10 QUOTES WITH «PRIMARY SCHOOL»

Famous quotes and sentences with the word primary school.

In primary school in south-eastern Nigeria, I was taught that Hosni Mubarak was the president of Egypt. I learned the same thing in secondary school. In university, Mubarak was still president of Egypt. I came to assume, subconsciously, that he — and others like Paul Biya in Cameroon and Muammar Gaddafi in Libya — would never leave.

In primary school, every day and especially on Fridays, I was supposed to say, ‘I am Turkish, and I am righteous and hardworking,’ But all those things did not actually turn us into Turks. This system is somehow creating fake personalities.

I completed the first three years of primary school in one year and was admitted to the local school the age of six directly into the fourth year, some two years younger than all my contemporaries.

I was taught by my father. He was head of the primary school so I went to his school until I was 11 — I was the youngest of four daughters and we had all been taught by him. But I didn’t really enjoy my secondary education that much, probably because I am a very physical person and don’t enjoy sitting at a desk all day.

I say this as a young dad seeing children going into primary school: I don’t think we should underestimate the formative effect on a child of those first years in primary school.

At first, I didn’t hang out with celebrity kids. That wasn’t the way I was brought up. I went to a run-of-the-mill Catholic primary school when we first moved to L.A. But then I went to a high school where there were lots of ‘industry’ children. Those weren’t my best friends and I’ve never set out to make myself a part of that scene.

The last time I threw a punch was in primary school, and that was probably a slap.

I was Santa Claus in first year of primary school, our elementary’s school play, because I had most panache, that was probably why. I was 5.

Halfway through primary school, I realised that I was not as physically strong or fearless as many kids. So, in situations of conflict, I quickly learned that it worked better for me to get out of situations or maybe kind of, you know, prevail in a conflict situation by using humour than by trying to punch somebody out.

I first started acting in primary school, just doing little plays. And from the moment I began, something just went ‘click’ inside me. Suddenly I wasn’t shy anymore. Instead I felt confident and happy. I can remember the enormous sense of relief it gave me. I loved the feeling of making people laugh.

Primary school

A primary school or elementary school is a school in which children receive primary or elementary education from the age of about five to twelve, coming before secondary school and after preschool. It is the first stage of compulsory education in most parts of the world, and is normally available without charge, but may be offered in a fee-paying independent school. The term grade school is sometimes used in the US though this term may refer to both primary education and secondary education.

The term primary school is derived from the French école primaire, which was first used in 1802.

  • Primary school is the preferred term in the United Kingdom and many Commonwealth Nations, and in most publications of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization ( UNESCO).
  • Elementary school is preferred in some countries, especially in the United States and Canada.

In the United States, «primary school» may refer to a school with grades Kindergarten through second grade or third grade. (K-2 or 3). In these municipalities, the «elementary school» includes grade three through five or grades four to six.

In some places, primary schooling has historically further been divided between lower primary schools (LP schools), which were the elementary schools, and higher primary schools (HP schools), which were established to provide a more practical instruction to poorer classes than what was provided in the secondary schools.
