Want to make a super cute cat drawing? Believe it or not, all you need is the letters c-a-t to get started. We’ve put together a quick and easy tutorial to help you these 3 simple letters into an adorable kitty. Read on to get started on your purr-fect sketch!

Get a blank piece of paper. Write the letters C — A — T with a 1 cm (0.39 in) gap between each letter using a pencil. Create a hook-like shape, on the letter T, at the end, as shown in the image above.

Draw another letter «C» over the existing «C.» Connect the ends to make the shape of a tail. Then, connect the «C» to the letter «A» as shown.

Turn the letter «A» into a circle. Use the hook at the end of the letter «A» to create the shape of back leg.

Draw a mushroom shape at the top for the head on the letter «T». Then, draw a rounded shape on the vertical line of the letter «T» to make the shape of the mouth and nose. Draw the front paws using the bottom of the letter «T» as a reference.

How do I make my cat look more like a cat?
Cats have some traits that cartoonists exaggerate such as their whiskers and their big round eyes, look up «Cartoon Cat» and notice what all of them have. Those are the features that make it look most like a cat. You’ll need to add such features to the word depiction.

How to Draw a Cat from the word Cat Simple Step by Step Drawing Lesson for Children
Written-Out Step by Step Instructions
(Step 1) Write cat.
(Step 2) Draw an oval on top of the letter ‘t’. This will be the kitty cat’s head.
(Step 3) Draw upside down letter ‘v’ shaped ears. Draw a pizza slice nose (or a triangle with a curved bottom).
(Step 4) Draw a letter ‘c’-like shape inside the original letter ‘c’ shape. This will be the cat’s tail. Draw curved lines for eyes. Draw a letter ‘j’ shape under the nose.
(Step 5) Draw a backwards letter ‘j’ shape under the nose. Draw a letter ‘s’-like shape for the right foot. Draw an upside down ?-like shape for the left foot. Draw a backwards letter ‘c’ shape inside the letter ‘a’ for the back leg.
(Step 6) Draw curved lines inside the paws. Draw lines for the cat’s back. Draw a line connecting the tail to the back leg. Draw upside down letter ‘v’ shapes inside the ears.
(Step 7) Color in your kitty cat any color that you like.
