I wanted this book for my children in grades 3rd and 5th. I figured I’d start out with the lower level just to check it out. While some of the words are easy for them, I still feel it gives them a better understanding of words they may have thought they already knew. Great refresher for older child and great start for my younger.

This simple book is great for teaching children one new word each day over the course of 3 school years (or less). I really enjoy the format: word with definition, example sentence, and then a few questions to help the child apply the new knowledge. We use this for homeschooling and find it to be a fun, quick, and easy way to learn new vocabulary!

Good product, but a little more challenging than I had hoped for. While it’s a good idea to present these words to kids at this age (1st-3rd), most of my students can barely read this stuff. We do it as a class, use it in writing, and then I make them use it in a sentence of their own.

I teach Resource Reading. My students love doing A Word A Day. They enjoy going through the list of examples of what the word means. When it comes time to share they love to volunteer to show their knowledge of the words!
