  • None. Actually, I’d prefer you didn’t do one at all. Better yet, why don’t you just get off TWC so I don’t have to hear anymore of your stupid posts that just cast burdens on my ears.

Default «The word impossible is not in my dictionary.»

«The Word Impossible is not in my dictionary.»

    -Napoleon Bonaparte

This famed quote by the French Emperor exemplifies the essence of the man: There was no ceiling too high, no enemy too strong, no numbers to great no goal unreachable. He lived the quote of Michelangelo, the famed sculptor- «The problem is not that we set our goals too high and we miss them it is that we set them too low and we reach them.» Other generals simply fought by the standards of 18th century warfare-Napoleon created his own standards. Others set their goals for what seemed reachable in the current day and age-Napoleon set his goals for what would be remembered in all ages. Fighting nearly all of Europe for over fifteen years, Napoleon created an army and an empire that would become the envy of the world. His impossible goals that became possible inspired the French, other powers and generals to come to take the same risks and steps that turned him into Napoleon Bonaparte.

This AAR will be chronicling a historical account of Napoleon’s Empire. This AAR with cover the events in a historical like fashion. This is to give them game a feel that we’re not covering someone’s campaign on Total War, we are covering the history of the French Empire. I’ll change in my description some things that don’t line up with history that exsist in the game such as-

    A. Troop numbers. Troops numbers will be elevated to represent tens of thousands in my description, even though TW only has a few thousand. This will also apply to casualties. I’ll still keep in the same ratios-But just with larger numbers.

    B. Generals. While there are but a handful of generals in TW at a time, in Napoleon;s age there were hundreds. In the AAR, I’ll reference officers who aren’t visibly with the army as direct commanders of some of the units. Of course however, the officers who are both in history and in game will have more attention.

    C. Minor historical details.

With that said, what should my campaign be on? I could do one of three things:

    A. A grand campaign that just uses historical details and approach to the writing.

    B. A chronicle of Napoleon’s campaigns using the historical battles.

    C. Take a famed campaign of Napoleon and make a ‘what if’ and change the course of history.

Once this is decided, the campaign will begin.

Very clever idea! Personally I’d like a mix between the history of Napoleon and the occasional ‘What If’ moment such as an invasion of the British isles for example after the majority of the mainland powers having been defeated. Will the AAR follow some of Napoleon’s historical battles too? That would be an interesting addition.

I really hope no one chooses the forth option! From what I’ve heard of your ideas so far, looks like you certainly have a lot of potential to write a great historical AAR. I shall be impatiently looking forward to your first post on it, always wonderful to see a new AAR start up here in the Napoleon forums.

    Kind Regards,

    Lewis

I say a combo of A and C…make a What If scenario with a campaign!

when the union’s inspiration through the worker’s blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.

Voted for A, to few grand campaigns here. Oh about troop numbers you can increase them yourself without mod tools, there is a tutorial for it: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=335867. anyhow i wish you luck.

«I saw on the stage a woman, dressed in her maid’s clothes, hearing her husband speak the tenderest words to her he had in years because he thought she was someone else. And then her voice, a soaring forgivnesss, we were all forgiven.»
    — Salieri, Amadeus

so i tested your mod. nothing great. just give up.
