Фрукты на английском

Начнем с грамматического аспекта: у самого слова «фрукт» у англичан есть целых 2 формы множественного числа: Fruit и Fruits. Если мы думаем просто о фруктах, не конкретизируя его тип, используется форма fruit. К примеру, eat­ing fruit in autumn is very healthy — осенью очень полезно кушать фрукты. Или про магазин говорят — fruit and veg­eta­bles.

А если мы думаем о видах фруктов, используется форма fruits. Пример: She going to try exot­ic fruits in Thai­land (Она собирается попробовать экзотические фрукты в Таиланде).

Сами типы фруктов тоже исчисляются и могут быть представлены ед. или мн. числом. К примеру, peach — это 1 персик, а peach­es — это много персиков.

Теперь перейдем к списку слов. Заметьте, что многие названия по-русски звучат почти точно так же. Вам будет легко их запомнить.

«Ягода» на английский мы переведем как berry. Когда будете читать приведенный ниже список заметьте, что эта часть (berry) есть во многих названиях ягод! Но важно не только правильно запомнить написание и произношение ягодок, но и научиться правильно использовать их в своей речи. Между ягодками в ед. числе и мн. в английском и русском есть существенная разница.

По-русски мы скажем «малина», и это может означать и 1 ягоду малины, и целое лукошко. Например: «На ужин я ел малину». Конечно, не 1 маленькую ягодку, а некоторое её количество. Отсюда понятно, что в нашем языке само слово малина не имеет мн. числа. Мы можем только уточнить, например, сказав «лукошко малины». В английском все названия ягод могут использоваться как в единственном числе, обозначающим 1 ягоду, так и во множественном, что является собирательным существительным — конкретным видом какой-то ягоды. Ras­ber­ry — 1 ягода малины, rasp­ber­ries — собирательный образ вида красных сладких ягод.
