Hello, teachers!
I’ve read this piece of information in «English Grammar in Use -5th edition that we don’t use «for + all» in sentences like:
«I’ve lived here for all my life.»
And that the correct form is:
«I’ve lived here all my life.»
However, some people claim that it is OK so I’m confused.
What do you think, teachers?

Hi everyone
What’s the difference between «all of my life» and «all my life»? Let me give you an example sentence:
All of my life
Where have you been?
I wonder if I’ll ever see you again
All my life I’ve been searching for somethin’
Somethin’ never comes, never leads to nuthin’
-
#4
Is «all one’s life» more common than «all of one’s life»?
This calls for scientific research… or, failing that, Google:
6,740,000 for «all my life»
494,000,000 for «all of my life»
80,800,000 for «all his life»
140,000,000 for «all of his life»
It may be worth noting that All My Life and All Of My Life are both song titles, so perhaps they cancel out rather than tipping any balances.

Another Word(оригинал) |
And when you’re hanging ’round |
Waiting on the other side of town |
Kick a stone on a painted wall |
And when the riot comes |
Keep your head and keep your loving charm |
Living life is a glamour show |
But it’s another word |
It’s another word |
All soldiers have a cause |
Giving life upon graffitied walls |
As a way to pass the time |
I saw a father’s tear |
For a leader standing over here |
‘Who’s the King?’ |
says a passer by But it’s another word |
It’s another word |
Word |
And when you’re hanging ’round |
Waiting on the other side of town |
Kick a stone on a painted wall |
And when the riot comes |
Keep your head and keep your loving charm |
Living life is a glamour show |
But it’s another word |
It’s another word |
Word |
