Rhapsody of Realities devotional ~ Thursday August 28th, 2014.
Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15, AMP).
For you to live a joyful life, and be the full expression of the will, righteousness, and glory of God, you have to know the Word for yourself and live by it. Those who don’t know the Word of God can hardly fulfil God’s desire and plans for their lives. The Word of God made you (1 Peter 1:23), and except you live by the Word, you’ll not be the “you” that God dreamed of, nor fulfil His destiny for you. This is why we teach the Word and encourage God’s children to be students of the Word. You must know the Word for yourself.
Don’t live on the basis of assumptions. Don’t let people influence you with their “religious” opinion of God. Don’t accept that something is from God just because it sounds good, nice or religious.
Jesus said in John 5:39, “Search the scriptures…”; Paul said in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
The Word of God is the mind of God expressed; His will written and expressed for us. What an extraordinary advantage, that you can study the Word for yourself, understand it, and live accordingly! It’s a great blessing!
The measure of your glorious and victorious life will be to the degree of your knowledge of God’s Word, and how much of it you put to work. It’s not about how long you’ve been a Christian; it’s about how well you know and apply the Word.
Thank God we have the unparalleled advantage of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, who grants us understanding of the Word! He’s the Author of the Scriptures; so as you study, you can depend on Him to guide you, and grant you insight into divine mysteries and secrets.
Give the Word your attention and time. Study and put your heart in it. If you want to live a life that’s beyond the ordinary, it’s by the Word, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer…
Dear Father, I thank you for showing me the importance of personal study of your Word, a vital ingredient in my Christian walk. As I study and meditate on the Word today, I’m positioned to fulfil your desire and plan for my life, and my profiting is evident, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

2 Timothy 3:16 says all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, which means in studying the Bible, you must first yield to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You shouldn’t study the Scriptures the way you would an academic journal or a textbook. When you study, you have to cross-reference scriptures, and rely on the Holy Spirit to grant you understanding.
Part of the ministry of the Spirit in your life is to grant you revelation knowledge of the Word; He grants you insight into the secrets and mysteries of the Kingdom. He teaches you the Word. Therefore, relying on Him, and affirming that He’s with you to teach you and unveil the Word to you as you study, is very important.

Furthermore, be sure to have a good study Bible. Not every Bible is a study Bible. A study Bible has cross-references. There, you’d find different terms, words, phrases or sentences that are related in different parts of the scriptures. The Rhapsody of Realities Devotional Study Bible, for example, has cross references, with inspiring articles that’ll aid your study and understanding of the Word. Until and unless you know the Word for yourself, you’re going to be a victim in life. In Hosea 4:6, God didn’t say, “My people perish because they don’t pray enough, go to church, or are always doing the wrong thing”; no! Rather, He said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge….” He wasn’t talking about knowledge of science or history either; He was referring to the knowledge of the Word.
It’s important that you apply the Word in your own life. However, to apply it, first, you must know it. That’s why He wants you to study. You can be a success, live victoriously, walk in divine health, and win every day. Refuse to be ignorant. Give yourself to the Word and your success, progress and prosperity will be inevitable.
Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word which illuminates my path and causes me to walk in your wisdom. By your Spirit, the eyes of my understanding are enlightened, and my mind is renewed in line with your Word, for progress, increase, prosperity, and victory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

KNOW THE WORD FOR YOURSELF
The life of
a Christian isn’t ordinary; it’s supernatural. This is why we’ve been
instructed through God’s Word, to live with the consciousness of who we are in
Christ. You have to leave the realm of the ordinary and get into the realm of
the supernatural, where you take control of the affairs of your life.We are
citizens of Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem; this is the city of the living God.
As a citizen of this city you have undeniable rights: the right to live, to
choose and to receive God’s blessings in Christ. It is also important to know that we have an adversary – the devil, whose
mandate is to stop you from enjoying and exercising your rights in Christ
Jesus. If you don’t know your rights in Christ, you’ll be at his mercy and
that’s a dangerous way for you to live as a Christian
Start today by digging into God’s Word and searching the Scriptures for
yourself. Discover your rights and privileges in Christ: what God has said you
can do and have, and then begin to appropriate them in your life. Give no room
to the devil and never allow him cheat you out of your inheritance in Christ.

Money likes me. Money flows easily into my life. As I give, I make room for more. I am a conduit of money into the kingdom. I attract money naturally. Everything I touch is minting money. I am laying up gold as dust. The angel of wealth accompany me everywhere I go and causes money to come to me freely. I have new opportunities and channel to make money. I have more than enough money to fulfill all my commitments and vows. Whatever activities I perform makes money for me and I am always full of money. Financial ideas keeps coming to me. I have money to save, to spend and to give. Money and I have a good relationship. It does not fear or shy away from me. I know how to manage, multiply and utilize it. I am a money magnet; money is constantly attracted to me. Men are giving into my account daily. Every day I am attracting and saving more and more money. He daily loads me with benefits. I have all the money I require for the good life and godliness. I
Somebody said, «There’s financial harmattan. Everywhere is just dry». Not me! Dry? Never! Not in my DNA. I am always in surplus! But when do you have the most dust? In time of dryness! Wipe the dust today, come back tomorrow, the dust is back, all over the place. The scripture is saying «In time of dryness, I lay up gold as dust (Job 22:24). Too much money! When their bank accounts are frowning, my own bank accounts are laughing, shouting for joy. Gloryyyyy!!! Remember, everything in life including your bank accounts have intelligence. Let my bank accounts shout for joy, and be glad! Because my bank accounts are favoring God’s righteous cause, yea, let my finances say continually , Let the Lord be magnified…. (Psalm 35:27)! Hallelujah!!! Glory to God! It’s time to start laying up gold as dust and it’s time to start funding the Gospel big time. My name is on every naira, every rand, every dollar, every cedis, every euro, and every pound, Just look at them

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
I was sharing God’s Word with a guy one time and in the process mentioned certain striking truths about the new creation which the fellow had never heard before. Stunned by the revelations of God’s Word that I shared with him, he said, “Our priest didn’t tell us that.” I smiled and said to him “Your priest didn’t tell you because he didn’t know it.”
It’s interesting to know that the reason many Christians don’t have information about God’s plans and purposes for their lives is that they don’t study the Word for themselves. For some, the most they know of the Bible is to recite the old rhyme: “Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, bless the bed that I lay on!” But that won’t do you any good. That fellow I was sharing the Word with didn’t think there was any problem with his ignorance of the scriptures. What he didn’t realize was that God wouldn’t hold the priest responsible for his ignorance, for he ought to know the Word for himself.
I made up my mind many years ago to know God’s Word for myself. To achieve this, I decided to invest quality time studying and meditating on the Word, seeking to know the “What,” “How” and “Why” of the scriptures. Knowing the “what” means knowing your inheritance in Christ; knowing everything He has put in place for you. It involves knowing who you are, your rights, privileges and authority in Christ Jesus.
However, it’s not enough to merely know what God has given you; you have to know “how” to take advantage and enjoy your inheritance in Christ. Thus knowing the “how” means learning to take possession of what the Word of God says belongs to you—taking possession of what’s rightfully yours. Knowing the “Why” is coming into the full understanding and awareness of your inheritance in Christ, and why you should expect the blessings of the Lord to come to pass in your life. It makes you understand the purpose of the blessing so you can use it rightly.
When you make up your mind to know God’s Word for yourself this way, the devil won’t be able to cheat you out of God’s best! You’ll be armed with enough information to quell his schemes and frustrate his maneuvers. Study the Word today, for it pays to know the Word for yourself!
Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for making your Word available to me. I declare that I’m increasing in knowledge and understanding, and the Word of God is producing in me what it talks about. I have the mindset of a victor because your Word is at work in me mightily in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
