Well, you shouldn’t, pushing things to find another outcome sucks because you are only hurting yourself only. You will find yourself in a loophole trying hard to receive a different answer and you will waste time and maybe you will be hurt (if this is someone you have feelings for). One word answers may vary the cause but if it is too often then consider to stop talking to those people because on the other side, they may have lost interest or don’t care at all for you. If you want to know why they are cold you should ask what is going on (if before their one words answer you were talking a lot) and then truly know the cause (if they are honest of course), it will save you from a lot of problems and pain. You will be thankful in a future scenario.
Edit; Forgot to say, you may not be the problem of their behavior, people have a lot of problems in their heads and most of them not even know what they want so, don’t take it personal.

We’ve all been there: you text a girl that you like and—ugh—you get a one-word message in return. How can you craft a text that’s so good, she has to reply? If someone sends you a one-word response, they might be busy, a little nervous, or not a great texter (and in that case, you’ll just have to be patient!). On the other hand, she might want to see if you can keep things exciting, even without much to go on. Ready to discover the perfect text? Read on for more.
Things You Should Know
- Send a sweet, romantic text that’ll make her feel special (and get her to respond). For example, tell her she just popped into your head.
- Craft a hilarious joke making fun of yourself to play it cool and pique her interest. You might mention how you clumsily tripped over your own shoelaces.
- If she’s sending short replies, she might be pressed for time or shy. Sometimes, all you have to do is be a little patient!

Give her a sweet compliment. Let’s face it, everyone loves being flattered. If your convo has rolled to a halt, get her to reengage by saying something super thoughtful. Mention that you love her personality, her looks, or something that she’s done. And if you can, say it in an offhand way—that way, it’ll seem more sincere, and you’ll be playing it cool, like her one-word reply didn’t phase you.[1]
- «Oh, by the way, I meant to tell you that I loved the dress you were wearing yesterday.»
- «I forgot to mention this earlier, but you crushed it at your basketball game yesterday. You were an all star out there.»
- Or, put a playful, funny spin on your flirtatious compliment: «Man, this is what I love about you. With these one-word replies, you really make me work for it.»
-
2
Let her know that you’re thinking about her. Craft a super sweet response, and you’ll make her swoon (and refocus on your text conversation). Mention something that reminds you of her or let her know she’s on your mind. There are a couple great ways to do this—you can wait a few hours and then tell her she’s on your mind, like you’re opening a brand new chat and ditching her one-word response. Or, you can go for a casual vibe and pretend like you hardly noticed her short reply.[2]
- If you want to wait a few hours, try a message like this: «I just saw a fudge cake at the store & it made me think of you—I know you love your chocolate»
- Or, if you want to play it cool, try a message like this: «So random, but you just popped into my head! Wolf Alice came on the radio, so naturally I thought of you…»
- Let her know that you think of her often in a casual way: «I was thinking about how you keep losing your house keys…have you tried Tile? Might help.»

Ask her a thoughtful, open-ended question. Sometimes, when you look back at your old messages, you might realize that the message you sent was pretty bare bones. She might’ve actually thought you were the one sending a brief message, and she just followed suit. If you want to kick the convo up again, try asking her questions that require a full response. Focus on trying to really get to know her.[3]
- Ask her about something you know she loves: «So you’re obviously an MVP tennis player, but I’ve never asked how you got into it. What’s the story?»
- Ask her a deep question: «I just remembered you mentioning that you want to be a novelist—that’s amazing. What draws you to writing?»
- Ask her a flirty, romantic question: «So anyway…it’s clear that I like you (I mean, what’s not to like?). But what do you usually look for romantically?»
-
4
Share a beautiful song or book and tell her you think she’d like it. Not only will you get to show off your great taste, but by telling your crush that something «reminds» you of her or that it «seems like something she’d like,» you’re subtly telling her that you know her well. Pick out a pretty song, book passage, or another kind of art form, then send it her way.
- «This song’s lyrics are so gorgeous, I thought you’d appreciate them.»
- «Wow, I just read this line in my book, isn’t it amazing? I feel like you have an eye for this stuff, so I’d love to hear your thoughts.»
-
5
Send along a photo of something in your day. Pictures are a great way to help her get to know you, help her feel engaged in the convo, and easily navigate away from a one-word response. Snap a quick shot of the niece you’re babysitting, cookies you made for friends, a nice view out your work window, or anything that shows off your sweet, intimate life. Then, just include a few words for context.
- «On babysitting duty this afternoon. But we all know Lily’s really the boss.»
- «Best batch I’ve made to date. Want one?»
- «Hard to complain with a view like this.»
-
6
Ask her to hang out. Sometimes, your crush might just be frustrated with the slow pace. If the two of you have been texting and texting (but you haven’t hung out in person), why not ask her when she’s free? If she’s been waiting for you to make a move, she’ll be thrilled. And if she’s not that interested, this is a great way to find out quickly. Just make sure that no matter her answer, you accept it gracefully!
- «Hey, here’s a thought. Why don’t we see a movie this week?»
- «If I haven’t made it embarrassingly obvious yet, I like you. Any chance you’d want to grab dinner on Friday?»
- «Yeah, texting can be boring. Want to catch up in person instead?»

1
Tease her in a hilarious, flirtatious way. Showing off your silly side can make you way more attractive to her; plus, it helps diffuse any awkwardness in the conversation. She’ll probably love to see that you roll with the punches and that you aren’t pressed by her one-word response. Make her laugh, and she’ll probably decide to keep texting you back![4]
- «Wow, my message was so interesting and profound…I’ve actually left her speechless. Amazing.»
- «If I had a little more pride I might not reply to a one-word response, but lucky for you, I’ve got super low self-esteem!»
- “The votes are in! You’ve won the Most Boring Text Response Ever award. Congrats!”
-
2
Pique her interest with a cliff-hanger text message. Send a short, mysterious message that’ll leave her on the edge of her seat. Then, when she responds, make something silly up. She’ll love your sense of humor, and you’ll have her totally engaged in your convo in seconds.[5]
- Start with: “You’ll never guess what just happened…” Then say: “I just got a paper cut. I guess God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.”
- Or, say: “The craziest thing just happened at my house!” Then follow up with: “My sister actually apologized to me for once. This is groundbreaking news.”
- Send her: “Omg, Sarah, guess what just happened!!” Then, follow up with a silly response: “A zombie just ran into my room, but I took care of it. I’m tough like that.”
-
3
Make fun of yourself to make your crush giggle. When you lightly make fun of yourself, you actually come off as more confident than when you’re speaking highly of yourself. Jokingly blame her one-word reply on your texting skills and make fun of yourself for getting “rejected.” Just make sure to keep it light so that you don’t go from seeming casual and funny, to genuinely hurt.[6]
- “Wow, a one-word reply?? Man, I must be off my game today.”
- “Oof, a one-word response…that cuts deep. Obviously I’m going to need to strategize, make a game plan, and get back to you if I’m gonna get your attention.”
-
4
Challenge her to a silly game. When the conversation has come to a crashing halt, why not start up a random game to get her engaged while making her laugh? An out-of-the-blue invitation will totally take her by surprise, which will show off your silly side. Plus, playing a game can be a great way to deepen your connection, so when you start, make sure to throw in some playful trash talk, too.
- Download the GamePigeon app and send over a random invitation to 8 ball, checkers, 20 questions, you name it.
- If the game is getting close, send over a hilarious, jokingly competitive text: «Better watch out. I’m definitely about to have a comeback here.»
-
5
Send her a meme or funny link. So, she hit you with the one-word reply. No worries! If you wait a beat, then send over something completely hilarious without more text, you’ll make her laugh in a super casual way. Plus, you won’t have to navigate a text response to her short reply; your funny content does that for you!
- For example, send over that hilarious TikTok you saw this morning. Bonus points if your video is super tailored to her (maybe it’s about a movie she likes, for example!).
- Or, send over a funny news article or meme that made you laugh. Pro tip: when you come across a hilarious link, save it to your notes for times like this.

Question
I like this girl but she doesn’t like me back and bullies me. Should I try these tips on her?
No. If she bullies you, then she does not respect who you are. You should not waste your time on someone who has no regard for you.
-
Question
What topics should I start a conversation with?
If it’s a new text relationship, start with things you have in common, such as family pets, friends or school life. If it’s not brand new, dig deeper. Ask about past experiences she’s had at places, or if she’s been to a place — and if she has, ask her about it. Bring up more personal things the longer the relationship goes on.
-
Question
How do I have a text conversation with a girl without getting confused?
If you feel confused, just ask her what she meant by what she said. This approach will eliminate confusion.

If she consistently sends you one-word replies, she might not be interested. That’s okay! In that case, your time is best spent reaching out to someone who is. You deserve someone who’s excited to text you!

About This Article
Article SummaryX
To reply to one word texts from girls, ask her a question that can’t be answered in a few words, like “What is your idea of a perfect date, and why?” You can also try to liven up the conversation by asking her about something you know she’s interested in, like her favorite TV show or hobby. Alternatively, try laying the blame for her short responses on yourself to show her your funny and playful side. For example, text “Wow, I must really be off my game today. I’m not usually so boring.” Then, at the end of the text, add a smiley face to let her know you’re not mad at her but are simply poking fun at yourself. To learn how to make up ridiculous stories to get a girl to text you back, keep reading!

What do one-word text messages mean?
Honestly, it can mean many things.
She could be too busy to tell you more. It could be that your last text was difficult to answer. And it could mean she’s done with your shit.
Yup. More often than not, a one-word text is a negative sign.
But it doesn’t have to be.
So don’t jump to conclusions. It’s not good for your back or your relationship with that girl.
The only time you need to be worried is if you get one word replies a lot.
Then the odds are that you’re doing something wrong.
Find out what you’re doing wrong in the next tips.
#1: Take a breath
One of the most important things to do after you get a one-word text is to relax.
Take a chill pill, dude.
Because if you grab your phone with a heart full of rage, you’ll probably say something you’ll regret.
Something you can’t undo.
So don’t let your emotions get the better of you.
Take a deep breath and put the phone away.
Then do something fun or productive.
Go for a walk, hit the gym, or hang out with a friend.
And remember: her one-word reply may not mean anything.
#2: You’re texting her at the wrong time
Sometimes one word replies make a lot of sense.
You just caught her at the wrong time.
She’s working. Hanging out with friends. Or she’s done talking with you after you blew up her phone with text messages.
So timing is of the essence.
In this next 2-minute video, I tell you exactly what the best time is to text a girl.
#3: The best mindset to deal with one-word texts
One-word texts usually rattle us for two reasons.
- We like the other person so much that their lack of interest hurts
- We have a negative mindset
Story time!
One of the students from my TextGod Mentoring Program was at a girl’s house on a date when he saw something bad.
A trash can with two empty pizza boxes.
“Oh no…” he thought “she probably had a date yesterday and had sex with him!”
Now he felt like a cheap manwhore and the whole vibe of the date was ruined.
Let’s hit rewind.
Did the two empty pizza boxes mean she had a date?
How else could we interpret that?
- She’s had a couple pizzas by herself this week
- She had pizza with a platonic friend
- She’s into modern art and this is her latest art installation (probably not)
In short: there are plenty of innocent reasons why she has a trash can with two empty pizza boxes!
But because my student had a negative mindset, he assumed the worst and was a real Debbie Downer.
So be careful, my friend.
Don’t assume the worst. Instead, assume she likes you and all is good.
- 10 Ways to make a girl like you over text
#4: How often does she send you one-word texts?
Don’t worry if you get a brief reply every now and then.
That’s normal.
And more importantly, it’s probably not a bad sign.
Does it happen more often?
Now it’s time to put on your thinking cap, because we may have found a pattern.
Check your convo. Do the one-word texts have anything in common?
Were they perhaps sent at the same time of day (work hours) or after you said something with a unique flavor (something she didn’t like)?
Look carefully.
Because if you’re the cause of her short replies, you have the power to stop them.
You just need to find out what you’re doing wrong.
Here are some questions to help you identify the problem:
- Was your text easy to reply to?
- Were you talking about the same subject for too long?
- Was the vibe of your text very different from the texts that came before?
- Did you ask a question out of necessity rather than curiosity?

#5: Ask more open-ended questions
A HUGE reason why people struggle with online dating is this.
They ask bad questions.
Closed questions.
Did you have a good weekend?
And, of course, this zinger of a question.
What’s the trouble with asking these types of questions?
They lead to one-word answers.
Yes and no.
Sure, she could reply more.
But if you want a rich and fulfilling love life, you need to take responsibility and be proactive.
So start writing texts that lead to long and fun answers.
An easy way is to start asking open-ended questions.
Here are two articles to give you some inspiration:
- 100+ Tinder questions that actually work
- 70+ Questions to ask your crush over text
#6: Be clear in your tone of voice
If you don’t take care of your tone of voice, you’re torpedoing your love life.
Even the most innocent texts can turn off Tinder matches or start fights with your significant other.
Why?
Because unless you clarify the vibe of your text, she’ll interpret the text based on her mood and what she knows of you.
If she barely knows you and she’s in a foul mood, you can guarantee an ambiguous text will go down badly.
So don’t just type up a joke and think she’ll laugh.
Read your text out loud to yourself and ask yourself: “Can I interpret the text in any other way?”
If so, delete that mothatrucka and send it to hell.
Or rewrite the text in a way that it only has one clear meaning. Sometimes the answer is as simple as adding an emoji.
So drop the linguistic puzzles and be clear.
#7: Don’t be too hard-to-get
Playing hard-to-get definitely has its place in seduction.
But it usually backfires harder than a sumo wrestler’s backside on enchilada night.
Why?
Because most people do it wrong.
They’re not hard-to-get. They’re cold.
- They wait forever to text back
- They never ask questions
- And they never give compliments
What type of reaction do you think that type of behavior promotes?
MORE cold behavior in the shape of one-word answers.
So don’t be hard-to-get.
Be warm.
Which starts with smiling in your online dating photos. Click this link for 11 Tinder profile photo tips on how to triple your matches.
Anyway, being warm also means being friendly, genuine and curious in your text conversations.
- If someone actually says or does something you like, tell them.
- Don’t constantly hide behind jokes and witty remarks, be your relaxed self.
- Lastly, be interested in their opinions and who they are.
But be careful you don’t simp for her.
That’s a big turn off.
Check my next article for what I mean:
- 7 Signs you’re a simp over text message
#8: Stop selling yourself
If you’re a guy, you’re in trouble.
You see, when it comes to dating guys are born with a handicap.
A donger.
I’m joking, but only slightly.
Men are genetically wired to procreate and shoot babies into our better halves.
Although we can override that instinct, most dudes don’t even bother.
So the instant they see a pretty lady, they think: “I must have her!”
And all standards fly out the window.
The problem?
They’re already decided they want her and will do and say everything to get her.
Which often turns guys into a pushy car salesman.
Like so.
One simple text turned this guy into doggy listening to its master.
Which communicates to her:
“Man, I really like you. Here’s what I can do for you. Please say it’s enough and like me back.”
Not all girls will be turned off by this behavior.
But to many it’s a buzzkill.
Which they’ll show you by sending you one word texts.
#9: Why you’re getting one-word texts from your girlfriend or boyfriend
This is a serious topic which deserves a quick and serious answer.
First of all, remember that one-word texts aren’t an issue unless you’re getting them regularly.
Are one-word texts common for you?
Here’s what might be going on.
Warning, it’s not pretty:
You like her and the relationship a lot more than she currently likes you and the relationship.
Because you like her so much, you’re likely showering her with texts and affection.
And because she’s in need of some space, she’s being curt over text in the hope that you’ll take the hint.
Does that mean the relationship is over?
No.
Just that you and your partner CURRENTLY have different needs.
So slow down.
If she’s suffering from a you-overdose, you want to give her a little less and give her the opportunity to miss you.
Once your loving strangle-hold loosens, she’ll likely start typing in full sentences again.
Want to make her fall in love with you (again)? Check out this article:
- 14 Ways to make her fall in love over text
#10: Stop typing like your uneducated
If this title didn’t trigger you, then you need to read this tip.
Did the title make you cringe? Great.
Now you know how she’s feeling.
Anyway, the title has a big grammar mistake that will shrivel up a girl’s eggs.
Not all girls will have such a strong reaction. But many of the good ones will.
You know, the girls with diplomas, big ambitions and next level tongue and throat skills. (The last point is made up, but I feel like it makes my point more convincing.)
So while you may scoff at grammar mistakes, others wince at them as if they were hearing the sound of nails on a chalkboard.
And it makes sense.
Proper grammar communicates that you’re smart and probably live the life of a smart dude.
Nice place. Decent job. And a big d- oggo for her to cuddle.
So get your grammar right.
It doesn’t cost much effort and the rewards are big.
What to text after a one-word text
One of the most effective ways to get a woman to open up to you over text is this.
Clickbait.
If you get it right, clickbait is irresistible.
As long as you choose the right topic to get the clicks.
Your safest bet is talking about her.
Why?
Because it’s her most favorite subject in the world.
So to get a good answer, hit her with some questions like this:
You know what I find so interesting about you?
Or:
I never thought about it until now, but you know what’s kinda funny about you?
IRRESISTIBLE.
She won’t be able to stop herself from replying.
For more clickbait questions and good follow-up questions, check my clickbait video where I tell you exactly what to do using actual text conversations.
You can find my clickbait video here.
Enjoy.
Blessings,

It’s been one hella year. I mean, it still is. Even though we are close to leaving the cursed number 2020 behind, from what we’ve seen so far, the chances that it won’t go according to plan are, let’s put it this way, quite high.
With so many mixed emotions and unheard-of feelings surfing around this planet right now, Twitter has decided it’s about time to put a name on it. “2020 in one word,” the channel tweeted yesterday. The question instantly blew up with 211.3K likes, attracting many big gamers, like YouTube, Xbox, Netflix, and Zoom sharing their own spin on what’s essentially hard to describe.
The best responses to the somewhat philosophical inquiry into our current times are in down below, but beware that some questions, we don’t want answered. And some answers are better left unquestioned.
It’s crazy to think about how many things can happen in almost 12 months, but this year was one big roller coaster ride and while we’re slowly approaching the end stop, it still keeps on rollin’. Among world-changing events that happened, some were truly alarming.
First, there were debilitating bushfires in Australia that burned a record 47 million acres and killed more than thirty people. Then, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to quit the British royal family in what was one of the most controversial steps in the family’s history.
This same year, the Black Lives Matter protests swept around the globe after the police-involved killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor.
And, last but not least, on January 9, The World Health Organization announced a new, deadly coronavirus had emerged in Wuhan, China. Little did we know it would turn into one of the most debilitating public health crises of modern history.
While there are 65,359,887 global coronavirus cases and 1,508,906 global fatalities, many potential COVID-19 vaccines are now being studied internationally. Check for the vaccine updates on the WHO website.

You know the deal. You get the coward chick who tries to breakup with you over text.
(I personally would go ghost. No contact. It drives them nuts with wondering..)
But, if you simply could not restrain yourself from replying with a ONE or two WORD reply to a chick breaking up with you over text what would you use to come off as not affected by her attempt before vanishing completely?
A few come to mind. Again I wouldn’t bother replying, but for other dudes who felt they HAD to…
«Ok»
«Aiiight.»
«Dueces kid.»
or simply: «Ghost»

#2
I always accept rejection gracefully. «No problem. It’s been fun. All the best. x»
I think it’s good to show you can handle rejection because it shows her you’re a strong person and not an emotional liability, so it leaves the door open for anything that might happen in the future.
In my opinion, one word answers don’t convey indifference as they remind me too much of a sulking woman.
-
#3
Similar, I broke up with a girl over the phone cause the ***** wouldn’t see me and I said its over. Told her no hard feelings, I wish you the best.
-
#4
The word is no word at all.
No Contact. She isn’t giving you what you want so you walk. That is the rule. There is never any whining or nagging her about what she doesn’t do.
As Jarial noted, one of the biggest tests a woman will ever put you through is to see you how handle her dumping you. If you handle it right (and it’s a small chance) you can increase her interest level. While she’ll still do whatever she was going to do, she’ll probably come back within 10 days.
The attitude must be one of abundance. For example, yesterday I texted my gf to confirm whether we were going out last night to celebrate Valentine’s at midnight. At first I was worried she wouldn’t text back. Then I started HOPING she wouldn’t — I would save money and get to go out by myself. Of course, she showed up on time to the minute.
Warning!
Do not subscribe to The SoSuave Newsletter unless you are already a chick magnet!
The information in each issue of The SoSuave Newsletter is too powerful for most guys to handle. If you are an ordinary guy, it is not for you. It is meant for the elite few. Not the unwashed masses.
If you know you can handle it…
If you already have girls calling you at all hours of the day and night, showing up at your door, throwing themselves at you everywhere you go…
Then sign up below.
But if you’re just an average Joe, an ordinary guy, no one special – then skip this. It is not for you.

Either nothing at all or:

If I were to send a one or two word response it would most likely be a wise ass one and that’s it.
Hilarious, cool, or You’re silly. Those would most likely would get a chick extremely pissed especially if you go complete ghost afterward.
Never did that before though. Just vanished. Just a thread for dudes who can’t restrain themselves at having the last word if a breakup is done to them over text.

«Sounds good. See you around»
Last year around this time I’d been seeing this girl, we weren’t exclusive, but she sure led me like we were. She dropped me hard over text, and being pretty sure another guy was in the picture, I experimented and responded with «that’s fine, I had my eye on someone else anyways» and went NC. She was back in a week or two.

I’m of the opinion the best thing you can do or say is: NOTHING! Don’t even give them the satisfaction of closure. Keep em wondering.

Say nothing.
Breaking up over text is tacky. Don’t reward her with any type of closure.

How about if I do an overdramatic, «Noooooooo» and then never speak to her again?
I’m kind of joking, but now that I think about it, I feel like making fun of her breakup attemp kind of deflates any ego boost she’d get by pulling a move like that.

I Like this one. It would probably get a chuckle. I’ send the «nooooo.. my heart is crushed ahh.» Immediately followed by «Im. Jk. You’re a sweet girl and I truly wish you the best. It was fun.»

I actually did something similar once. I went on one date with this girl, and didn’t really like her, but a few days later, I tried to be nice and sent a text saying, «It was nice meeting you.»
An hour later she replied with some 4-paragraph text talking about «I believe in honesty, and I just want to say that I don’t see us moving forward romantically. We can be friend, blah blah…»
First I’m thinking to myself — I met this chick once. Why give me some long-winded break up when I barely know you. Just ignore my text.
Anyway, so I replied in all caps and exclamation points, «WHAT!!!!» Then I said, «Just kidding. Sure, we’re friends.» and that was it.
I don’t know where this fits into the DJ philosophy, but I was just having fun with a girl who, apparently, takes dating way too seriously.
