English (US)
Daybreak is the best choice! Day break are two separate words, so they don’t mean the same thing like «springtime» vs. «spring time». Day of break doesn’t make sense, but you can use «break of dawn» or «at the break of dawn» too.

Simplified Chinese (China)
@tyron26 ah, I have another question. you said Daybreak and Day break don’t mean the same thing. then what does day break mean? is it a correct phrase with other meaning?
-
English (US)
Not really, that’s just spelling «daybreak» incorrectly. Day and break are two separate words with two different meanings while daybreak is one word with one meaning. If you said «I woke up at day break», people will just think you mispelt «daybreak». So if you call your game daybreak, people will think you made a spelling error. Hope that helps!
(Also, good luck with your game! 👍)
-
Simplified Chinese (China)
@tyron26 I really appreciate it. Thanks a lot!
I’m wondering there is a television program called Day Break. doesn’t it make sense or is it intentional to make special dramatic effect or something?
forgive me for asking a lot of questions. I am so curious and worry about making mistakes.^^
-
English (US)
It’s alright! It’s good to be curious! When they say «day break» they mean
«daybreak». It probably adds emphasis on the words. If you say «day break» or «daybreak», people with think of the word «daybreak» anyways, so it isn’t too important. In this case it’s a choice of style.
-
Simplified Chinese (China)
@tyron26 OK, get it! you are so patient. Thank you again ^^

Other forms: daybreaks
Daybreak is the moment in the morning when the sun begins to rise. If you want to see the sunrise over the ocean, you have to wake up well before daybreak.
Daybreak can also be called «sunrise,» «dawn,» or «the break of day.» It’s the very first glimpse of sunlight you see in the morning, which happens very early in the summertime and later in winter. Bus drivers, morning radio hosts, and bakers often have to rise before daybreak in order to get to work on time. The break part of the word comes from the Old English root brecan, which means «shatter,» but also «burst forth.»
