In HOUSE, the main goal of the game is to reach an ending, which, unsurprisingly, requires Tabby and/or Melody to not die of the many deaths that may befall either of them within the house.
Chapter 1[]
There are six endings to Chapter 1. The first four must be completed in any order before the fifth one can be attempted. The sixth one can be attempted after the fifth is completed, but it is entirely optional.

Ending 1 — Patricide[]Kill your dad. In order to achieve this ending, all one has to do is kill James when he comes home at 12am. While this may sound like a simple task, it is anything but simple, as when James is first attacked, he will continue to try to kill Tabby even after he has been sliced in half. When he is attacked again, he will continue to try to kill her as just a head, bouncing and vomiting blood to melt her into a skeleton with his acidic fluids. In order to kill him, Tabby must attack him three times, with whatever weapon. After James dies, Tabby will fall to her knees in exhaustion, relieved that she finally killed her dad. When the game is entered again, Tabby will get a new journal entry named «Father».

Ending 2 — Good Girl[]Kill your family. In order to achieve this ending, Tabby must kill everyone in her family. This includes Lisa, Melody, the Cat, Dolly, and the Rat. It should be noted that after killing Melody, Lisa, or the Cat, they will appear in rooms in an undead form (see Possessed Melody, Demon Mom, and Demon Cat respectively). In order to see progress of how many family members are dead, one must talk to the Akaname. This can be done by flushing the toilet after 5pm, which will make her emerge and inform Tabby of her progress. Keep in mind that Tabby must explicitly kill (as opposed to them dying in other ways) at least one member of her family before attempting to speak to Akaname, otherwise she, will be hostile and attack her instead. She will also become hostile if attacked at any point.
At 12am, if the entire family has been killed by Tabby, James will arrive home with unique dialogue. Tabby will automatically walk to the main room onto the carpet, as will James. Tabby will be picked up and hugged by her dad, and the screen will fade to black. When the game is entered again, Tabby will get the journal entry «Bloodshed». |

Ending 3 — The Song[]Subdue your dad. In order to achieve this ending, Tabby must save Melody. Melody does not want to live, however, and the house does not want her to either. She will try to perform several tasks that end with her being killed, including even trying to commit suicide. Tabby must break several items in order to save Melody. When Melody is saved, she will lie in her bed, to which she must be given Dolly.
When it gets to 12am, Melody will get out of her bed with Dolly, walk into the main room, and begin playing the flute. James will arrive home, and walk towards Melody. Instead of picking her up and stabbing her, he falls onto his knees, dropping his knife and looking down. After this ending, Tabby will get the journal entry «The Song». |

Ending 4 — Family[]Save your family. In order to achieve this ending, Tabby must save the entire family. This includes the Cat, Melody, Lisa, and the Rat. In order to do this, Tabby must save Melody as in the previous ending, except she must not give her Dolly. Tabby must also prevent Lisa from slipping by placing the bucket below the leak in the kitchen, prevent the Cat from being burnt alive by pouring water on the fire in the music room and subdue the Rat by giving it a sandwich. At 9pm, the fridge will open, and a bloody hand will reach out to grab Lisa, who is passed out from drinking. Tabby must attack the hand with the axe, causing it to retreat, before the Lankler emerges. If the Lankler catches Tabby, it will eat her, similar to how the Akaname behaves, only the Lankler is much slower.
If the Lankler fails to catch Tabby by 12am, its head will explode, killing it. This will lead to an image of all the family (including James and the Rat) in the kitchen, with the sun shining from outside. When Tabby wakes up again, she will get the journal entry «Family». |

True Ending — The End[]Break free. This is the true ending of Chapter 1, and completing this ending will allow Chapter 2 to be played. In order to even start the ending, all other endings must be achieved. As each ending is achieved, the clock in the hallway becomes cracked with blood, forming a kind of four-pointed star. When all four endings are achieved, the clock can be destroyed with the axe, causing the game to enter the state of Frozen Time. Tabby must destroy the house’s different body parts. She must destroy the Eyes by shooting them with the slingshot, destroy the Fingers by chopping one of them off with an axe, and destroy the Mouth by dropping the bowling ball on its teeth. After destroying all three, the Heart can then be destroyed using the shotgun. During all of this, Husks will spawn around the house. Once the Heart is destroyed, Tabby will fall into a pit and end up in a large void underneath the house. The bodies of Lisa, the Rat and the Cat can be found in this void. Eventually, Tabby will find the Puppetmaster. Once he has been found, a cutscene will trigger, in which he will ask Tabby to approach him. However, once Tabby approaches him, he will grab her and insist she doesn’t leave. Tabby will then rip her arm off in order to escape, and destroy the Puppetmaster with her axe. After the True Ending is achieved, the journal entry «Memories» will be unlocked, and the Bonus Ending can now be attempted. The Melody Doll will also appear in Melody’s room, which can be given to the Neighbor to play Chapter 2. |

Bonus Ending — A New Friend[]Make a new friend. This ending can only be attempted after the True Ending, and completing it is not required at all. To perform it, Tabby must kill 8 frogs before midnight. Only one frog will be in the house at one time, and they will spawn in random rooms, excluding the parents’ room. They can be killed either with the axe or the bowling ball. If this is done successfully, instead of James appearing at the door at midnight, the Frog Lord will appear. The Frog Lord is a much tougher boss than James; it takes six hits to defeat it, and it can only be damaged with the axe, although other items can stun it momentarily. Once the Frog Lord is defeated, Tabby will meet Froggy, and gain the «Nightmares» entry in her journal. |

True Ending — Moving On[]Help Melody escape the house. For this ending, Melody must defeat Jizo, which requires the help of three other characters: Lisa, James and Toby. To get Lisa on your side, Melody must wait until 3:00am, when she begins drinking wine. She then must use the flute and play the «song» located in the «Screams» entry in her journal. This will cause the wine bottle to shatter, meaning Lisa can no longer drink and is snapped out of her trance and a bird exploding with it. To get Toby on your side, Melody must obtain the brass key by giving the Rat a cup of toilet water. She can then unlock the parents’ room, and access the basement through it. Inside the basement, Melody must use the flute again to play the song located in the «Father» entry in her journal. This will awaken Toby’s corpse earlier than usual, and prevent him from ever killing James. Toby’s corpse will begin chasing her (and pointing at her when it first sees or find her and tries to kill you). Leading him to Toby’s ghost, who will possess the corpse and make him able to fight Jizo.
As long as Toby does not kill James, and Melody cuts the noose trap in the main room with the scissors that were awarded by seamstress before James gets to it, James will arrive in the main room before Jizo appears. Once Jizo arrives, Melody must lure him to all three previously mentioned characters, who will all attack him before having their faces stomped through. It is recommended to lure him to James first, then to Lisa, then finally to Toby. Once all three have attacked him, he will become stunned, at which point Melody can cut him with her scissors, causing him to fall backwards and through the floor. When Melody is ready, she can jump into the hole, bringing her to the void underneath the house once again, where she can find Tabby body and escape the house with her. Completing this ending will unlock the chapter selection menu, where the player can replay any of the two chapters. |

Trivia[]
- After every ending of Chapter 1, Dolly will appear, giving threats to the player. This will stop happening once the True Ending is achieved.
- The endings «Patricide» and «Good Girl» are often incorrectly referred to as «Father» and «Bloodshed», as those are the names of the journal entries unlocked after the respective endings are completed. However, the names of the achievements unlocked after these endings are achieved are «Patricide» and «Good Girl».
- «Patricide» is the killing of one’s father, coming from the Latin word Pater, meaning «father», and the suffix -cide, meaning «kill».
- «Good Girl» comes from what James says when he comes home during the «Good Girl» ending, where he says «Tabby, I’m home. You’ve been a very good girl.»
- «The Song» specifically references the True Ending in its ending words.
- In the «Family» ending, if the fire is not put out and the cat is lit aflame, the poor kitty can still be saved if water is splashed onto it while it’s still on fire running around.
- In the «Moving On» ending for Chapter 2, if the Cat kills the Piano Demon by luring a mouse into the room while the piano is being played before the ending is achieved, the Cat will jump down with Melody, garnering the player an achievement. The Cat will thereafter appear on the chapter selection screen.
