

Expressions with the word «dog»
